SCOPE OR BACKGROUND This research guide lists a selected guide to resources available in our library on the topic of life in during the time of the Canterbury Tales. The Canterbury Tales is a collection of tales written in verse and set in the late 1300’s. The collection was begun around 1386. This era is called medieval times or the time of the middle ages. . The Middle Ages is the period between ancient and modern times in Western Europe. It extends from the end of the Roman Empire (from about A.D. 400’s) to the 1500’s.
