We Buy Broken Gold Jewelry EXAMPLES OF STERLING HALMARKS

How can you tell if it’s STERLING or Silver Plate?

Over the past 4 years gold prices have soared. The high price has created a seller’s market. If you haven’t sold your gold yet it’s not too late. We buy all types of gold jewelry. Whether it’s out of style, broken or maybe it’s from an old romance, if you no longer wear it why not sell it? Sell us your gold jewelry and we will pay you a fair price and pay you in cash. Even a single ring or necklace is worth the trip. At today’s high gold prices a little amount is still worth a lot of money.

We Have Collectors Looking For Sterling Silver Flatware!

Well, if it was made in the United States after 1868 it’s fairly simple. It will be stamped with the word “STERLING”. Sterling means it meets the silver standard of 92.5% silver. The remaining metal is most likely copper; however, other metals might be used. Pure silver, like gold may be too soft so other metals are used for strength. For U.S. made items if you do not see the word ‘STERLING” it is most likely silver plate. Now if it’s made outside the U.S., places like Mexico, Britain, Europe or Asia, it can be marked with one of over 300 hallmarks that are used to signify that it is silver. Different countries have different silver standards. Mexico is 95%, U.S. is 92.5%, and Germany is 80%. Confused yet? A common hallmark used in many different countries is a lion with its paw raised in the air. If you have items that are marked with the word “STERLING” or if you have items with other markings that you think might signify they are silver we ask that you bring them in. Our staff can easily identify your items free of charge. We will be purchasing all silver items of both U.S. and foreign origin. To schedule a house call you can contact us at 1-844-767-5664

Gold Prices on the Rise!

“Your old silver coins could be worth a lot of money!” says Back Roads Tour coin expert

THE ANTIQUE PICKERS BACK ROADS TOUR This is a rare opportunity to have cash buyers come to you!

All silver coins dated 1964 and before could fetch a high price right now according to Antique Pickers coin expert Keith Hammons. He said all silver dollars, half dollars, quarters and dimes made before 1965 were made with silver. “In fact, 90% of the weight is silver” says Hammons. “With today’s high silver market that makes these coins worth a lot of money” he said. Hammons went on to say that when selling your silver coins it is important to sell to a reputable buyer like the Antique Pickers. We take the time to go through the coins to identify high grade and rare date coins. Some dealers buy the coins in bulk and then go through the coins later to retrieve the more collectible coins. For instance, a common Mercury dime might be worth $1.00 while a 1916-D Mercury dime is a key date and can be worth as much as $2,000 in the right condition. If you have silver coins you are interested in selling you can call The Antique Pickers Back Roads Tour. To schedule a house call you can contact us at 844-767-5664

We Pay Cash For All Silver Dollars Silver Dollars have been sought after by collectors for over 200 years What is your Silver Dollar worth?

Well, let’s start all the way back in 1792. April 2nd, 1792 to be precise, that’s when our United States Congress passed “The Coinage Act of 1792” and established the United States Mint. Philadelphia was the host city and the mint’s name was “Ye Olde Mint”. The entire building measured 37’X33’. It wasn’t until 1794 when “Ye Olde Mint” produced the first silver dollars known as “The Flowing Hair Dollar”. These beautiful coins were made from 1794-1795. These highly sought after coins can easily bring $2,000 in worn condition to over $200,000 and in excellent condition. The “Draped Bust Dollar” was produced thru 1803. These coins are just

beautiful and some of the prettiest coins ever minted. Collectors just love them and will pay plenty to own them. Poor condition coins can still fetch upwards of $1,500 while coins in excellent condition can bring over $200,000. 1794 Flowing Hair Dollar

DO NOT MISS THIS EVENT!

9:00am til 6:00pm EVERYDAY! “The 1804 Silver Dollar” Silver dollars dated 1804 were made in error and only 15 are known to exist. In 1999 one sold at auction for over 4 million dollars. It was bought by a private collector and remains in his collection today. Production of the silver dollar ceased until 1836 when “The Seated Liberty Dollar” was introduced. Its production continued through 1873. Values of The Seated Liberty Dollar can vary greatly depending on the year and condition. Well worn circulated coins can still be worth $100 each while the best know examples can bring over $100,000 to the right collector. In 1873 Trade Dollars were introduced. These dollars were a bit heavier than their predecessors. They were made specifically for commercial trade with Asia. Production of the Trade Dollar was officially halted in 1878 after silver prices fell dramatically. However, between 1879-1885 some proof coins were produced. Fact: A proof coin is a special sample made before mass production. This is done to check the quality of the dies and the finish of the coins. In early days small numbers of proof coins were produced. Nowadays larger numbers are produced specifically for sale to collectors. Morgan Dollars Minted 1878-1904 & 1921 Morgan Dollars may be the most sought after coins in the U.S. today. These coins are still fairly easy to find, compared to earlier dollars like “The Flowing Hair”. Morgan dollar coins can range widely in price based on the date, mint mark and condition. The most common date is 1921 and the holy grail to a collector is an 1895-P. The 1895-P was

What is a Mint Mark? The mint mark on a coin designates which mint produced the coin. The following chart identifies current and past mints, their marks and what years they operated. The mint marks are "C", "CC", "D", "D", "O", "P", "S", and "W". • "C": Charlotte, North Carolina (gold coins only; 1838–1861). • "CC": Carson City, Nevada (1870–1893). • "D": Dahlonega, Georgia (gold coins only; 1838–1861). • "D": Denver, Colorado (1906 to date). • "O": New Orleans, Louisiana (1838–1861; 1879–1909). • "P": Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1793 to date).

made as a proof only. By the way, the P stands for Philadelphia not proofmore on that later. On today’s market average circulated condition coins with common dates are worth around $24.00 each and hard to find dates can easily bring over $1,000. As an example, an 1893S in fine condition can fetch $2,500. Peace Dollars 1921-1935 The Peace Dollar was introduced in December 1921. Coincidentally that same year Morgan Dollars were made. While the 1921 Morgan is very common, a 1921 Peace Dollar is much harder to find and is worth around $150 or more. The most sought after date in this coin series is the 1928-P. However, it should be noted that in 1964, 316,000 Peace Dollar coins were minted but later destroyed. Word is there may be two coins that are somewhere in hiding. If one was to surface it would be worth millions! Values of Peace Dollars range from $15.00 to $800.00 Eisenhower Dollars 1971-1978 The Eisenhower Dollar, also known as the Ike Dollar was made in large numbers. Most coins were made with what is known as “Clad” and contains no silver. These coins are usually worth face value only. Some collectors may pay a small 10% premium or $1.10 per coin. There are exceptions however…from 1971-1976 the mint produced some coins made with 40% silver. These coins were made for and sold to collectors. However, many ended up in circulation. To tell, just look at the coin’s edge to see if you see any copper color. If you do, it’s not the one with the silver. Sorry. Those silver one’s should be worth around $6.00 to a collector. Fact: Because of the difficulty of hauling the Gold and Silver across the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the nearest mint in San Francisco, Congress passed legislation in 1863 to establish a mint in Carson City. Construction began after the Civil War ended in 1865 and was completed in 1869. • "S": San Francisco, California (1854 to date). • "W": West Point, New York (1984 to date). Important Note: The CC mint mark on any coin increases the value. Collectors love any coins that came from Carson City. So to answer the question “What’s My Silver Dollar Worth?,” it’s not that easy to answer without examining the particular coin. Date, mintmark and condition affect the collector value greatly. I invite you to bring your coins to the NCCA Coin & Currency show this week. There your coins will be examined by one of our collectors who will be glad to answer any questions you have. It’s free and if you want to sell your coins we are sure to have a buyer for you that will pay you a fair and honest price.

WE BUY

Collector Coins As previously discussed, the value of many coins is tied directly to that day’s silver price. These silver coins (made 1964 or before) are commonly referred to as bullion or 90%. However, there are many coins that are worth considerably more than just the precious metal contained in the coin. These are coins in excellent condition and coins that are rare due to how many were made or where there were made. These coins are highly sought after by collectors and can be worth a lot of money. We know what coins to look for and will search your coins for better dates and those coins in better condition. Below you will find examples of just a few coins that are sought after by collectors. Bring your coins to us and we will sort them thoroughly and completely.

Silver Dollars-All silver dollars are worth more than the silver contained in the coin. Collectors love silver dollars.

Half Dollars- All 50 cent pieces made from 1794-1947 are worth more than the silver contained within. The Franklin and Kennedy halves made from 1958-1969 are primarily valued based on the silver market. However, keep in mind that all coins in uncirculated mint state condition will demand premiums.

Quarter Dollars- All 25 cent pieces made from 1796-1930 are worth more than just silver value. Also the 1932-D and 1932-S Washington quarters are worth a lot because they are referred to as “Key Dates” due to the low mintage numbers. There are other variations like the Double Dies (mint errors) that you need to be aware of. These coins can be worth hundreds each.

Dimes- All 10 cent pieces made from 1796-1916 are collector coins. These coins are in high demand in today’s market. There are also exceptions to the Mercury dime series. For instance a 1916-D Mercury dime can sell for as much as $2,000 depending on its condition.

Nickels- All 5 cent pieces made from 1866-1938 are valued as collector coins. None of these nickels were made with silver. These coins were made with mostly copper and some nickel. Therefore, the price is only determined by what collectors are willing to pay. There are some highly valuable nickels. For instance a 1937-D three legged Buffalo nickel can be worth up to $3,000 in mint condition.

Pennies- All pennies made from 1793-1909 are sought after by collectors. Wheat back pennies made beginning in 1909 through 1958 are collectible. Most of these are only worth a couple of cents each, but there are a few exceptions like the 1909-S VDB that can fetch up to $2,500.

Half cents, 3 cent pieces, half dimes and other early coins are always highly collectible and valuable to collectors. Rest assured that when you bring your coins to us we will properly identify and value them. We pay fair prices and will treat you as we would a member of our family.

We Buy Coin Collections of All Sizes Whether you have a coffee can full of coins you have collected over the years or you are an avid collector and have decided it’s time to sell, we can help. We deal with all types of situations and all sizes of collections.

When you bring in your coins we will take the time required to properly identify and value your coins. A coin’s value is determined on….

1. The metal value…Coins can be made of gold, silver, copper, steel, etc. Many coins are valuable because of current precious metal values. For instance common silver coins like Kennedy halves from 1964 which are 90% silver by weight are more valuable as the silver market rises. On the flip side they are less valuable as silver prices go down.

Diamonds are forever…… Unless you are ready to cash in that is! Diamonds of all shapes and sizes are in high demand right now. Small diamonds, large diamonds, round diamonds or square diamonds - they are all sought after by New York Diamond Buyers. We know these buyers and we know diamonds. If you have any diamonds that you might be interested in selling, we want to see them. We are one of the country’s premier diamond buyers. We will examine, size and value your diamonds based on the 4 C’s used by all reputable diamond traders. Cut, Clarity, Color and Carat weight. Your diamonds will be valued based on these 4 points. You will be offered a fair price for your diamonds. If you choose to accept our offer you will be paid in cash. We are happy to make house calls too or if needed we can meet you at your bank if your diamonds are in a safety deposit box. To schedule a house call you can contact us toll free at 844-767-5664

2. The collector value…Collectors are willing to pay more for coins based on the condition and the rarity of a particular coin. When you bring in your coins we take time to go through each of your coins and check the mint marks, rarity and determine the grade of each coin. This process will enable us to properly determine each coin’s value and offer a fair price based on our findings.

The silver market is up and its time to sell any silver you may have. Look for the word "STERLING". The government requires manufacturers to put the word "STERLING" on each piece. You will find that word on the back of your spoons and forks in a set of flat ware. Or on the bottom of platters, tea pots, etc. Markings like "International Silver" or "Rogers 1847" are not sterling silver and have little value. Jewelry may be marked with the word 'STERLING" or "925" which means 92.5% silver. We buy anything marker sterling or 925. Some older european pieces may be marked 700, 800 or 900 that can signify silver content. Also look for a lion with one of his paws in the air. This lion hallmark is also used to signify silver pieces made throughout Europe

An antique is an old collectable item. It is collected or desirable because of its age, beauty, rarity, condition, utility, personal emotional connection, and/or other unique features. It is an object that represents a previous era or time period in human society. It is common practice to define "antique" as applying to objects at least 100 years old. We think anything made in the 1960’s or before is antique or at least a collectible. If you have anything made in the 1960’s or earlier, Call US!
