THE RESULTS OF THE INAUGURAL CONNECTED HOME 50 MOST POPULAR SURVEY ARE IN. HOW DID YOUR COMPANY STACK UP?

M

ost industries are clearly defined. It’s easy to identify the industry leaders and it’s clear which products are the most favoured. The Australian and New Zealand home automation industries, however, aren’t as clear. There’s a lot of conjecture out there, but you can’t always tell fact from fiction. That’s why we here at Connected Home asked you to identify the brands that you install to get a clear idea of which products are being integrated in Australian and New Zealand homes, and to identify the industry leaders in each category. In total, over 250 installers responded to what will become an annual exercise in tracking the development and growth of the industry, and to recognise those companies that lead the way in a particular category. On behalf of Connected Home, I would like to congratulate all of the companies who topped the list and would like to make special mention of the local manufacturers who took out their categories, proving that Australian manufacturers can well and truly compete against international products. WI-SPY WINNER Congratulations to the winner of a new Wi-Spy USB dongle - Don Little of Automated Living Systems in Victoria. Now, every time you go on site and install an access point, you can use your new Wi-Spy to determine the optimum frequency. The Wi-Spy USB dongle works in conjunction with software called Chanalyzer to display any interference in the 2.4GHz range. The software will display a chart of access point SSIDs with the background noise/interference. A special thank you must go to Samer Shami from Wi-Spy Australia (www.wi-spy.com.au) for kindly donating the prize for this competition.
