The meeting will be held from December 79th, 1994 at the sensational resort town of Sharm El Sheikh, off the Red Sea Shore in the southern part of Sinai peninsula. This meeting is the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East with full dedication to the field of hypertension. Several distinguished national and international authorities will participate. The meeting will include state-of-art lectures, original contributions and symposia. It comes in due time to emphasize the growing and important role of The Egyptian Hypertension League in disseminating scientific knowledge, encouraging research in the field of hypertension, enhancing communication among physicians and ultimately improving medical care delivery to the people of Egypt and the neighbouring countries.

The choice of the location gives the meeting an exclusive nature. Sharm El Sheikh lies on one of the most beautiful beaches of the world, a few kilometers north of the Ras Mohamed International-Reserve which is a paradise for divers and snorklers. The weather is mild at this time of the year which allows for enjoying water activities, fishing expeditions, sea cruises, beach strolling and exotic seafood dinning. A modified meeting program and a relaxed time schedule allows ample time to enjoy the Red Sea and the surrounding mountain and desert life. President: M. The Egyptian Hypertension League in collaboration with the Cardiology Department, Cairo University are organizing the First Scientific Meeting Of The Egyptian Hypertension League. This meeting is the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East. Over a three-day period from the 7th to the 9th of December 1994, national and international experts will exchange their experience in the field of hypertension. The scientific program will include state-of art lectures, symposia, and original contributions. The meeting will be held at the Movenpick Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh which is located in Southern Sinai and is considered among the most magnificent under water gardens all over the world. It is considered among the most magnificent under water gardens all over the world. To fans of scuba diving, sailing, wind surfing, snorkling, fishing and under water photography Sharm El Sheikh is a dream come true. No place in the world can compete with the fantastic reefs and rare corals harbouring the greatest variety of fish and aqua marine ever known. The place is ideal year round. The Movenpick Hotel, a five stars deluxe resort, is directly located on the beach, six kilometers from the international airport and seven kilometers from downtown Language: The official language of the meeting is English. Translation will not be available. Visa Requirement: The Egyptian visa can be easily obtained at all Egyptian consulates and/or embassies in all countries all over the world, or can be obtained on the spot upon arrival at Cairo Airport, as long as your passport is valid for a minimum of three months from your arrival date. Currency: The official currency is the Egyptian pound (LE). The current exchange rate: 1 US Dollar 3.38 LE (October, 1994). Climate: The weather in Egypt at this time of the year and specially at Sharm El Sheikh is very pleasant. It should make the large number of social events, daily excursions and post conference tours memorable ones . The average temperature in Sharm El Sheikh in December ranges between a low of 120C and a high of 28C. Sunshine is expected most of the days. Transportation and Accommodation: Transportation of our guests from Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh and back will either be by plane or by bus. Hotel rooms sell out quickly specially at this time of the year. The Organizing Committee has reserved rooms at the Movenpick Hotel (Sharm El Sheikh) as well as other less expensive hotels at special rates. Exhibition: Several pharmaceutical and biomedical equipment companies will exhibit their new products concerning existing or prospective technology for diagnosis and treatment.

Opening Ceremony and Reception: The official opening ceremony will take place at the Movenpick Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh on

Wednesday, December 7th, 1994 from 16:00 - 16:30. (Free admission for registered participants and accompanying persons). The opening ceremony will be followed by a cocktail reception at 16:30. Gala Evening: This event will take place on Friday December 9th, 1994 at 21:30. The dinner is going to be on the beach. Registered participants and their accompanying persons with their invitation cards are only allowed at the dinner site. TP/101 (Full Day Boat Trip including Lunch) This tour can be done on daily basis, starting early in the morning and ending before the sun set, including cruising on board of a private yacht to Tiran Island or Ras Mohamed (sailing time up to 8 hours), snorkung or fishing equipment are available upon request, lunch is also included (served by Movenpick). TP/102: (Full Day Visit of St. Catherine) This excursion is available daily, the drive takes 2 hours (one way) by car or motor-coach. St. Catherine is a village lies at the valley of Mount Moses, it includes one of the most well known monasteries in the world, a Greek Orthodox holy place connected with the Prophet Moses and the exodus of the Jews from Egypt, the tour will include a visit to this famous 3rd century monastery, with its 6th century church built by Justinian, a small 4th century church built by emperor Constantine next to a traditional site where Moses saw the Burning Bush, and the remarkable library of manuscripts, scripts and icons. On the way back to Sharm El Sheikh, we will take a different route with a stop at a large oasis where you can share a cup of coffee or tea with the bedouin inhabitants. TP/103: (Full Day Visit to An Oasis Including Lunch) Morning departure by car or motor-coach, drive through a scenic road to Nuweiba (approximately one and half hours drive, one way) to visit the lush oasis with palm trees and fresh water springs, while enjoying a scenery of extraordinary beauty where the greenery of the oasis is magnified by the contrast of an arid desert and the intensity of the mountain colours, return back to the hotel after sun set (available daily). TP/104: (Full Day Dahab, Taba and Ejiat including Lunch) This trip covers the famous beaches of Southern Sinai: Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba are in Egypt and Eilat is in Israel (no visa required for Egyptians or non-Egyptians, only a valid passport is required to cross the boarder), the trip starts early in the morning and ends in the evening (available daily). (*) Nationals of certain countries need an entry visa to Israel and multiple entry visa to Egypt to join this tour. Dahab: Stretches from the bedonin village of Assalah in the northern oasis at Wadi Qinai, about 87 km. from Sharm El Sheikh, the word "Dahab" in Arabic means gold, it is said that it was given by the Arab bedoums, who linked the shimmering sands to gold dust, Dahab boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in Southern Sinai. Taba: Has a unique location overlooking the Aqaba Harbor in Jordan, the Saudi Arabian mountains and Eilat Harbor in Israel, a nice sandy white beach and clear limped blue waters, coloured reefs and rare fish, Taba is the last Egyptian point on the boarder between Egypt and Israel. Eilat: Located in Israel, only 3 km. from Taba, Eilat is the natural extension of the beautiful Red Sea beaches

of Southern Sinai, with sights to visit (i.e. King Soliman Mines, Reddishpurple pillars in the desert, crater-like canyons for ambitious hikers etc...). TP/105: (2 Days / l Night Luxor ) A morning flight from Sharm El Sheikh to Luxor, where you'll be met and transferred-to your 5 stars hotel in Luxor (Movenpick or Isis), this trip includes domestic airfare Sharm El Sheikh / Luxor / Cairo, one night accommodation in Luxor on bed and buffet breakfast basis, transfers from/to airports upon arrivals and departures in Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor and Cairo and visits to the West Bank Luxor and Karnak temples. TP/106 : (5 Days/ 4 Nights Nile Cruise) A magnificent experience for a 5 days voyage down the Nile, including domestic airfare Sharm El Sheikh / Luxor-Aswan I Cairo, 4 nights accommodation on full board basis on board of a deluxe Nile cruiser (Nile Romance, Nile Beauty, Movenpick, Oberoi), transfers from/to airports in Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Aswan and Cairo in addition to visits of the sights in Luxor (as in TP/ 106) plus visits to the following places Esna: South of Luxor, contains the temple of God Khnum right in the center of the city, it is deep in a pit, reached by staircase, built by the Roman emperor Claudius. Edfu: South of Esna, it has the best preserved temple in Egypt, it stands on the western end of Edfu, mid-way between Luxor and Aswan, the sandstone temple of Horus (the Sun of God), was built under Ptolemies and completed by the mid first century B.C., ceremonies, celebrations and war scenes are shown on the walls of the temple. Kom Ombo: Was known as "Ombos" in ancient times, it is located on the Nile, where it could control the routes from Nubia to the Nile Valley and that gave it strategic importance, and when the temple of God Sobek was built there, the city became prosperous; the temple consists of crypt, chapels, Roman wells, where sacred crocodiles may have been kept, and the remains of birth house. Aswan: 900 kilometers south of Cairo, it was famous for its quarries of pink granites, and used to be a major trading center where goods were brought from the rest of Mrica, you will be able to visit the Elephantine Island, home of God Khnum, Kitchener Island, the famous Botanical gardens and headquarter of Lord Kitchener, the Agha Khan Mausoleum, where the spiritual leader of the Ismailis (a Shute sect of Islam), you will also visit the ancient granite quarries and the High Dam that was built in 1970 and the largest artificial lake in the world that is created behind the body of the dam, a visit to Philae temple complex is a must, the entire complex was dismantled and reassembled on the higher ground of Agilkia Island, it was threatened by the rising waters caused by both Aswan Dam and the High Dam. This trip can be done pro (from Cairo) or post the conference (from Sharm El Sheikh) on Saturdays or Tuesdays. TP/107: (3 Days / 12 Nights Hurghada) A trip by ferry boat from Sharm El Sheikh to Hurghada for approximately 4 hours and two nights accommodation on half board basis in a deluxe hotel in Hurgbada (Inter-Continental, Beach Albatros or Sonesta) and doinestic airfare Hurghada / Cairo, are included in this trip (available daily). Hurghada: A tranquil resort on the Hed Sea, a town ringed by mountains, desert, white sandy shore and a clear blue sea, an ideal place to relax year round, the sea is clear to a depth of 10 meters and the schools of multi coloured fish swim by almost within touching dis tance, among the fantastic reefs, Hurghada is

popular for diving, snorkling, fishing, water skiing, wind surfing, sea cruising, sailing and under water photography.
