Student Awards The Pauline Bishop Leman Memorial Award Since 1929, the Pauline Bishop Leman Memorial Award has been presented to a senior student who has made “the most outstanding artistic achievement” during the academic year. Awards have been given to students of varied majors for their creative ability and accomplishments in art, poetry and short stories, dramatic roles, music, dance, interior and fashion design, photography, and other artistic and creative contributions. The original marble and bronze memorial is located in the portico of the Old Main Building. The name of the student designated will be placed on a bronze plate at the base of the plaque and will receive a small medallion, modeled after the large plaque, as an individual trophy.
