EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY • Proven and time tested ‘Lean Burn’ gas engine technology • Ability to operate in extreme ambient temperatures • A single fully integrated advanced control system • Extended service intervals ensure high availability of equipment • Generators are designed and assembled at our own ISO 9001:2000 accredited manufacturing facility in the UK • 50 Hz / 60 Hz capability

2 Mobilisation 1

Engineering & Design After receiving notice of a contract award, the Aggreko in-house engineering team begins preparations for the mobilisation and commissioning of the project. Years of experience gives Aggreko the advantage of understanding power systems and helps our engineers to design all aspects of the turn-key power package, creating site layouts that work with the customer’s timeframe, location and power requirements.

Aggreko equipment is fully tested and prepared for shipment from its hub of strategically placed depots world-wide.

3 Site Preparation Prior to the arrival of equipment, the site is leveled and compacted, with drainage installed in order to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.

4

Equipment is positioned according to the engineered project design, which allows all around access for operations and maintenance personnel.

Aggreko Generators

Control Room

The control room can be manned or controlled remotely, giving full control of each generator through a SCADA system.

8 Transformers & Switchgear Aggreko supplies transformers for stepping voltage up or down as required, depending on the application. Aggreko transformers are containerised and are supplied complete with HV protection integrated into the circuit breaker.

Power System Configuration Generators connected to a standard transformer form the basic building blocks for the multi-megawatt Aggreko installation.

Aggreko modular generators are designed and built specifically for continuous rental applications. Prepackaged inside ISO standard 20’ containers, each generator set is rated to deliver continuous power 24/7. Automatic synchronising and loadsharing fitted as standard on every unit allows easy parallel operation between the units and with the grid.

4 MW rental package to power gas processing facility, Malaysia

An on-shore gas receiving facility located in a remote area of Malaysia required a reliable supply of power for construction, commissioning and operation of the plant. With natural gas available on-site, the facillity’s owners decided to call on Aggreko to provide a turn-key gas power package. The power package included six gas powered generators, together with fire and gas detection and suppression systems and a loadbank package to ensure the generators consistently operated at optimum power.

Using lake-bed gas for utility power, Rwanda

Lake Kivu in Rwanda is one of two lakes in the world which is categorized as an ‘exploding lake’. A combination of environmental factors causes trapping of lake bed gasses beneath the surface of the water, creating a dangerous situation where increasing pressure in the lake can cause potentially fatal gas eruptions. Faced with the need to relieve pressure from the lake in order to ensure the safety of local inhabitants, Rwandan state utility company Electrogaz asked Aggreko to design and test a solution. The initial 1.1 MW pilot project was designed and operated by Aggreko and proved that it was possible to harness the natural energy source in the lake to supply power to the national utility grid.

20 MW baseload power to support national grid, Gabon

Low rainfall in Gabon was severely affecting the country’s supply of hydro-electricity, causing power shortages and load shedding. In order to support the national grid, Aggreko was contracted to provide a turn-key 20 MW gas package. The equipment was synchronised to feed directly into the national grid and all aspects of the power package, from design, mobilisation and commissioning to operation and maintenance, were provided by Aggreko.

30 MW gas power package for grid support, Batam

The growth of industry in Batam in recent years has been unprecedented and the corresponding increase in power demand has created a situation where power shortages have been unavoidable. In order to bridge the gap between power required and power available in the short term, the local utility provider in Batam contracted Aggreko to provide a 20 MW gas power package. The 20 MW power project was such a success that the customer subsequently awarded Aggreko a further 10 MW, bringing the total power supplied to 30 MW.
