Temporary Electric Service Request This Temporary Electric Packet is for customer’s requesting ONLY temporary service. If you will need permanent service and temporary service (for example you are building a new home or business where you will need temporary service before your permanent)- please complete the Non Residential OR Residential Construction Packet. These packets contain temporary requests for customers who will transition to permanent service. Temporary service may be requested for residential or non-residential customers for a period of twelve (12) months or less; this may include single or three phase service. This packet explains what is required to construct your new electric temporary service and will guide you through the construction process. If needed, DP&L’s Construction Control Center Representatives are available on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the number listed below to help with your request for electric construction. Please note: DP&L cannot guarantee the availability of a temporary service. Temporary Electric Construction Guidelines

Customer Responsibilities:

 All electrical work must follow the DP&L Electric Service Standards Handbook on www.DPandL.com *  Fully complete the Permanent Service Application, Project Contacts & Description form and Data Sheet and return it along with a copy of the Site Plan.  By law, everyone MUST contact the Ohio Utilities Protection Service, 8-1-1 or 800-362-2764, at least 48 hours but no more than 10 working days (excluding weekends and legal holidays) before beginning ANY digging project.  Trimming or clearing of trees on your property to provide unobstructed access for installation of DP&L electric facilities.  Have grading within 6” of final grade with unobstructed access for DP&L to install facilities.  Sign and return “Authorization to Install Underground and/or Overhead Electric Facilities” form  Easements and/or right-of-way for utilities signed by property owner (when applicable).  Local and/or State inspection requirements must be met before DP&L will set the meter (please confirm inspection requirements with your local inspecting authority). In the absence of an inspecting authority a waiver needs to be signed by a licensed electrician. Please call the Construction Control Center to obtain a waiver if required.  Please note: DP&L cannot guarantee the availability of a temporary service.

Site Plan Customer must provide a detailed site plan noting the following:    

North Direction Property Lines Location of new and existing structures Location of all new and existing customer owned facilities (i.e. well/water lines, septic/sewer lines, septic fields, drain tiles, etc)  Location of proposed and/or existing driveways  Distance (feet) to the road & property lines  Location of electric panel(s) and proposed meter(s) location NOTE: Please submit a professional site plan if available.

New Service Checklist Please use this checklist to track the progress of your new service installation or construction project  DONE 1.
