scombox is developed as a data logger and telematic unit especially for mobile operations and can also be used outside of air- conditioned vehicle cabins. It is developed for a working temperature range from -40° to 85°. Equipped with IP69k protection category. scombox is also waterproof when highpressure cleaners are used. It is climate- tested with shock and vibration according to the strict ISO 16750-3:2003 standard. scombox has passed various EMC- tests successfully.

scombox has a number of interfaces and can be connected to the machine via CAN BUS which is installed in the machine construction. Additionally, up to 6 multifunctional inputs for the connection of switches as well as tachometer and analog sensors are available. scombox has also up to 4 switching outputs.

The basis of a tamper-resistant immobilizer and driver identification system is an 1-wire interface for “i-button” of the company Dallas. Tested acording to 95/96 EG scombox is licensed as a dual- channeled immobilizer for the traffic use.

scombox regularly has an implemented GSM/GPRS modem and provides the worldwide available internetaccess for the long-distance data transmission. Also under unfavorable conditions a highly sensitive GPSreceiver of the newest generation supplies positioning data.

Contents: 2x CAN bus, 2xRS232 for the connection to the control- and motorbus systems 10 in-/outputs for the acquisition of measurements, revolution speed and switch positions GPS- receiver for geometric data GSM/GPRS modem for long- distance data transmission micro- SD card for large data quantities up to 4 GB The acquisition of operating hours, including time and date, allows the verification of the contract-compliant usage of the machine. The acquisiton of data of consumption and load factor offers more transparancy for the individual calculation. By the acquisition of the operating time of the single generating sets, tailor-made maintenance can be realised saving costs.
