Calling All Gardeners: Seed Stewards Needed for Seed Lending Library The Seed Library has been a huge success! So far this year we have distributed more than 400 seed packets. Thanks to generous donations from the public, we continue to have seeds available. In order to keep the Seed Library sustainable in the coming years we need the help of Seed Stewards. Seed Stewards are individuals who are committed to growing or collecting a large amount of seeds that the library can then package and make available to the community. Audrey Armstrong is one of the Library’s Seed Stewards. Over the last 2 years she has provided hundreds of packages of common and swamp milkweed. Audrey is passionate about helping monarch butterflies and educating the public about how we can assist this threatened species. As an active presenter with the Monarch Teacher Network, she delivers workshops for adults and children in Canada and the USA. For more information on how you can become a Seed Steward please contact Carolin at [email protected] or by calling 519-376-6623 ext. 214.
