Tank Monitoring System

The SEELEVEL II™ Tank Monitor represents a massive leap forward in level measurement technology for the Recreational Vehicle industry. The SEELEVEL II™ has a combination of features, accuracy, reliability, and diagnostic capability that have never been available before.

LIQUID MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

Rev 22-Dec-14

The SEELEVEL II™ RV series is available in many different configurations to meet most any motorhome, fifth wheel or travel trailer tank configuration. Each system provides tank level information using a percentage of full readout. Detailed diagnostic information is available through the system monitor and systems are available to monitor up to 4 tanks, battery voltage and LP levels.

The History of the SEELEVEL II RV Gauge A few weeks after Garnet’s marketing manager purchased a new high end fifth wheel, the tank gauges began to fail. As he traveled full time through campgrounds and talked to other RV owners, it became apparent that this was a widespread problem with no solution. Not only was this a nuisance, but substantial flood damage to RVs was also occurring due to the primitive water and waste management systems. Since Garnet was already a successful company in level gauging for the industrial market, with unique and reliable products, it was a logical step to address the RV market with a whole new approach to tank gauging. The marketing and engineering team at Garnet collaborated to determine the features that this new gauge was to have.

Who Is the Garnet Family of Companies? Garnet Instruments Ltd. is the parent company based in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Garnet Instruments has dedicated itself to the measurement of liquid levels in all types of applications such as truck cargo tanks, portable tanks, large stationary tanks, and RV holding tanks. We have also specialized in the application of that measurement, an example of this is our line of overfill control systems for the trucking industry. All of our products and technologies are designed and manufactured in-house, and over the past 20 years we have become the dominant player in the crude oil transportation gauge business. Our thrust is to produce quality digital measurement systems which are rugged, reliable and accurate. To do this we have extensive in-house resources. Engineering makes extensive use of computer aided design and an advanced prototype lab. Manufacturing uses automated assembly and soldering machines to build the products, which are tested by skilled staff on custom test fixtures to fully exercise all parameters of the product. The shipping department uses the latest shipping software to track packages. Service uses computer databases to track products for timely repair and to maintain communication with customers. Sales makes use of a high volume color laser printer for up to date brochures and product manuals.

Garnet Technologies Inc. is the US based subsidiary, which markets, distributes, and supports the products in the United States. Both sales and service stock are maintained in the US distribution center for timely response to customer needs. Regular feedback from Garnet Technologies to Garnet Instruments ensures that customer concerns and requests are incorporated into product designs. We know that close communication and cooperation with our customers is the key to both your success and ours. The Rest of the Story... In the early days of the company we used RV’s to launch the company in the US, and spent three years setting up dealers and training installation centers for the industrial products. It was during this time that it became obvious that there was a need for a new method of holding tank measurement in recreational vehicles. In January of 1998 we installed the first SeeLeveL Monitor system in our RV and from then until late 1999 we sold only to the aftermarket to allow field testing over time. After we had a good track record and addressed minor issues, the system was offered to OEMs. Feedback from the market drove us to expand the product offering to incorporate new features and to address different price points. Results to date have been very rewarding and the feedback from the customer is excellent. The reliability has now been proven over a 18 year period with tens of thousands of systems in service.

Have you experienced unreliable readings or false full readings just after you know you have drained the tanks? Does the resolution of 1/3 or 1/4 fail to meet your needs, especially when dry camping for extended periods? The SEELEVEL II and SEELEVEL III solves these issues and more. Features

Benefits

• Field proven

• Tens of thousands of successful OEM and aftermarket installations.

• Advanced external sensing technology with unbeatable accuracy

• Dramatic reduction of false readings in waste tanks as long as the tank wall is kept clean.

• Large 0.4” LED digits for good visibility in both dark indoor and bright outdoor locations. • Compact easy to read 3 digit LED display

• Attractive interface to fit the decor of both entry level and high end RVs. • Provides accurate tank level information within 3/8 inch using a percentage of full readout.

• Measures tanks of almost any shape and size

• The sender panel can be cut to length to match the height of the tank, and it auto calibrates itself so that it can read from Empty to Full regardless of the height of the tank. • Sender panels can be cut or stacked to fit tanks from 5” to a maximum of 25” in height.

• A single wire bus connects all three senders to the display

• Easy installation

• Easy to operate

• Saves wire and avoids connection errors.

• Uses a common industry connector for easy installation and servicing. • Aftermarket installations can use existing wiring.

• RVers quickly gain confidence using the system and being able to see usage trends and gauging how much time it takes before tank draining is required. • Built in diagnostics so that if a problem did develop it could be found and repaired.

• LPG tank connection

• Portable steel LPG tanks do not offer the capability to electronically monitor tank levels. Motorhome tanks are larger and are horizontally mounted in most cases, these tanks have the fitting to be able to install the hardware and enable the SeeLevel gauge to report the tank level. In most cases the tank gauge hardware is installed in the tank for the SeeLevel gauge to be easily connected and offer a digital level report in percentages of full.

• Various models available

• In addition to measuring tank levels, some models have advanced features such as pump and heater switches, alarm outputs and RVC network compatibility to fit every type of RV configuration.

• Low cost

• Reasonably priced to make it accessible to the entire industry.

The SEELEVEL II Monitoring System The SEELEVEL II ™ system consists of a display unit that mounts inside the RV, and sender panels that stick to the side of the holding tank. A single two conductor wire is used to connect all the sender panels to the display. A second console can be installed outside by the holding tanks. 710-ES
