Taking Our Final Stand Mitchel Lee

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 10

Ephesians 6:10-20 (ESV)

Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. 14

Ephesians 6:10-20 (ESV)

To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Ephesians 6:10-20 (ESV)

BE STRONG

having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might… 18

Ephesians 1:18-19 (ESV)

Ephesians 3:20-21 (ESV)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 12

Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. Ephesians 2:1-3 (ESV)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 12

Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)

rulers and authorities far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 21

Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 12

Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)

“There is a spiritual war in progress, an all-out moral battle. God is in continuous & energetic battle against all of it. There is no neutral ground in the universe. Every square foot of space is contested.” – Eugene Peterson

PRAY

PRAY “Prayer is the heart of spiritual warfare. The very act of prayer is an admission that “there is someone greater than I” and that “I am not able.” Part of spiritual warfare is the recognition that you are not able in your own strength; you need God to hold you by the hand and fight on your behalf.”

-Clinton Arnold

praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 18

Ephesians 6:18 (ESV)

“Prayer is the communication by which the weapons of warfare are deployed according to the will of God. Prayer is for war. So I do not tire of saying to our church: The number one reason why prayer malfunctions in the hands of believers is that they try to turn a wartime walkie-talkie into a domestic intercom. Until you believe that life is war, you cannot know what prayer is for.” – John Piper
