S2DS (My Career ID 6253) In this workshop students will learn about the new and fast-growing data science industry. We will discuss the recent advances in computing and machine learning that are driving changes in large companies. Students will learn about the technical skills required in roles in data science, and the equally importantly soft skills required to work effectively in a commercial environment. Students will leave with knowledge of the state of the data science industry, trends in the future, and a practical appreciation of what hiring managers look for from candidates in this exciting field.  

Ashfield Health Care (My Career ID 6254)

Building a career in healthcare communications Ashfield Healthcare Communications will provide valuable insights into the different career paths there are within a healthcare communications agency. In addition they will discuss the difference entry level roles there are as well as the development opportunities demonstrating the type of career you can have with this type of leading global organisation.

Access Science  (My Career ID 6250) Many students won’t be available for full time work until next summer, and understandably find it difficult to think about searching and applying for jobs when busy finishing coursework and exams. This workshop will highlight key areas about how and when to plan a job search, manage expectations, and how to successfully apply for graduate opportunities within the science sector.
