PREPARATION The tools required for fitting are all readily available, off-the-shelf items: Manual mirrors: • Socket drive handle • 10 mm socket

STEPS 1, 2, 3 & 4 STEP 1 Roll both front windows completely down and then disconnect the vehicles battery. Read all instructions before proceeding to STEP 2. NOTE: If you are installing a manual mirror do not disconnect the battery.

STEP 2 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove door rear upper trim panel. The panel is held by two clips located in a vertical line down the center of the part. It can be removed by pulling the top corner of the panel rearward.

NOTE: Start with LH (driver’s side) door

STEP 3 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove the gasket to reveal three nuts which are used to hold the mirror to the door.

NOTE: If you are installing a manual mirror variant then proceed to STEP 17

STEP 4 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Remove door console switch module.This module is located by clips and can be removed by prying up gently at the two slots located on the bottom edge of the module.

NOTE: If the two clips remain in the trim after removal, they need to be replaced into the module for re-assembly.

STEPS 5, 6, 7 & 8 STEP 5 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Unplug all connectors from door console switch module.

STEP 6 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove the door handle surround panel. The surround is located by a number of clips at the rear of the part and a tongue at the front. The part can be removed, by pulling the rear of the part away from the door, and then sliding the part towards the front of the door. Pull here STEP 7 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Remove the 7 mm bolt. 7 mm bolt

STEP 8 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove door lock slide by gently prying the back of the slide outwards (with a small straight slotted screwdriver) and away from the door.

STEPS 9, 10, 11 & 12 STEP 9 MY 2003 ONWARDS ONLY Remove the 7 mm screw from the door lock slide area. 7 mm screw

STEP 10 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove the 7 mm screw from the door handle. 7 mm screw

STEP 11 PRE & POST MY 2003 Using 2 hands pull up on the door inner trim panel being careful not to completely remove it from the door, until all connectors are removed from behind the trim panel. (Refer to Steps 12 & 13 below)

STEP 12 PRE & POST MY 2003 Unplug the speaker and memory connector if equipped.

STEPS 13, 14, 15 & 16 STEP 13 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove the door light by gently pulling the light connector away from the trim panel.

STEP 14 MY 2003 ONWARDS ONLY Turn trim panel upside down for easier access to all connectors. Unplug all connectors from door console switch module.

NOTE: Connector A has a small latch that needs to be depressed with a small screw driver and then the gray lever moved to the side. Remove trim panel from the door once all connectors have been removed and put to one side. STEP 15 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Unplug mirror connector from vehicle wiring loom.

STEP 16 PRE & POST MY 2003 Pull back top right hand corner of plastic lining. MY 2003 ONWARDS ONLY The mirror harness is attached to the door sheet metal by three clips. Remove the harness by removing the black tape attaching the harness to the clips.

STEPS 17, 18 & 19 STEP 17 PRE & POST MY 2003 Undo the three nuts which were exposed in step 3.

Note: the mirror must be supported while the last nut is removed. If this is not done the mirror may fall from the door and be damaged.The nuts can be removed by using a 10 mm hex socket drive.

STEP 18 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove the mirror from the door by pulling the mirror directly away from the outer panel.

Pull loom free

The loom must be pulled out of the door panel taking care to not let it catch on any of the door structure. If this occurs the loom can be freed by feeding it in and out until the loom is no longer caught.

STEP 19 PRE & POST MY 2003 Fit the foam gasket supplied in the installation kit to the base of the new mirror. Install the new mirror to the door • Feed the wire harness through the center hole in the door (if you are installing the electric mirror type). • Slide the mirror onto the door and attach with nuts supplied. NOTE: Repeat STEPS 2 to 19 for the RH (passenger’s side) mirror. NOTE: If you are installing a manual mirror, and you have completed the above steps for both RH & LH mirrors then the installation is now complete, please proceed to STEP 36.

STEPS 20, 21, 22 & 23 STEP 20 MY 2003 ONWARDS ONLY Attach LH (driver’s side) MY2003 Multiplex harness Adaptor to the LH mirror connector as shown. The LH Multiplex harness is indicated by a red label and the right Multiplex harness by a white label. Splice together the free red wire from the mirror harness with the free red wire on the Multiplex harness. (Only if you are installing a mirror with lights). Note: For non-lighted mirrors, the red wire from the Multiplex harness can be removed. Feed the mirror harness into the door and attach to three clips on the door, using electrical tape.

NOTE:Repeat STEP 20 for the RH (passenger’s) mirror. NOTE: If you are installing an electric with heat mirror variant, your installation is now complete. Proceed to STEP 36. 2 in 1 LIGHT UPGRADE STEP 21 PRE & POST MY 2003 Pull up seal panel from the front edge, until 2 clips disengage. NOTE:You do not need to fully remove the seal panel. Pull kick panel here STEP 22 PRE & POST MY 2003 Press the foot brake pedal as far as it will go. Remove the side kick panel, by pulling the top corner in the rear direction.

STEP 23 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove the fuse panel cover by lifting the bottom edge upwards. NOTE: If installing on a post MY 2003 vehicle, this step is for the LH (driver’s side) mirror only.

STEPS 24, 25, 26 & 27 STEP 24 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove the door speaker by pushing down on the latch and pulling the speaker away from the door.

STEP 25 PRE & POST MY 2003 Remove the door side grommet at the vehicle body side only, by inserting a straight slotted screw driver between the grommet and the vehicle body, at the ribbed section of the grommet. NOTE: There is a white plastic insert inside the grommet, this must be removed with the grommet. DO NOT remove the grommet from the plastic insert. Grommet (rib) STEP 26 PRE & POST MY 2003 Feed the feeder tube through the speaker hole and into the convoluted tube of the door side grommet.

STEP 27 MY 2003 ONWARDS ONLY Using electrical tape, attach the yellow extension wire to the feeder tube at the vehicle body end.Then pull the feeder tube back through the convoluted grommet.

NOTE: Use 6 ft of yellow wire on the LH (driver’s) side and 12 ft of yellow wire on the RH (passenger’s) side.

STEPS 28, & 29 STEP 28 PRE MY 2003 ONLY

Feeder tube

Using electrical tape, attach the yellow and red wires to the feeder tube at the vehicle body end. Then pull the feeder tube back through the convoluted grommet. NOTE: Use 6ft of yellow wire on the LH (driver’s) side and 6ft of yellow wire on the RH (passenger’s) side. NOTE: Use 6ft of red wire on the LH (driver’s) side and 12ft of red wire on the RH (passenger’s) side. STEP 29 PRE & POST MY 2003 Feed one end of the yellow extension wire into the vehicles body and feed it up to and in front of the fuse panel. NOTE: For pre MY 2003 vehicles feed both the red & yellow extension wires into the vehicles body. For the RH passenger’s side, feed the yellow wire in front of the passenger’s side fuse panel. MY 2003 onwards For the RH passenger’s side mirror, feed the yellow wire all the way under the dash up to where the LH wire protrudes out in front of the driver’s side fuse panel.

PRE & POST MY 2003 Feed the other end of the yellow and red extension wires up through the inside of the door. Tape the wires to the door to keep them away from the moving parts inside the door. NOTE:You will only have a red extension wire if you are installing on a pre MY 2003 Vehicle. Connect the yellow extension wire to the yellow wire on the mirror harness.

PRE MY 2003 ONLY Attach the loose red wire from the new mirror to the red extension wire that you fed up into the door in the steps above. NOTE: Repeat appropriate STEPS from 21 to 29 for the RH (passenger’s side) mirror.

STEP 30 STEP 30 MY 2003 ONWARDS ONLY Tilt steering wheel all the way down.

Put key into the ignition and turn to “Ignition on”, depress brake pedal and move the gear lever all the way down (1st gear). Remove the dash panel by pulling it to the rear direction starting at the top LH corner.

Remove light switch assembly by de-latching 3 clips with a straight edge screwdriver and pulling out.

STEPS 31 & 32 STEP 31 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Attach the LH (driver side) mirror yellow wire to the single brown wire in location number 5 of the orange connector. You will find this orange connector at the drivers side fuse panel.

Attach yellow wire here Problems with Installation - steps 31 and 32. Mirror Affected GMC/CHEVEY 1020 Vehicle Model - Chevy Silverado & GM Sierra, post 2001MY Problem: The driver side fuse panel has only one brown wire instead of two brown wires in position six. Solution:This detail can be overlooked. Complete steps 31 & 32. Problem: On the passenger side fuse panel, there may be no orange connector, hence no place to connect the passenger side mirror yellow wire. Solution: The yellow wire operates the clearance light function on the mirror, so this needs to be wired into a suitable vehicle circuit. Extend the yellow wire so that it has enough length to wire into the circuit as identified in STEP 31. This means that the yellow wire from both mirrors will be wired into the same circuit.

STEP 32 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Attach the RH (passenger side) mirror yellow wire to the brown wire in location number 12 of the orange connector. You will find this orange connector at the passenger side fuse panel. See drawing below for wire location numbers in the orange connector. 1

STEPS 33, 34 & 35 STEP 33 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Remove two 7 mm bolts. Two 7 mm bolts

STEP 34 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Loosen the dash panel to get access for removal of the hush panel.There is no need to completely remove it.

Remove the hush panel from the dash. It is attached by two clips on the top edge. Pull the hush panel in a rearwards direction.

STEPS 35 & 36 STEP 35 PRE MY 2003 ONLY Attach the LH (driver’s side) mirror red wire to the light blue wire in location 6 on the brown connector found under the dash. It is the left most connector in a row of three connectors. See connector wire location diagram below.

Feed the RH (passenger’s side) mirror red wire under the dash and attach it to the dark blue wire in location 7 on the same connector as above. Brown connector NOTE: There are more than one dark and light blue wires in this connector, so make sure you use locations 6 & 7 as described above.

13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 NOTE: MY 2003 ONWARDS ONLY If your vehicle was previously fitted with memory mirrors, the automatic memory adjustment function on the Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter and the Ignition Key Memory Operation should be disabled. This is because the mirrors will adjust the position of the main glass when the memory function is used, and will then need to be adjusted back to their correct position. Please refer to your owner’s manual to disable this function. Step 36 PRE AND POST MY 2003 Your installation is now complete. Reverse the appropriate steps to reassemble your vehicle.
