------------- I N T R O D U C T I O N You are about to embark on a 21 Day journey unlike any other. This journey is not about moving toward a destination but rather about moving toward your destiny. You won’t receive a prize or a gift at the end of these 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting (although a steak or a slice of pizza may feel like a gift). What you will receive is far greater than food or money, success or fame; what you’ll receive is ACCESS. In Matthew 27:51 the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom as Jesus gave his life for the atonement of our sins. This symbolizes the ACCESS that you and I have as believers to come into the presence of God daily through Jesus’ sacrifice (Hebrews 10:19-22). As you read the scriptures, you’ll realize that there are three significant ways this ACCESS will impact your day-to-day life: through intimacy, authority, and provision. But just because you have ACCESS does not mean you’ve used your ACCESS. Over the next 21 Days our prayer is that you would deepen your relationship with God and begin to walk in intimacy, authority, and provision like never before. He has given you ACCESS to the Kingdom. Enter in and watch Him do greater things in 2017 (John 14:12). Pastor Zane & Pastor Waylon

------------- W E E K O N E INTIMACY DAY 1 Jeremiah 31:3 – “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued my faithfulness to you.” (ESV) God’s love for you never fades, never diminishes, and never runs out. It is inexhaustible. This season of prayer and fasting must be anchored to this truth. You are priceless to Him. His love for you is not dependent on your past mistakes or your future successes. His love for you does not waiver because of your fortune or your failings. His love for you is everlasting. God’s love is not attached to an agenda. He does not love because He desires something from you. He loves you because not loving you is impossible for Him. His everlasting love is why He can also be trusted. His love, coupled with your obedience, results in His continued faithfulness. It’s time for you to find intimacy with the Father again. This may have been a challenging year and you may now find yourself unfamiliar with His voice. It doesn’t mean He has stopped loving you. His love is everlasting. Intimacy is offered by Him and accepted by us as we draw close to Him. It’s ok to trust Him with your biggest dreams and intimidating challenges. His love will not fail you.

6

Prayer: Lord, I pray that You give me a deeper understanding of your love. I pray that I would see myself as you see me. Help me to trust Your love and your continued faithfulness. I’m sorry for the times that I put other relationships above ours. Help me over the next 21 Days to find renewed intimacy with You. Amen. Group Discussion Questions: 1. Have you ever felt that God did not love you? Why? 2. Define “love” using your own words. Does this line up with the Love of God? 3. How would understanding God’s love help you to love others differently? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 2 Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to Me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” (ESV) If God does not immediately answer our prayers, we may fall into the trap of thinking He does not care. We may also think that He is so busy with other “more important” things that He has overlooked our requests. This could not be farther from the truth. God not only answers our prayers, but He encourages us to call to Him. Intimacy with God means that He longs to hear your heart. He desires to show you things that He has in store for your life. God is waiting for you to call on Him. He is waiting for you to pursue Him as much as He pursues you. Don’t be intimidated by silence. Sometimes, silence is simply an invitation to draw closer. Silence is merely the space between the prayer asked and the prayer answered. If You haven’t already, begin to establish a habit of calling to Him. Prayer: I confess, Lord, that I do not call on You as often as I should. And when I do I confess that I may not be patient enough to receive the answer. And if I am patient enough to receive the answer, I confess that I can become upset if the result is not what I expected it to be. Give me the consistency call on Your early and often. I look forward to the secret things You have reserved for me.

8

Group Discussion Questions: 1.When is the last time you called on Him with the expectation that He would answer you? 2. How would you respond if God answered your prayers, but not how you expected? 3. Did you ever think about God’s silence being an invitation for intimacy? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 3 Zephaniah 3:17 – “For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” (NLT) He is there, with you, right now. I know, sometimes you don’t “feel” Him, but He is in your midst. God does not exist without purpose. He is working all things for the good in your life despite any evidence to the contrary. He is in your midst because He loves you. He loves being around you. He loves speaking to you and hearing from you. God cannot cease to be in your midst. He is with you when you are happy, and He is with you when you are hurting. He does not leave your side when you turn away from Him. Throughout history God has shown His love to you through acts of salvation. Welcome Him to be the Mighty Savior over your situation. Your circumstances may cause you to scream loudly or weep bitterly. You may be feeling overwhelmed by what is happening, feeling like everything is out of your control. Stand on His promise: He will quiet your fears and concerns by the strength of His love for you. He will rejoice over you and exalt you with loud singing. It may not seem like it right now, but the One who is mighty to save is preparing for victory. Prayer: I ask that You reveal to me the love that will calm all my fears. When I’m scared, I try to do things on my own and not wait for Your salvation. Help me to trust Your love, even when I don’t “feel” it or see what You are doing. I will commit to sing and rejoice in anticipation for the victory You are bringing.

10

Group Discussion Questions: 1. What can you do to begin preparing for the victory God will bring you? 2. What are some areas where you need God’s saving might? 3. Pray this week for those in your Group. DAY 4 Revelation3:20 – “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” It’s safe to say that uninvited guests may present quite the inconvenience. But what if that uninvited guest was your favorite celebrity, musician, or athlete? Would you look at their presence as an inconvenience? Absolutely not! Surely you would welcome them in and look to build a connection with them If you knew in advance they were coming, you would clean your home from top to bottom. You may buy a new outfit and you would certainly be on your best behavior. Oh if we would behave the same toward Jesus! Jesus, the preeminent One, creator of all things is standing at our door and knocking. He has invited himself over not because He is interested in a photo opportunity or because He is crossing off “community outreach” from his contractual to-do list. He genuinely wants to be with you! He wants to eat with you. You may bring the physical food, but He’s bringing the spiritual food. There are a lot of things knocking at the door of your heart. The world tends to draw your attention away from Jesus. Not everyone who knocks on your door should come into your home. Listen intently for Jesus’ voice and open the door. You’ll never regret giving Him access to your heart. Prayer: Jesus, I want to treat You with more honor and respect than any other person. I invite You into every area of my life. Help me to prepare my home in expectation of your arrival.

12

Group Discussion Questions: 1. If Jesus literally appeared at your doorstep, what would you do? 2. How are you able to discern between Jesus’ voice and everyone else’s? 3. What is one thing you may need to do different this week to hear God’s voice? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 5 1 John 4:16 – “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” (NLT) Think back to a moment you had a great time with someone. Maybe it was on a date, or perhaps you met over a cup of coffee. If it was a meaningful and memorable moment, you may find yourself thinking about that moment the rest of the day. There is a mutual abiding that happens when we grow in our intimacy with Father God. It’s not simply us coming into His presence. It’s also Him abiding in us. Even after you leave your moment with God, He won’t stop ministering to you. He’ll abide in you. He’ll continue to lead you by the Holy Spirit throughout the day. Our driest times are often the times that we don’t create room in our lives for Him to dwell. We haven’t set aside time to be in His presence. The more time you spend with Him, the more compassion and love you’ll have for those around you. If you feel like you’ve been lacking in the love area, take advantage of this season of prayer and fasting to fill up your tank. Prayer: Heavenly Father, my desire is to spend more time with You. I don’t always do as much as I’d like, or as much as I need. I want to take this moment and put my trust in Your love. I know that it is a two-way street and that as I spend time with You, You will live in me.

14

Group Discussion Questions: 1. How do you feel when you spend time with Jesus as opposed to when you don’t? 2. How does spending time with Jesus affect your ability to love others? 3. What is the best time of day for you to spend time with Jesus? What can you do to be more consistent? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 6 1 John 4:18 – “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.” (NLT) This is such a powerful scripture if you would truly take hold of its truth. Far too often we let fear, not faith, dictate our path. We allow fear to lead us because we have not learned to fully trust in the faithfulness and steadfastness of God’s love. The only way we can rely on His love is if we KNOW His love. Not just know it because we read about it, but know it because we have experienced it. When you know how much God loves you, it won’t be fear but faith that is stirred up on you during difficult seasons. You won’t flee, you’ll press in. You will gather brothers and sisters in Christ around you and you’ll begin to wage war, not retreat. Proverbs 28:1 declares, “The wicked flee when no one is chasing them, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” It’s time that you are bold, not in your own strength, but in God’s love. Allow His perfect love to cast out all fear. Believe that your intimacy with Him will give you access to His strength. Lean on Him and let faith, not fear, lead you. Prayer: I do not want to be led by fear anymore. I don’t want to be fearful of my past or my future. You have created me with purpose and as I am obedient to Your word, I believe You will give me the boldness I need to confront every fear with confidence. I will not let the enemy rob me of my destiny or scare me away from my future.

16

Groups Discussion Questions 1. Share a time when you were afraid to move forward. Did you find strength from your intimacy with God? 2. What are the fears you are fighting during this season of your life? 3. It’s only perfect love that expels all fear, and only God can give us such love. What, or who, have you relied on more than God during fearful moments? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ 17

Day 7 Isaiah 49:15-16 - “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;” It’s encouraging to know that God cannot, does not, and will not forget you. We think if God does what He’s asked then He’s remembered us, and if He fails to do what we ask, then He has forgotten us. The truth is, God is unable to forget you. He has given you access to Him because He longs to be a part of your life. We often forget about Him, but he’s always there waiting for you. He refuses to turn away. Nothing you do would cause Him to forget you. You’ve just completed your first week of your 21-Day Fast and commitment to prayer. We hope you have experienced a greater intimacy with the Lord. God has granted you access to a life-changing relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. Don’t miss out. Your greatest moments of intimacy will emerge out of your greatest moments of surrender. You are preparing to step into the second area of access: authority. Throughout the next week you’ll find that your intimacy with Him will embolden you to decree and declare His will with strength and confidence. Prayer: Father God, thank You for this week. Thank You for the times of intimacy I have experienced with You. Please don’t let me forget these moments. I pray that You would prepare me to walk in the authority You’ve granted through Your son Jesus Christ.

18

Group Discussion: 1. Have you ever felt like God had forgotten you? 2. What will you do in the coming weeks to make intimacy with God a priority? 3. What does it mean to you to know that God is INCAPABLE of forgetting you? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

------------- W E E K T W O AUTHORITY DAY 1 2 Chronicles 20:6 - and he said, “O LORD, the God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens? And are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You.” Power and might can be intimidating. Nobody likes to be bullied, pressured, or forced to do something against their will. Power and might can be intimidating… Until it is used to protect us. The authority that we have isn’t all that intimidating to the enemy. The authority we have that is undermined with sin and frailty. But the authority we have through Christ is a different story. We are not strong because of our own strength. We are strong because of who is standing behind us. In fact, in 2 Corinthians 12:9, God declares, “My power works best in weakness”. Sometimes the best thing to do is to take a step back in our flesh and a step forward in the power of the Spirit of God. Prayer: I’ve grown tired of doing things in my own strength. I haven’t gotten as far as I thought I would. It’s time that I take a step back and lean on Your strength and power. There are plenty of people and circumstances that can stand strong against me, but nothing can stand against You!

20

Group Discussion: 1. What do you do when you discover you don’t have the strength to do what needs to be done? Push harder or lean on God? 2. What is one of the hardest situations you’ve had to face? How did you respond? 3. What does it mean to “boast in your weakness”? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

21

DAY 2 Proverbs 18:21 - “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Thomas Fuller once wrote, “There is nothing that so much gratifies an ill tongue as when it finds an angry heart.” Whether you realize it or not, you have more strength, power, and authority in your tongue than in any other part of your body. We can use the authority of the tongue to develop people to their greatest potential or destroy them in slander. We can build up a confidence or tear it down. The same tongue that has led people to ending their lives has also guided them to finding life. You must understand that God has given you access and authority to be His ambassador. 2 Corinthians 5:20 states that as we are to reconcile people back to God and that He is “as if he were making His appeal through us”. What a responsibility! God is using our tongue as His own. He is giving us the authority to bring life with the words we speak. Prayer: God, I want the fruit of my lips to be praise to You. Give me the strength to walk in integrity of speech and to use my tongue to give life, not death. I confess I don’t always say the right things, but I want to. I don’t want to ruin my witness by misplaced words.

22

Group Discussion: 1. Give an example of a time when you said something that you later regretted. 2. What are some things that you can say to build others up? 3. When is the last time you used your tongue to “reconcile someone to God”? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

23

DAY 3 James 4:7 - “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” There is a humbling that comes with submission to God. While James 4:7 may seem commonplace, sometimes we do the exact opposite. We resist God and give into our sin. The result is that we establish the adversary as the voice we listen to. We begin to abide by his laws and his ways instead of the Word of the Lord. The word “resist” is a military metaphor. James is encouraging us to stand against not only Satan’s assault but also his clever temptations. Resisting the devil is a result of humbling yourself before God. The devil must flee because he’ll see that he can’t overcome the Lord to whom you’ve submitted yourself. The enemy knows that if you submit to the Lord, he can attack, but he cannot overcome. He can threaten, but he cannot conquer. He can fight, but he cannot win. You’ll find your victory in in your humble submission to God. You’ll find your strength to resist because you’ll finally understand who truly holds all authority in His hands. It is His authority of which you have access through your relationship with Jesus. Prayer: Dear Jesus, please give me the strength to submit. Help me to discover my boldness amidst my weakness. I choose to resist the devil because I know his only plan is to destroy me. I choose to follow You and I’ve chosen to make you the Lord of my life.

24

Group Discussion: 1. How hard is it for you to resist temptation, even though you know it won’t be good for you? 2. When you give in instead of resisting, how do you feel after? 3. Write out your own prayer against the devil and his temptations. What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

25

DAY 4 Luke 9:1-2 – “And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing.” Jesus didn’t just give power and authority to one of His disciples. He gave it to all twelve. God never intended the authority in the spiritual realm to be monopolized, manipulated, or levied for personal gain. His plan was to empower His followers to accomplish Kingdom work through His authority and power. With access comes authority, and with authority comes boldness. Understanding what you should do with your authority is key to operating with boldness when the opportunity presents itself. As you become more aware of the spiritual circumstances surrounding you, you’ll find the opportunity to walk in God’s authority and see miracles occur around you. Begin to pray that God would open your eye to see the need for healing in those you encounter every day and begin to declare His authority! Prayer: God, help me to walk in Your boldness. I don’t always know what to say, but You do. Help me to declare Your authority and to see Your healing and freedom come. You have empowered me to overcome, please give me the understanding to walk in Your truth.

26

Group Discussion: 1. What would happen if every believer understood their authority in Jesus? 2. What would you do if YOU walked in His authority and saw someone healed? How would that impact your faith? 3. Have you ever prayed and asked God to give you opportunities to do “Greater Things”? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

27

DAY 5 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 – “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” A single thought seldom stays a single thought. Stephen R. Covey said, “The environment you fashion out of your thoughts, your beliefs, your ideals, your philosophy is the only climate you will ever live in.” Sometimes, before we can demolish strongholds we need to conquer our thoughts. Our future will take the shape of our present thoughts. Thoughts are the inward motivation before the outward actions. Our thoughts and our prayers must be of the same Spirit. Prayer motivates God’s action. Sometimes we try to keep our thoughts and our prayers separate. We forget that God can see and judge the hearts and thoughts of us all. You must take captive these thoughts and make them obedient to Christ. Don’t let the thoughts of your flesh derail your spiritual battle. Demolish every argument and take Hold of His purpose! Prayer: God I ask that You would teach me to fight with the right weapons. Give me the strength to hold every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ and His plan for me. I know if I can master my thoughts, I can embrace my destiny in You.

28

Group Discussion: 1. Have you ever struggled with your thought life? How? 2. What do you do when a bad thought life is getting the best of you? 3. What are things scriptures tells us we should think on? (Hint: Philippians 4:8) What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 6 Revelation 12:11 - “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.” Had Jesus not shed his blood for us, we would have no means to overcome the enemy. Our authority is found in His sacrifice and in our response to His sacrifice. You are a victor based on the value of your testimony. Our positive testimony does not mean that you have not had negative experiences. It doesn’t mean that you haven’t made mistakes. On the contrary! Your testimony is that despite your mistakes and circumstances, Jesus has redeemed you, called you by name, and brought you into the family of God! The devil has no response for our testimony. He cannot negate what Jesus did for us. The blood of the lamb brought to you a forgiveness and victory that is uncontainable. Whenever the enemy seeks to rob you of your authority by reminding of you of your shortcomings, remind Him of Jesus’ victory on the cross! Your testimony is more powerful than you think! Prayer: I declare the blood of Jesus over my life, my family, my job, and my circumstances. I refuse to die in defeat when Jesus lived in victory. My testimony is my encouragement and reminder of God’s faithfulness yesterday, today, and forever. I will not let the enemy claim victory over what He has already been defeated. Amen.

30

Group Discussion: 1. Have you ever used the power of your testimony? Explain. 2. How does it make you feel when you understand the enemy has already lost? 3. Does realizing the victory through the blood of Jesus help you move past your past? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

31

DAY 7 Matthew 28:18-20 - Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Jesus was getting ready to leave His disciples, but before He did so they had to understand what they were stepping into. They were going to make disciples of nations! What a heavy workload and responsibility! God has not just saved you FROM your past, He has saved you TO your future! All authority has been given to Jesus, and it is in Him that we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). In other words, we are His representatives carrying His message and His charge. This is the plumb line for our purpose. Everything should come back to us going, making disciples, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey. The Kingdom of God multiplies as we step into His authority and follow His plans. We can get so caught up with our little kingdoms that we forget about His Kingdom. Seek first to grow, populate, and enlarge His Kingdom and He will be sure to tend to yours (Matthew 6:33)! Prayer: There are times when I am more concerned about my own little kingdom and I forget about Yours. Give me the endurance and boldness to embrace Your principles. Help me to have confidence in Your faithfulness and promises. I know You will always be with me, help me to live like it.

32

Group Discussion: 1. What does it mean to you to know that God has saved you TO something? 2. What do you think the disciples were thinking when Jesus gave them the Great Commission? 3. What are you currently doing to fulfill the Great Commission? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

------------- W E E K T H R E E PROVISION DAY 1 Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will supply every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Aren’t you glad God doesn’t supply all your needs according to YOUR riches? The reality is not all our needs are financial. God’s faithfulness does not start or stop with financial blessings. He desires to supply your physical, spiritual, and relational needs as well. We often gauge God’s faithfulness according to our checking or savings account. We may forget to thank God for the health of our family, our jobs, and more. This doesn’t mean everything will be perfect, as we live in a fallen world. It does mean that we can declare the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:12-13: I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. The hope we have in God is not temporal. It is eternal. This means that God will ultimately meet all our needs as we step into eternity. This hope allows us to find joy in the most desperate of situations. It’s time to believe for Jesus’ provision in your life in 2017. It begins with thanksgiving for all He has already done, and praising Him for what He will do. Access to the Father means access to what He desires to give you.

34

Prayer: Thank You for giving me so much Lord! I thank You for my relationships, the breath in my lungs, and all the things that I may take for granted. Thank You for the things You’ve protected me from, both the things I know of and the things I don’t. I know the things that matter are eternal. Give me a Kingdom mindset and help me to find contentment in the hope I have in You. Group Discussion: 1. Did you ever stop and think that God has provided for you in ways you have not seen? How does that make you feel? 2. What areas of your life are you currently praying for provision? Financial, Spiritual, or Relational? 3. What do you think it takes to have the same outlook the Apostle Paul had? Do you think you could become content in all situations? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ 35

DAY 2 Psalm 23:1 – “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” The primary responsibilities of the shepherd are to tend to the flock. That means providing protection and provision. The sheep will occasionally venture into dangerous areas and it is the role of the shepherd to guide, but also correct their course. The 23rd Psalm declares that the rod and the staff of the shepherd provide comfort. The rod was often use to fend off predators and hit the sheep if they began to roam. The staff was used to guide. Both the rod and the staff comfort because they keep the sheep in the best possible positions for survival. Be sure to keep the Lord as your shepherd. He will guide you, protect you, and provide for you. Over the next few months you may be tempted to allow someone else to become your shepherd. Maybe it’s your boss, spouse, a friend or a family member. While they may care for you, it’s the Lord as our shepherd that lead us to a place of provision. The challenge isn’t in being a sheep, it’s in following the right shepherd. Prayer: The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

36

Groups Discussion: 1. Is someone, or something, acting as your Shepherd rather than the Lord? 2. How do you discern the difference between a “want” and a “need”? 3. How does positioning the Lord as our Shepherd meet our wants? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 3 Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? We don’t always feel worthy of what God desires to give us. Sin makes us ashamed and makes us feel undeserving. Sin causes us to forget our value. Your value does not change because of the mistakes you’ve made. God still loves you and it doesn’t make Him care for you less. Jesus asks a rhetorical question, “Are you not much more valuable than they?” You should know the answer to this, but our mistakes can cloud our spirits. They can cause us to look at God like we look at ourselves. You can take a twenty-dollar bill and wrinkle it up. You can drop it in a puddle of mud or step on it with dirty shoes. The reality is when you go to spend that twenty-dollar bill, it will still be worth twenty dollars. When you begin to think about whether you have disqualified yourself from God’s provision, you haven’t. His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:23). Tomorrow morning, delight in the fact that He desires to bless you and provide for you because He loves You. Prayer: Lord, help me to remember my value. I am Your son/daughter and You love me just as I am. You are willing to provide for birds, I know You will provide for me. I refuse to let my past alter my value in the present. Thank You for assigning my value and refusing to let it change. Amen.

38

Group Discussion: 1. How do you view your value? 2. How does it make you feel knowing that your value doesn’t change in God’s eyes? That while you were still a sinner He was willing to give everything for you? 3. Does knowing your value in Him make it easier to follow Christ? Why or Why not? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 4 Hebrews 13:5 – Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Proper companionship is part of God’s Kingdom intent. When we are not connected to the right people or things, we feel empty and lacking. There is a correlation between being content with what we have and with who we have. One day everything you own will end up in the trash. But a proper relationship with Jesus is eternal. He will never leave or forsake you. This is not a claim for divine poverty. This does not mean that you should not make money, have money, or use money. It simply means that your love should be only for the one who will never leave you. Being content with what you have is not just about what you have now. It’s also with what you will have. Salvation is the greatest form of provision that God could possibly give. Being “free” from the love of money also implies that you could be held captive by it. In an effort to control money, it may end up controlling you. The most important provision God has for you is not finances. The greatest provision given us is a relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ. Prayer: There are a lot of different things that I can rely on, and if I’m not careful I can let the love of money drive me to care more about the provision of money than the provision of Jesus. Keep me aware. I don’t want my desire of provision to become a love of money and a hatred for You.

40

Group Discussion: 1. How hard is it to put aside your reliance on things to make you content and to put your faith in Jesus? 2. If Jesus promises to never leave or forsake you, what makes us want to trust money more than Him? 3. How do you keep the balance between striving for financial prosperity and yet not loving money? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 5 Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” We don’t look at rest as a commodity. After all, you don’t purchase ‘rest’ for your family for Christmas or birthdays. You can’t get ‘rest’ at a discounted rate during Black Friday. It’s one of those things you may never quite feel like you have enough of, yet here we are seemingly longing for it. Life can at times be exhausting and we may struggle to find rest, whether mental, physical, or spiritual. This is a benefit of having access to Jesus. It is when we feel overwhelmed this divine access becomes so valuable. We cannot speak about the provision of God without recognizing that He is able to give rest to our souls. You were never created to be limitless. God has created us to function within margin and when our lives get out of alignment we can feel like we have nothing left to give. You have been fasting and praying over the last 2 weeks and you may have been battling the attacks of the enemy. You may have just come off a challenging year. Jesus can give you rest. Align your priorities with His Word and you’ll find that rest will come. Go to Him, He is waiting on you. Prayer: I’m tired. I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to rest. I know it means that I may be out of alignment. I need to be humble and stop trying to do it on my own. I’m coming to You and I’m asking You to give me rest. Give me wisdom to know what my priorities should be according to Your best plan for my life.

42

Group Discussion: 1. Have you ever been so exhausted that you never thought you’d receive the rest you need? 2. What caused you to get to that point? 3. How does coming to Jesus give us rest? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

DAY 6 Psalm 37:25-26 – “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread. He is ever lending generously, and his children become a blessing.” David was a man who walked with the Lord and had a heart that sought Him. David, obviously, had his share of moral issues. He did not always make the best decisions, but over the course of His life he stayed the course and kept his heart committed to God. He was willing to walk in obedience and, when needed, receive discipline. He understood that God was not drawn to a perfect person, but a repentant one. It was within this scope of obedience that David saw the faithfulness of God. He realized that if he would uphold his part, God would uphold His. As a result, the righteous walked in a manner of provision that the wicked could not obtain. God never turned His back on them. It doesn’t mean that they didn’t have hard times. David had his share. At the end of His life He was able to look back and realize that God’s hand was on him the whole time. I know it may not seem like it right now, but as you walk in obedience you too will see God’s hand on you and yours. He will not forsake you. In fact, he is ever lending generously. The result of the righteous receiving a blessing is that they also become a blessing. The blessings of the righteous become generational. Your righteousness does not begin and end with blessings to you. It extends to those that come behind you. Prayer: Thank You for always providing for me. I know I may not always get what I want but I know at the end of my life You will have proven Yourself faithful. I also know that You will continue to be faithful for eternity to come. Help me to leave be a blessing and leave a blessing to those around me. 44

Group Discussion: 1. Can you think about a time that God was faithful, even though you didn’t realize it at the time? 2. What role does obedience play in God’s faithfulness? 3. Did you ever consider the idea that the blessings that come to you should go through you to others as well? What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ 45

DAY 7 John 1:16 – “From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.” John’s declaration was so wonderfully appropriate. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. Jesus chose to walk with humanity, enduring sorrow, hardship, joy, and suffering. He was tempted yet did not sin. It is from His surrender, even to the cross that we receive gracious blessings. But not just one, blessings upon blessings. There is an old hymn called Count Your Blessings published in 1897. Sure, hymns are not sung in abundance these days, but the words are pertinent. You may not know the tune, but you’ll find great meaning in the lyrics. When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings, name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done. Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly, And you will keep singing as the days go by. When you look at others with their lands and gold, Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold; Count your many blessings—*money cannot buy [*wealth can never buy] Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high. So, amid the conflict whether great or small, Do not be discouraged, God is over all; Count your many blessings, angels will attend, Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

46

When you’re feeling that nothing is lining up the way it should, or you’re just having one of those days, perhaps it’s time to simply count your blessings. The more you think about the things God has given you, you may end up repeating the words of John realizing you’ve received blessings upon blessings. Prayer: I want to take this time and say thank You. (Begin to thank God for all He has done. Think of every blessing that you can.) Group Discussion: 1. What happens when you stop to count your blessings? 2. What happens when you focus on what you DON’T have? 3. This week write down as many blessings as you can and begin to thank God for them. What is God saying to me? __________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________

------------- T H E L O R D ’ S P R A Y E R One day Jesus was praying in a certain place, When He finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray...” (Luke 11:1) “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.” (Matthew 6:9-73)

1. CONNECT WITH GOD RELATIONALLY.

“OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN...” You have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15 NLT)

God loves for us to call Him our Father. Establish your intimate relationship with Him and thank Him for the relationship you have with Him. 2. WORSHIP HIS NAME.

“... HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME ...” God’s name is a place of protection - the righteous man can run there and be safe.” (Romans 8:15 NLT)

What are His Names? Righteousness - He makes me clean Sanctifier - He has called me and set me apart Healer - He heals all my diseases Banner of Victory - He has defeated my enemy Shepherd - He speaks to me and leads me 50

Peace - He is my peace in every storm Provider - He supplies all of my needs 3. PRAY HIS AGENDA FIRST.

“... YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN...” He will always give you all you need from day to day if you will make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. (Luke 12:31, TLB)

God’s priorities: Saving the Lost Guiding those in authority - parental, spiritual, governmental, workplace His will in us 4. DEPEND ON HIM FOR EVERYTHING.

“... GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD...” I look up to the mountains - does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! (Psalm 121:1-2, NLT)

Ask God for what you want and need and the trust Him for the answer. 5. GET YOUR HEART RIGHT WITH GOD AND PEOPLE

“... FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS...” If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

51

Ask God to check your heart and motives. Receive His forgiveness for any area that He brings to mind. Forgive anyone who has offended you in any way. You can even forgive people in advance. 6. ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE.

“... AND DO NOT LEAD US INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM THE EVIL ONE ...” For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)

Take your stand against the enemy and fight the good fight of faith. Every lie that the enemy has told you should be replaced with the truth of God’s Word. 7. EXPRESS FAITH IN GOD’S ABILITY.

“... FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY FOREVER ...” “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” (Jeremiah 32:17)

End your prayer time by reminding yourself of God’s ability. Return to praise and make your faith declarations. “Yours is the Kingdom” - all rule belongs to You “Yours is the Power” - all mightiness flows from You “Yours is the Glory” - Your victory shall be complete

52

------------- TA B E R N A C L E P R A Y E R The Tabernacle was the dwelling place of God where He met His people. As they entered the Tabernacle, they passed through seven stations as a protocol to God’s presence. Today, these same steps can help us to connect with God and lead us through important elements of prayer. 1. THE OUTER COURT - THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. (Psalm 100:4)

As the people of God entered the Tabernacle, they came in with thanksgiving on their lips. Thanking God for all the blessings in your life is a great way to begin. Every day, think of a fresh reason why you love and appreciate God. 2. THE BRAZEN ALTAR - THE CROSS OF JESUS. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefitswho forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:2-5)

In the Old Testament, everyone who had committed sin had to bring animal sacrifices. Jesus paid for all your sins once and for all. You simply need to receive the benefits of what Jesus did for you. Salvation - God forgives all my sin Healing - God heals all my diseases Redemption - God rescues me from every attack Transformation - God puts His love in me Provision - God provides everything I need

54

3. THE LAYER - CLEANSING AND PREPARING Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1)

The next step in the Tabernacle was a bowl of water where people could wash. Checking your hearts and motives and then surrendering your life to God is an important part of daily prayer Here are some ways to keep your heart right with God. Repent from any known sin. Offer your body to God. Your tongue - to speak good and not evil Your eyes - to see God and the needs of others Your ears - to be sensitive to His voice Your hands - to do good to others Your feet - to walk in God’s ways Offer your mind to God (Philippians 4:8; Romans 12:2) Ask God to give you the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) 4. THE CANDLESTICK - THE HOLY SPIRIT. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD. (Isaiah 11:2)

The next piece of furniture in the Tabernacle was a seven branched golden candlestick. The fire represents the Holy Spirit Every day you should invite the presence of the Holy Spirit into your life.

The Spirit of the Lord The Spirit of Wisdom The Spirit of Understanding The Spirit of Counsel The Spirit of Might The Spirit of Knowledge The Fear of the Lord You should also ask God to give you spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 12:8-10)

55

5. THE TABLE OF SHEWBREAD - THE WORD OF GOD. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8).

A table with twelve loaves of bread represents the importance of reading God’s Word for daily sustenance. With this in mind, here are ways to nourish your soul Read God’s Word. Claim His many great promises Ask for fresh revelation of the Word. Take time to read and meditate on the Word. Get a Word for the day 6. THE ALTAR OF INCENSE - WORSHIP. The name of the LORD is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe . (Proverbs 18:10)

A small altar of burning incense stood at the entrance to the Holy of Holies, where God’s presence dwelt This altar represents worship The people of God literally entered God’s presence worshiping the Names of God, including: God is My Righteousness - Jeremiah 23:6 God is My Sanctifier - Leviticus 20:7-8 God is My Healer - Exodus 15:26 God is My Provider - Genesis 22:14 God is My Banner of Victory - Exodus 17:15 God is My Peace - Judges 6:24 God is My Shepherd - Psalm 23:1 God is Always There - Ezekiel 48:35

56

7. THE ARK OF THE COVENANT - INTERCESSION I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)

The final place in the Tabernacle was the place where God’s presence dwelt It was there that the priest interceded on behalf of the people. In the New Testament, you and I are all called priests and instructed to intercede for others. Those in authority - spiritual, civil, family, and workplace My family My church - pastor, small group, members, and vision/mission My city, nation, and world My needs

57

------------- W A R F A R E P R A Y E R S Prayer is not only communion with God; it is confrontation with the enemy. These prayers are very helpful in spiritual warfare. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:71-78)

THE ARMOR OF GOD (based on Ephesians 6:13-17) “Thank You, Lord, for my salvation. I receive it in a new and fresh way from You and I declare that nothing can separate me from the love of Christ and the place I have in Your kingdom. I wear Your righteousness today against all condemnation and corruption. Cover me with Your holiness and purity-defend me from all assaults against my heart. Lord, I put on the belt of truth. I choose a lifestyle of honesty and integrity. Expose the lies I have believed, and show me the truths I need today. I choose to live for the Gospel in every moment Show me where You are working and lead me to it. Give me strength to walk daily with You. I believe that You are powerful against every lie and assault of the enemy You have good in store for me. Nothing is coming today that can overcome me because You are with me. 64

Holy Spirit, show me the truths of the Word of God that I will need to counter the traps of the enemy Bring those Scriptures to mind today Finally, Holy Spirit, I agree to walk in step with You in everything as my spirit communes with You in prayer throughout the day.” THE WEAPONS OF WARFARE (based on 2 Corinthians 10:4-5) “Father, Your Word says that no weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Therefore I declare that no weapon formed against me prospers this day or any day to come in Jesus’ name. Your Word says that trouble will not arise a second time (Nahum 19). Therefore I declare that the adversary cannot make trouble for me again, in this manner, as he did in the past in Jesus’ name. I declare all of these prayers accomplished and brought to pass by trusting you through faith and expectation in the name of Jesus. Lord Jesus, I confess to You all of my sins this day, yesterday and every day past. I repent and renounce them, those known and unknown, those of omission and commission, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. I lay down at Your feet all of the sins of the flesh, the tongue, and of the heart, and all unholy thoughts and actions. Thank You, Lord, for shedding Your precious blood for me. This day and each and every day I ask for protection over my spouse; each of my children ; our immediate family members, relatives, friends, and acquaintances; and lastly for myself. I also ask today for protection during all of our travels; for our provision, finances, possessions, health, safety, and welfare. I put all of these things under the covering of Your precious blood and declare that the adversary cannot touch them, on this or any day to come. I stand on Your Word. The enemy is driven out from before me, above me, around me, and below me; from my home, workplace, church and its ministries, children, and loved ones; from my works 65

and labors, land, and my presence. I declare that he is not able to stand against me, and his works are taken captive and destroyed. No weapon formed against me will prosper, for the Spirit of the Lord shall raise a standard against them. I declare all of these things accomplished by Your Word. Jesus, my Lord, I give you thanksgiving, praise, glory, honor and worship for Your righteousness and holiness given to me by Your Word on my behalf.” PROTECTION PRAYER (based on 2 Corinthians 6:14 - 7:1; 10:3-5; Romans 12:1-2) “Heavenly Father, I bow in worship and praise before You. I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ as my protection. I surrender myself completely and unreservedly in every area of my life to You. I take a stand against all the workings of hell that would hinder me in my prayer life. In the name of Jesus, I command all demonic spirits to leave. I bring myself under the covering of the blood of Jesus. I resist all the endeavors of hell and any wicked spirits to rob me of the will of God. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. I pull down every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ and loose into myself a sound mind.” GENERAL CONFESSION PRAYER (based on Romans 10:10; James 5:16; 1 John 1:7-9, 3:8) “Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. You are the Messiah, come in the flesh to destroy the works of the devil. You died on the cross for my sins and rose again the third day from the dead. I now confess all my sins and repent I receive your forgiveness and ask you to cleanse me from all sin. Thank You for redeeming me, cleansing me, Justifying me, and sanctifying me in Your blood.”

66

FORGIVENESS PRAYER (based on Matthew 6:14-15; Leviticus 19:18) “Lord, I have a confession to make. I have not loved, but have resented certain people and have unforgiveness in my heart. I call upon You, Lord, to help me forgive them. I do now forgive (name them). I also forgive and accept myself in the name of Jesus Christ.” PRIDE PRAYER (based on Proverbs 11:2, 16:18, 26:12; 1 Timothy 3:6) “Father, I come to You in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know pride is an abomination to You. I renounce anything that would cause me to have pride in my heart in dealing with other people. I renounce these and turn away from them. I humble myself before You and come to You as a little child.” Study Proverbs 6:16-19 and remember that fasting is a means by which a person humbles himself before the Lord. GENERATIONAL BONDAGE PRAYER (based on Exodus 20:4-6, 34:7; Numbers 14:18) “In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I now renounce, break, and loose myself from all bondages or bonds of physical or mental illness upon me, my family or family line as the result of parents or any other ancestors. I thank You, Lord, for setting me free.”

67

------------- F A S T I N G I N F O & GUIDELINES FASTING & PRAYER 2017 is here and we are so excited to start it off together. Our church has been called to a 21 day fast with a corporate three-day fast. We believe that these days will be critical to prepare our hearts as we go into the New Year. We would like to invite you to join us. Not only will this be a life changing experience, but it will also impact all of us as a church. Fasting is not something new to Victory so we know that it works. We would like to encourage you to take this time to expect something great. WHAT IS FASTING? Fasting is a time set apart for God when you abstain from what you crave and go to a deep level with Him. In the Bible fasting meant to abstain from food, but you can also fast from other things that can be a distraction from time with God, like social media and television. Fasting is not a way to get God’s approval or favor through self-denial. The Bible tells us that Spirit led fasting helps break oppression and bondage. Fasting is scriptural and Jesus taught it. The early church did it and so did many others. They all saw breakthroughs in their situations and prayers were answered. HOW LONG SHOULD I FAST? It’s totally up to you because it’s voluntary. Since we are fasting together it does make it easier to keep each other accountable and to help encourage others. If you have never fasted before then you will want to ease yourself into it. Make a plan of how long you are going to fast and what you are fasting. Set some goals of what you want to see happen during this time. You know what you can and can’t handle so don’t set unrealistic goals, especially if this is your first time. Try and pace yourself. If you break your fast then just start over, but at the same time, be faithful in your commitment. God will help you and give you 70

Pray and ask God on how much you should fast. 2. Always drink plenty of water. 3. Do not fast if you have medical or dietary conditions. Check with your doctor if you have any questions. 4. Do a “partial” fast where you eat basic food for energy, but restrain from delicacies like dessert and snacks. · Fast things like TV or recreational activities · Add extra times of prayer beyond your normal pattern of prayer 5. Use the time where you would normally eat or snack to pray and spend time with God. · A practical thing you can do is take small breaks during your day to pray. You can use the time where you would normally eat lunch or a snack to really seek God. · Meet with others to pray in person or over the phone. · Really dig into your Bible for spiritual nourishment 6. Don’t be discouraged. Some people get headaches or feel weak. Not everyone feels the effects of fasting immediately. 7. It is wise to conclude your fast with a light meal. (Soup or a breakfast type meal without meat is recommended.) This will help your body adjust to an increased intake of food.
