What you should know You get breakfast at the hostel every morning. On the first day of the congress you will get your personal coupons for lunch which will take place at the canteen of the university every day. Dinner will be prepared by us or we go out to eat at different places. It is very important to be on time because the schedule of the congress is very tight. Please inform us early enough about your exact arrival time in Dresden. We will then consider your arrivals in order to welcome you properly.

Accommodation Hostel “Mondpalast” Dresden Hostel Mondpalast is located right in the trendy district called Dresden-Neustadt. Right in the neighborhood there are a lot of bars, cafes, shops, parks and the beautiful Elbe riverbanks. Also a tram and bus station is nearby. You will be accommodated in 3-6 bed rooms. How to get to the hostel … from the airport in Dresden If you travel to Dresden by airplane you will be picked up by one of us at the terminal in Dresden. Just in case you need to travel by yourself, you can catch a train from the airport to the city. The airport’s train station (S-Bahn) is on the lower level of the terminal building. You have to ride the Line S2. It takes you about 20 minutes to travel to Dresden-Neustadt where you have to get off. Resume with the text below.

… from the train station Dresden-Neustadt Leave the train station and find a tram stop out front. Take the 11 BÜHLAU tram 11 (direction Bühlau) rd and get off at the 3 stop called Pulsnitzer Straße, then walk 200m along Pulsnitzer Straße up to Louisenstraße and turn left. Walk 150m and see the hostel (house number 77) on your right hand side. … from the main station Dresden-Hauptbahnhof You have to take the tram 7 (direction Weixdorf) and get off at the 7th stop Louisenstraße. Then walk 650m eastbound along Louisenstraße up to house number 77 on the left hand side. … by car Coming from highway A4, take the exit DresdenHellerau and follow the main road (B170) into the city. Then turn left at the first traffic light after the SHELL gas station into Fritz-Reuter-Straße. By crossing two more traffic lights strain the roads name becomes Bischofweg. After you see a park on your left hand side, turn right into Kamenzer Straße. Proceed about 300m up to Louisenstraße 77 where the hostel is at. In case of any problem or doubt please contact us!

Congress Rooms The congress will be opened in the festival room (Festsaal) of the Hülsse-Bau building on the university campus. The first business meeting (monday) will also be held there. For the rest of the congress the business meetings will be held in lecture room 112 of the Potthoff-Bau building on the university campus. Every day a member of the organization team will pick you up at the hostel and accompany you to the congress room. We will take the tram to get there, so it is important to be on time. However, if it is necessary for you to get to the congress rooms by yourself, the addresses are: Hülsse-Bau Helmholtzstraße 10 01069 Dresden

Get there starting from the tram stop Louisenstraße by taking the tram 8 (direction Südvorstadt). Get off at the 11th stop Nürnberger Platz. There you have to pass the crossroads and enter Hettnerstraße. Find the Potthoff-Bau building on your left hand side.

About Dresden The city of Dresden is with its beauty and elegance a modern cultural metropolis with important ties to the past. Dresden is the capital city of the German Federal Free State Saxony. The Elbe Valley, in which the city is situated, is a unique and charming combination of natural beauty and significant architecture. Much of the city's Baroque center has been restored to its former loveliness and elegance. The Frauenkirche Dresden was destroyed during the bomb attack on Dresden in 1945. Since 1994 Dresden

has been engaged with the reconstruction of the church. The Frauenkirche with its beautiful sandstone facade now once more dominates the townscape of the historic district of Dresden (Altstadt). It was officially reopened in 2005. As it is the most famous sight in Dresden it inspired to incorporate its shape into the logo of the AMEAC Dresden 2011.

Frauenkirche Since Germany’s reunification in 1990, Dresden has reemerged as a cultural, political and economic centre in the eastern part of Germany.
