The Parks and Recreation Division is thrilled to present the 2018 Summer Program Guide.

The Guide will include new programs, exciting events and summer original favorites. In addition, we will be introducing our summer initiative "Operation: Commit". This initiative is geared to encourage a healthy lifestyle in Wickenburg. From hiking to biking to tumbling classes, there is so much to do this summer and we encourage you to take part in it all. Thank you and we are looking forward to the best summer yet.

FITNESS CHALLENGE Are you up to the challenge? The Town of Wickenburg is on a mission: to help Wickenburg stay active, healthy and happy all through the summer! We challenge you to join in Operation: Commit by participating in various programs that will help you be the healthiest version of you.

These programs include:
Wickenburg Parks: Fitness Challenge There is something going on at a Wickenburg park everyday of the week. We encourage you to attend them all! Wickenburg Trails Series Join us for a Sunrise Hike on one of Wickenburg's beautiful trails led by a designated guide. Online Nutrition and Cooking Classes A healthy you starts from the inside. Learn techniques from a certified dietitian and receive fun recipes to try in your own kitchen.
Throughout this summer program guide you will find challenges and spaces to receive stamps. Make sure, after you participate in a challenge, you ask the Town of Wickenburg staff member at that location to stamp your book. COMPLETE ALL 5 CHALLENGES AND BE ENTERED TO WIN SOME EXCITING PRIZES!

ADULT SOFTBALL LEAGUE @ Sunset Park Get your team together and have fun. Game balls and bases will be provided. Teams must supply their own uniforms and team equipment. Payment and all waivers must be submitted by June 7th Time: 6:30-9:30 p.m. Dates/Days: Tues & Thurs Ages: 16 and older Fee: $250 per team Registration packets available at Town Hall or Library. Team Manager meeting Tuesday, June 12th. First game June 14th.

A great program for parents and tots to get comfortable in the water together. The class will be led by swim instructors and focuses on proper safety techniques in the water. Children are required to wear a swim diaper at all times in the water.

Junior Lifeguard Program Wickenburg Wahoos Swim Team An excellent way to get prepared to be a lifeguard. Participants will be introduced to water safety and first aid by our current lifeguards. (This class does not give certifications).
Time: 9-11 a.m. Days: Tues-Thur Dates: July 10-12 Fee: $38
Join the Wickenburg Wahoos Swim Team this summer! All new swimmers must pass a swim test to show they are ready to swim on their own and learn the four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Compete in approximately 4 meets in Wickenburg and 3 in the West Valley.
Swim Tests available May 14th through May 17th from 5-6pm. Practices May 14-24 (Mon-Thur) Age 6 and under: 4-4:40pm Age 7-10 years: 4:30-5:30pm Age 11 and over: 5:30-6:30 pm NEW practice schedule after Memorial Day! World's Largest Swimming Lesson
A great program that builds awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. On June 21st water parks, pools and other aquatic facilities around the globe will host swim lessons in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record. All participants will receive a GWR certificate of participation. Time: 10:30 am-12 pm Date: June 21st Ages: All Ages Fee: FREE
