This report is intended to provide an overview of the campus wide maintenance, construction, and renovation projects that were performed and/or managed by CSU Chico Facilities Management and Services (FMS) during the 2015 Summer Break (May 18 – August 24, 2015). Campus Data Center UPS Installation/Upgrade

Farm Modular Classrooms Installation

Installed a new 48x40 modular building that the University Farm can use for conferences as an improved option other than the Pavilion. The new space can be divided into two (2) additional classrooms that will alleviate Farm class scheduling challenges. B. Coakley

Glenn Hall Space Alterations to Faculty Offices, Business Sales Center, and Student Success Center (Phase1) Project Description Project coordinator
Converted underutilized lounge, kitchen & conference room spaces to 5 private faculty offices. 202/204 areas were renovated to create larger Student Success Center with break‐out study rooms. Old Student Success Center converted to College of Business Sales Center. K. Gilmet

Holt Hall 171, 175, 187, 189, 257 Smart Classrooms Refresh Project Description Project coordinator
Removed falling ceiling tiles, installed new drop ceilings, window shades, Smart Classroom equipment, white boards, and new floor covering; improved HVAC distribution; and repaired and painted walls in five (5) classrooms in Holt Hall. S. Lingsch

Installation of Interior 3 in 1 Recycling Bins ‐ Campus wide Project Description Project lead
Placement of 20 new recycling bins approved by Campus Conservation Committee and funded by VPBF into Phase I buildings: Acker Gym, Butte Hall, Holt Hall, Kendall Hall, Modoc Hall, O’Connell Tech Center, Performing Arts Center, Physical Science Building, Tehama Hall, Yolo Hall. Meriam Library 045 ‐ 2 Way Video Classroom Project Description Project coordinator
MLIB 045 was remodeled with new lighting, paint, wall coverings, and floor coverings. Relocated and installed equipment to create a state of the art video (distance learning) classroom S. Lingsch

Performing Arts Center 144 Lights Upgrade Project Description Project coordinator
All Harlen Adams Theater lighting and related controls were replaced with LED lighting and DMX control system for energy efficiency and improved control technology. K. Gilmet

Performing Arts Center Band Room Refresh Project Description Project manager
Flooring deficiencies were corrected by removing old vinyl tile flooring, infilling former tiered floor and installing improved vinyl flooring. At the same time this Band Room was refreshed with new lighting, new paint, acoustical treatments, and recording infrastructure installed P. Strawn

Physical Sciences 322 NMR Spectrometer Installation Project Description Project manager
Installed new nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer in PHSC 322. Upgraded electrical and HVAC, and installed safety controls D. Sprague

Yolo Hall 217, 218, 234, and 258 Alterations Project Description
Project coordinator
Converted 2 outdated computer labs into 1 large classroom (Yolo 234) with large touch‐screens and teaching technology similar to THMA 116. Converted 2 classrooms and auxiliary spaces into 2 smart classrooms (Yolo 217/218). Converted 1 space into 2 large faculty offices (Yolo 258 & 258A.) Upgraded ADA access and installed water efficient fixtures in second floor restrooms. Installed ADA‐compliant Hi/Lo drinking fountain with hydration station K. Gilmet

Butte Hall Elevator Modifications Project Description Project manager
Retained elevator consultant to make recommendations for improvements to elevator reliability. Installed modified mechanical guides to improve elevator reliability. D. Sprague

Classroom Painting Project Description Project lead
FMS Carpenters and Painters installed chair rails and painted 54 classrooms per revitalized annual classroom paint plan in following buildings: Butte Hall – 23 classrooms; Tehama Hall – 19 classrooms; Yolo Hall – 12 classrooms (paint only) D. Sprague/FMS Paint Shop

Floor Maintenance and Waxing ‐ Campus wide

Annual floor maintenance that included stripping and waxing of building classrooms and corridors floor surfaces. FMS Custodial

Holt Hall Classrooms Ceiling Tile Removal Project Description Project lead
Removed loose and falling ceiling tiles in 21 Holt Hall classrooms. Ceilings will be repainted during the upcoming term as scheduling permits. S. Taylor, FMS Maintenance

Holt Hall East Entrance Drainage Installation Project Description Project lead
New drains and concrete flatwork were installed at the east entrance to Holt Hall to correct longstanding drainage and flooding problems at this entrance. P. Strawn, FMS Maintenance

Holt Hall Exterior Water Intrusion Repairs Project Description Project leads
Northeast side of Holt Hall was excavated to expose below grade structure for replacement of waterproofing membrane and installation of French Drain to correct water intrusion into this building. Installed new roof materials and flashing on PHSY roof to correct multiple roof leaks

Student Services Center Men's Restroom Waterless Urinals Replacement Project Description Project lead
Removed and replaced all waterless urinals in SSC which created maintenance problems and indoor air quality challenges. New ultra low flow urinals with motion activated controls were installed. B. Coakley, FMS Plumber and Carpenter Shops

Wi‐Fi Clocks ‐ Campus wide Installations Project Description Project lead
Old clock systems were removed and new Wi‐Fi clocks were installed in over 60 locations. This initial phase of a VPBF‐funded project included MLIB that removed 45 outdated clocks for replacement with standalone Wi‐Fi clocks to improve time accuracies and reduce maintenance costs P. Window Washing ‐ Campus wide Project Description Project manager
