Areas we may explore during sessions include mask, physical theatre, mime, script work, improvisation, devising, movement and voice work. MUSICAL THEATRE FRIDAYS 5 - 6pm | Ages 8 – 12 | £75 per term (10 weeks) Our musical theatre class is a fantastic introduction to the three aspects of musical theatre: singing,

dancing and acting. We focus on building confidence, increasing self-esteem and performing group musical theatre numbers.

An energetic and fun tap dance class teaching young children the basics of tap dance, improving rhythm and co-ordination at the same time.

Our adult ballet classes combine the basics of ballet technique with the gracefulness of movement, creating a great workout class that will improve your fitness, posture and flexibility.

A 45 minute cardio and toning session achieved in one fun, exciting and fast paced fitness class! Our dance fit classes incorporate elements of salsa, hip-hop, disco and jazz dance alongside great music. You’ll burn a lot of calories in one session and have a great time doing it!

A great starting point for any budding dancers, we combine traditional ballet syllabus with fun current music helping to engage children in dance and improve body awareness, control and placement.

IMPROVERS Fridays 6 - 7pm Ages 16+ | £75 per term (10 weeks)

Our hugely popular adult acting master-classes take place every month covering a different acting theme at each session. Areas we might explore include improvisation, physical theatre, mask, verbatim theatre, creating scripts, newspaper theatre, directing, monologues and storytelling.

FRIDAYS 4.15 - 5pm | Ages 4 - 8 | £50 per term (10 weeks)

STREET DANCE

Come and learn the basics behind tap dance in this fun and energetic class, with the opportunity to move on to learning more advanced steps in our improvers class when you are ready.

SATURDAYS 11.30am - 12.30pm | Ages 5 - 11 | £75 per term (10 weeks) Learn how to dance like your favourite pop stars in our fun and energetic street dance class memorising funky dance routines to popular music.

SAT 21 MAY 3-7pm | Ages 18+ | £35pp Nigel Plaskitt, puppet coach on Cameron Mackintosh’s West End version of Avenue Q, will run a workshop teaching you how to properly use and get the best out of the puppets. The workshop will cover all the basic training given to the West End actors.

SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME THEMED VINTAGE HAIRSTYLING WORKSHOP SAT 28 MAY 1.30-4.30pm | Ages 15+ | £20pp Vintage hair styling expert Sarah Dunn of Sarah’s Doo-Wop Dos will be teaching you all the tricks and tips you need for creating beautiful 60s inspired bouffants and beehives in this practical workshop. We can tailor our workshops to all key stages and abilities and our workshops last from a minimum of one hour up to a full day of bespoke activities. These placements are suitable for students undertaking their year 10 work experience or any student interested in pursuing a career in Arts Management. Milton Keynes Theatre is a receiving house; a theatre which solely presents touring productions, therefore we are not able to provide students with work experience in acting, production, stage management, wardrobe, theatrical make-up or directing. Our work experience placements are only suitable for those interested in gaining a greater understanding of how a theatre is run and Arts Management.
