Section 1: Color Trend SPRING/SUMMER 2015 Here features the most essential colors for the upcoming season. Spring/Summer’s 2015 palette ranges from pastel and earthy hues to exotic mid-shade brights, making for a colourful sophisticated season. Minty pastels, ultra-pale pink and lilac refresh woven textures, tweed and jacquard, while their luminous pearlescent quality lends well to eveningwear glamour.

Palette Overview

Color Trend

Beauty Trend - Eyes & Brows

Beauty Trend - Eyes & Brows

pristine flick This season, trade in conventional black liners for a flick of pure white. Keep the tone focused in simple applications above the lashline, and refrain from using mascara to emphasize the stark look.

glitterati Eyes sparkle with glitter, lending an unusual definition to the gaze with sparkling inner eye placements. Iridescent glitters feel futuristic – blend with a more subtle shimmer shadow across the eye to finish.

powder white whiteout brows Distinctive and stark, brows are stripped back in clean white hues this season. Exaggerate the whiteout look with matching shadows, liner and mascara around the eyes.

liner block pop This season, liner makes a bold pop against eyes in blocked applications, on show in vibrant colorways. Shades like green, red and blue stand out best – keep mascara to a minimum to keep focus on the tone.

Beauty Trend - Eyes & Brows

full color lids

gold strike

Eyes resemble a painter’s palette with a Full Color effect this season, as a spectrum of shades clash over lids or the whole eye area. Red blocks ensure a statement, especially when mixed with contrasting panels of yellow, blue or purple.

Eyes take on the Midas touch with a flash of gold metallic tone this season. Working with shiny or softened finishes, trace shadows up to the eyelid or go all-out with color covering the whole socket.

blot shading

summer pea lids

Smudgy eye makeup creates a blotted effect for a grungy chic this season, working especially well with inky blue shades. Watery applications are brushed over the lid or up towards the brow for a stronger statement.

Fresh and bold, lids come colored in a vibrant tone of Summer Pea for an organic appeal this season. Keep the rest of makeup subtle for a natural finish, or add a hint of pale white shadow in the inner corner of the eye for an alluring ombré effect.

Beauty Trend - Eyes & Brows

half ‘n’ half eye

teary eyed

Eyes express a split personality appeal with Half ‘n’ Half shadows. Contrast dark tones with light, working across a divided midsection for a striking daywear look.

Eyes appear to be full of emotion, opening windows to the soul with Teary Eyed effects. Trace wet-look ‘tears’ down the cheek, keeping mascara to a minimum (or working with false lashes) to avoid smudged makeup.

filled-in brows

tribal tails

This season, brows are filled in for a striking effect, drawing attention to the eye area. Bold black fillers are traced around the brow for an exaggerated look, or come down to skim the eyelid for maximum statement.

Eyes are given extra definition with Tribal Tails with stark black liner, creating a look of the modern warrior. Create strokes from the edge of the lash line back over the socket, stopping before the middle of the eye for an angular appeal.

Beauty Trend - Lips

Beauty Trend - Lips

peach parfait lips Simple, sweet and irresistibly feminine, lips appear saturated in an appealing shade of Peach Parfait pastel. Matte lipsticks look dewy and natural – pair with subtle blushes and a hint of mascara for a fresh finish.

painted pink This season, Painted Pink lips exude a childish chic, popping from faces in bright sugary shades. Matte formulas work well for day, especially with a simple slick of dark mascara.

molten magma lips Lips sizzle in hot shades of Molten Magma this season, popping from natural beauty looks in intense orange hues. Keep eye makeup to a minimum to ensure an unexpected pop.

imperfect lips Inspired by iconic grunge queens like Courtney Love, lips take on a louche chic with imperfect, smudged tints. Paler shades of nude or peach work well for day, while bolder reds make a statement.

Beauty Trend - Lips

damson plum

dark doll

Youthful and bold, lips are saturated in rich Damson Plum tones for an appealing color pop. Keep the rest of your makeup natural to keep focus on the shade, and line lips for maximum impact.

This season, cherubic pouts come festooned with glitter for a look of the Dark Doll. Work with shiny shades of crimson, scarlet or mauve as a base, then decorate with sparkling texture.

a touch of gold This decadent trend sees lips saturated in gold tones that catch the light with a luxurious shine. An ideal style for evening, pair with matching eye shadow or nail polish for the ultimate sophistication.

nail that lip Coordinated chic at its finest, nail polishes are matched to lip colors for a harmonized elegance. Warm tones of orange and pomegranate work well for summer – alternatively, go for a femme fatale seduction with sizzling scarlet.

Beauty Trend – Cheeks & Base

Beauty Trend - Cheeks & Base

freckle frenzy Spring/Summer pastels are given a jolt of vivid acidity, updating traditional soft Achieve a healthy glow with a smattering of freckles across the base, accentuated on cheeks with a feminine hint of pink blush. For the ultimate fresh-faced look, team with a natural lip color.

total matte skin Stark and ethereal, bases express a minimal elegance with Total Matte Skin looks. An ideal trend for pale skin, accentuate the pure finish with strong brows and the subtlest hint of mascara.

the new blush placement

peachy keen

Natural visages feel fresh with a new spin on blush application, as placement is moved from the apple of the cheeks to the front and center. Keep blushes a couple of shades darker than your skin tone for a feminine chic.

A fresh, feminine trend for Spring, cheeks and lips come tinted in shades of sweet peach or cherry. Emphasize the natural blush with a hint of complementing shadow across the eyes.

Beauty Trend - Cheeks & Base

rich red lip & cheek Enlivening natural skin tones with a feminine warmth for day or evening, cheeks are matched to lips in rich red hues. Matte lips prevent the look from looking too OTT, while understated eye makeup keeps focus on the blushing effect.

a touch of sweet plum Cheeks take on a feminine blush with hints of sweet pink powders against pale bases, working especially well when paired with darker fruity-hued lips. For the ultimate berry effect, team with blackberry-stained eyes.

Hot Theme (1)

Green House Glamour mood An elegant fashionista returns to her city home at the weekend, hanging up her heels to get back to nature in the garden as the sun shines overhead. Fresh Spring/Summer florals bloom with a new intensity, dressing up ladylike designs with an organic edge. Oversized placements flourish on silky bombers, as unusual surfaces create a modern abstraction on printed T-shirts and tie-dye fusions lend a grungy appeal. Watercolor bouquets come interrupted with bold geo patterns. Sheer textures come into play on botanical repeat skirts and elegant pastel two-pieces, while leather bikers are stripped back in pure white. Completing her look, the urban gardener reaches for an embellished peach hued clutch and a cap blooming with 3D petals.

Hot Theme (2)

Paint me a Revolution mood This season, a rebel artist rises up from the Mexican streets to inspire statement Spring/Summer 2015 styles with her own brand of insurgent creativity. Designs come with a distinctive favela flavor, as bright colorways and bold graphics saturate shapes for a feel of urban creativity. Simple dress and skirt shapes are key with primary-hued portrait graphics and cartoony close-ups, as shirts come decorated with painterly prints and vibrant blocking informs summer fur coats. Rough blocking inspires notions of an artist’s canvas across loose-fit tops, as stripes make a statement on pleated surfaces. Footless sports socks are paired with multicolored sandals for an eye-catching distinction, as bags and accessories are similarly vivid – finish with a creative beauty look like drawn-on lines around the eyes.

Hot Theme (3)

SummerCamp Rewind mood This season, take a trip down memory lane with styles that hark back to the golden summers of childhood, infusing the Spring/Summer 2015 wardrobe with a retro sense of youthful optimism. Primary hues pop from sporty shapes and lightweight knits, as dress silhouettes are manipulated to resemble sweaters worn around the waist. Animals surface as a key element, on show as cartoon graphic placements on snakeskin shifts and pullovers or cute origami motifs on leather bags. Colorways are typically soft, inspiring notions of sun-bleached Polaroid pictures from lazy playground days, as seen in baby blue, nude pink or banana milk. Accessories are irresistibly playful, taking shape as feathered headdresses, toy-topped hats and appliqué necklaces, in addition to dinosaur figurine sunnies.

Hot Theme (4) Contemporary Tribal mood Traditional tribal designs are modernized with a subtle city-inspired attitude for Spring/Summer 2015, diffusing bold aesthetics into easy-to-wear seasonal pieces for a fresh approach to the exotic trend. Prints retail their eye-catching distinction, but appear tempered with muted or monochrome colorways, as others are worked into simple sportswear shapes or graphic placements on clean white separates. Tonal designs add refinement to patterned pants, woven underlays or statement embellished necklaces. Western plaid fabrics take on a tribal feel when worked into turban headdresses or blown-up silhouettes, as running shoes stand out in multicolored stripes and metallic chokers incorporate high-shine metal surfaces for an urbane appeal. Elsewhere, earrings appear in oversized shapes in chic all-over neutrals, as necklaces come finished with pointed tooth pendants.

Hot Theme (5)

Craft Couture mood A return to homespun aesthetics continues its reign into the Spring/Summer 2015 season, as crafty design gets elevated with a high fashion finish. Texture, texture, texture is the key story coming out of this trend, as styles come shaped in significant fabrics that manage to retain a lightness and movement. Material mixes and multicolor create chic statements across apparel, from cropped fringe sweats to wooly two-pieces and sheer paneled jogging pants. Raw weave lends a DIY finish to simple daywear dresses, as all-over cut-outs catch the eye on minis and self-textured silhouettes create movement in monochrome. Coordinated accessories underline the statement in tasseled clutches and crisscross strap shoes, though luxe leather creates a sophisticated contrast to the rustic materials used in apparel.

Hot Theme (6)

Block Conformists mood Color blocking continues to inspire into the Spring/Summer 2015 season, this time undergoing fresh style shakeup with innovative design and new applications for a distinctly modern effect. Tonal layers of fabric offer an intriguing interpretation, surfacing in sheer fabrics across sleeveless dresses or transparent plastic sandals, as T-shirts incorporate patchworked leather panels in multicolor. Denim blocks create effortless daywear looks, while material mix maxis look refined in a neutral palette. Eye-catching styling looks emerge in combinations of blocked separates, with pleated shapes creating new dimensions of movement across blocks in skirt and dresses. Color palettes adhere to the trend’s sportive roots with bold grounds of black and white offset by primary panels, with the occasional hint of orange underlining the seasonal optimism.

Hot Theme (7)

Re-Classic mood While the ‘80s saw the rise of masculine-inspired power dressing, as women endeavoured to stake their claim in the workplace, at this point in the 21st century we see style come full circle – with a more level playing field established in the professional sphere, women are once again looking to express themselves with more traditional interpretations of feminine fashion. Taking inspiration from sources like ‘50s chic and vintage Dior, prim, ladylike designs are updated with a modern twist to suit the Spring/Summer 2015 wardrobe. A soft palette of peach, peony, lilac and nude dominates shapes like peplum midi shapes and fit ‘n’ flare skirts, as well as lightweight knits and embellished blouses, while creamy neutrals impact on demure dresses. Pearls see a reprisal in sophisticated chokers, and also as 3D flower embellishment on transparent jelly sandals. Additionally, heeled shoes are dressed up with laser-cut patterns and netted veils add a seductive allure to the face.

Hot Theme (8)

Stark Sport Chic mood As women’s fashion continues to refine sportswear aesthetics for a contemporary sophistication, Spring/Summer 2015 styles come stripped back in stark contrasts of black and white. Athletic blocking dominates designs, on show in signature color panels and stripes, as well as innovative layered silhouettes or material mixes. Other styling concepts look to monochrome separates, ranging from cotton shirts and leather skirts to casual sweats and oversized pants. Dresses take on fitted bodycon shapes, looking ready to hit the courts or city streets alike in mini lengths and jersey textures. Finishing off ensembles with a mood that’s simple yet chic, footwear comes in the form of two-tone courts or black booties, as belts appear in strips of white and furry key chains lend a luxe tactility to daywear bags.

Hot Theme (9)

Across the Universe mood An evolution of last season’s Vintage Futurism theme, Space Age styles are refined with a feel of grown-up sophistication for Spring/Summer 2015. Elegant, ladylike shapes dominate, as the trend’s signature metallics are toned down with brushed or softened effects – as seen impacting across angular two-pieces or flared dresses in shades of silver or lilac, as in addition to more vibrant aqua panels on midi dress silhouettes. Other key colors emerge in clean white and night sky blue. Luxe material mixes inform confections of chiffon and sequins, as sheer textures lend a feminine romance to loose-fit tops or future blocked dresses. Similarly, key accessories feel refined in metal embellished handbags, oversized tinted sunnies and strappy foil footwear.

Hot Theme (10)

A Varsity Romance mood Infusing classic sportswear silhouettes with a poetic sensibility, active varsity aesthetics are elevated with a feel of luxurious romance this season. Silky satins take on a fluid dimension on simple, oversized tees and joggers, while pearlescent sheers lend a feminine element to tops and vests. While varsity numbers remain key, lush florals underline the sensitive sportswoman mood, lending interest to longline jersey dresses in multicolored print or fluid bomber jackets in a statement placement. This organic element is also echoed in cute embellishment on glasses and gauzy 3D blooms on socks and sneakers. Moving away from sportswear’s traditional primary hues, color palettes typically draw on softer tones of blush, lilac and bubblegum.

Section 3: Prints and Materials The coming section includes the “print & pattern trend” and “material trend”. It features the most essential prints & surface and materials interest for Spring/Summer 2015. From the mood board for each trend, you will understand why they are so fascinating and unique. Print & Pattern Trend SPRING/SUMMER 2015 Florals make an organic statement, from extra-large single blooms and arrangements to engineered flowers that frame the silhouette. Geos continue to dominate, from black and white grids to dynamic argyle reworks, though ethnic inspirations infiltrate elsewhere. Patterns take inspiration from cubism and art deco, while chevrons and interlocking shapes lend themselves to summer’s tribal story. A retro mood emerges with childish colors and motifs. Skin prints continue but this time merge with unusual surfaces and mark-making, creating a sutler and more textural take on the animal trend. Additionally, marbled patterns take center stage, applied to looks ranging from sportswear to footwear.
