Freelance artist who lives and creates in Matrei/Br. - Tirol - Austria Born 1962. Graduated from the academy of metallurgy, HTL Fulpmes. 1983 graduated master blacksmith and metalworker. After 16 years practical experience as artist blacksmith in the family business he became an independent freelance artist in 1997. For Anton Amort creating art means to form ideas, to bend them and to take them apart into their essences. To give new identity to old and new. Rigid materials that typically present themselves as unchangeable to man are his raw materials. By using the elements of nature he transforms stone, metal and glass with his ideas. The images that unfold give insight into the surreal fantasies about life's essence and the being of things, their values and expressions. He creates new symbolic essence from materials left to the past by mankind. Almost admonishingly, a new artistic transformation takes place that gives things a new appearance lifting them into new dimensions. Innumerable sketches precede his sculptures and metal pictures. Ultimately they are the result of incredibly creative ingenuity. Countless exhibitions in Austria, Italy and Luxemburg as well as years of contractual work for city and government assignments made Anton Amort a renowned and most respected artist. www.antonamort.com

Exploring the indefinite ways giving to everyone of us the chance to get knowledge about his natural origin and religious culture, may be a difficult and at the same time fascinating venture. A method of equal apply, coming from the logical conception and the form and with an intelligent use of materials like wood, marble, steel, bronze, crystal, is getting on a lively exchange with balancing plastic fineness, being the result of a study of the way of expressing and the mastery of a sculptor's technique, grown since the childhood by the father's school. The dialogue between several materials, not necessarily depending on the ensemble playing of the figures, shows a larger independent perfection of the forms, reached by the ambitious structural interventions at the free field, where every new plastic insertion has to be integrated into the architectural rhythm of the urban sphere. Filip Moroder Doss assumes in his works the affiliation to the origin of the spiritual and material culture of his land, without being blinded in any way by the materialistic world of the globalization. Formed by the original essence, there is a personal mode of expressing in it, coming from a résumé of inherited influences of styles. Son of an academic Sculptor, Filip Moroder Doss was born in Ortisei in 1966. At the age of 14 he started as trainee in his fathers atelier and with 21 he began his career as artist. His collaboration with caijou started in 2011 leading to sculptures that are really innovative, surprisingly unique. filipmoroderdoss.com

caijou has fascinated me from the first point of view. It is so rare and pure, unique in each single piece. I like to change it only little, add my art to it’s natural beauty. I do this with all my respect to one of the most precious nature’s creations.

Carl Felder was born in 1968 into a family among very talented siblings. His capability guided him during his early years into artistic cabinetmaking where he graduated in 1988. Thereafter he began to study craftwork and sculpting in Innsbruck. He graduated in 1992 and began to study on sculptures and paintings at the “Bildungshaus St. Michael”.

remains to unite all the components and melt them into an integral entity – mineral and vegetal, cold and warm – a fusion of contrasts coming to life from two corresponding pieces of wood. carl-felder.com

Soon he began to exhibit in Italy and Austria, was invited to participate at the world leading Venice Art Biennale in 1995 and several other famous art events. A study on the Greek island of Chios-Pyrgi enriched his diversity even more. Carl was later exhibiting at the Austrian museum of applied arts in Vienna, at the Art Cologne and countless more exhibitions. In 2007 Carl started to build up an art factory for teenagers of the SOS childrens villages and is coaching talented young newcomers. Petrified Wood is unmistakably unique: in its strict formal conclusiveness it still touches the visual and emotional responsiveness of the viewer in his/her core with its vibrant completeness. Stirring the subconscious and bringing it into a state of peace and serenity. Creating an interplay of reduced convex and concave forms is typical for my works of art. I get inspired by nature, removing layer by layer of tree fragments until form, structure, wavy grain and the history of each piece appear. Still, the challenge

Thoughts about my work with Caijou: Tranquility and nature are the source of inspiration.

My aptitude is to transform the matter giving it back all its expressive and communicative charge. I try to look beyond, to understand what lies on the other side of the matter itself, just investigating the emotional tension that I feel waving in the course of life. The mosaic provides nature with a framework, a structure because nature is primarily shaped and structured, and discovering the essence of this plot is what features my research. The gesture of placing each tile or element becomes so important as it was a note in a score, a continuous adjustment to the subtle breath of matter in search of a compositive melody, now warmer and expansive, then quieter and shy, placing it in a timeless space that makes the mosaic, by its nature fixed and static, an ensemble of vibrations with continuous echoes. Mosaic is a language that devotes itself to the value of the surface, which becomes unbelievably interesting after a thorough study and application of the Theory of Color. The raw materials used become capable of creating a great effect through the texture’s weft and warp that almost suggests a tactile approach that reveals only when close to them the secrets of what the eyes can recognize from a distance. The mosaic offers

boundless variables creating a never static surface that lively express itself through a vibrating dynamism. The rhythmical play of materials is nothing but the different light-hold of the tiles reflecting a shot texture that constantly changes and glows. Musirama originates from the will to explore the contemporary side of the mosaic art. It takes root in the solid background of a Master of Mosaic but gives voice to a natural and inspired personal evolution.

Marzia Truant was born in 1973 in Pordenone (Italy) and graduated in 2007 as a Master of Mosaic at the “Friuli Mosaic School” in Spilimbergo (PN) Italy. Since 2005, she has devoted herself to the design and construction of mosaic artworks. www.musirama.it
