PLACING ORDERS All orders must be faxed or emailed ([email protected]) into our order department using a valid order form. Orders can not be placed over the phone.
ORDER PROCESSING AND FULFILLMENT: Your order will be processed and entered into our system within three days. The morning after processing, you will receive a Sales Order Acknowledgment including an expected delivery date range. Note: It is important to review it and contact us immediately if changes are required. If you discover any errors, please make the corrections and fax the acknowledgement back to us within 72 hours of receiving the acknowledgement. The individual pieces on order have now been scheduled out to our Amish craftsmen. Each craftsman involved is given a due date for their part of the work. As that date draws near, the pieces from the various builders are gathered at our central warehouse. If an issue arises prior to the due date, the craftsman notifies us and we notify you. Otherwise, no updated work-in-progress information is available. A delivery schedule is created a few days prior to loading a truck — about 5 days prior to the first day of your delivery date range. Factors influencing the truck route include orders available for shipment, timing, order status (backorders take precedence), if future orders exist where freight would best be combined, and room available on the truck. A truck is loaded for delivery. You will receive a fax that indicates the exact delivery date along with invoices for the orders to be delivered. At each step in the process, it is our goal to be proactive in communicating delivery changes to you as soon as possible. Note: Please keep in mind when talking to your customers that we cannot rush our hand-crafted furniture. If delivery time is of concern to your customer contact us for more information.
PRICE LIST & TERMS Effective 7/15/2014 All prices are F.O.B. Arcola, IL. All accounts will be C.O.D. unless otherwise approved. There will be a 2% service charge billed to you for any returned checks. No invoice should be altered without our approval. If there is a problem with an invoice please contact us right away. If terms are offered other than C.O.D. (special circumstances) and balance becomes delinquent within special terms offered, then a finance charge of 1% monthly will be assessed on the delinquent balance outstanding.
ORDERS All orders should have a purchase order number or job name on them for easy reference. If you provide the customer’s last name we will include this on the tag located on the back of each item. Always use our part numbers AND descriptions to assure you will get what you wanted. We require ALL orders to be faxed, emailed, or mailed. No phone in orders will be accepted! Please use a valid order form and verify all the item details prior to sending into us.
RETURN POLICY We require that all returns be approved using our “Return Request Form” prior making a return. Additional copies of this form can be found under the “Resources” tab on the website. Fill out this form and fax it to Simply Amish for approval. You must then attach a copy of the approved form to the item to be picked up. Our driver will not accept any item that does not have the proper paper work attached. Please have the items that are being returned approved before your truck day so that there is no waiting when our drivers are there. All defects must be clearly marked with masking tape. If it is not marked and we can not find the defect, we will charge you for the return freight. All items are inspected before we load them. You must note any shortages or damage before our driver leaves. Please fax all shortage claims to our office on the same day as the delivery.
SIMPLY AMISH CURRENT STAIN COLORS PLEASE NOTE: We charge 5% extra for the following colored varnish and stains: Black #18, Antique White #19, Pure White #24, Espresso #25, Java #29. (See xi for further finish options and pricing information)
Our current stain/varnish colors are: Login to www.simplyamish.com to view a current list of woods and stains available. This can be found under the “Resources” tab. Current samples of these colors on all wood species are available for purchase at $2.00 per sample. (This is for the small loaner samples.) Extra stain is also available, your cost is: 1-Quart $18.00. Colored varnishes and certain stains, like Java, are not available in quarts. Send Custom Quote to request options.
CUSTOMER SUPPLY STAIN & SAMPLE If you have a stain other than our standard colors that you want us to use, a “Custom Quote” form will need to be submitted. We will need to know the items to be ordered so that we can prepare an estimated cost and how much stain is required to complete the job. When we return the quote to you we will provide a sheet of instructions that you must follow to make this work. A required part of the process is that you will need to supply us with the stain so a sample board can be created, which will then be sent back to you for customer approval. The order cannot proceed until approval is received from the customer.
PRICE LIST & TERMS Effective 7/15/2014 STAIN MATCHING PREVIOUSLY ORDERED FURNITURE Anytime you are trying to match an item from an earlier purchase, please return part of the item to us to insure the color is current. Minimally you should have the consumer bring part of the older piece to your store to make sure it looks similar to the current stain sample we offer. Customers adding to their existing sets should be made aware that new pieces will vary slightly from older pieces of the same color. We cannot guarantee that the color never changes. The color of Cherry can change dramatically over time. All woods can change slightly, depending on the level of direct sunlight exposure and other factors beyond our control.
MARKUPS FOR SELECT COLOR GRADES Every wood has some variation of color within the tree. If you wish to order your furniture with none of this natural variation of color we can do that but it does add a lot of extra labor and of course more waste in our lumber so we must add an additional 20% up-charge to your order. Sorry, but we are not able to match wood grain.
SIMPLY AMISH CURRENT FABRICS: (Current fabric swatches available at $4.00 each, 8”x12”) Please visit our website for a current list of fabrics & leathers. Simply Amish Fabrics & leathers have a one year warrantee.
CUSTOM QUOTE REQUESTS We will accept faxed, mailed or emailed ([email protected]) copies of custom quote requests only. If you have a customer in the store and you think it is a simple quote then fax us the details and follow that up with a phone call to see if we could get you the quote right away. We will then fax your request back to you with our notes and prices. On all custom quotes, you need to send a copy of the approved quote with your order.
PRICE UPDATES We have asked our craftsmen to limit price increases to once per year. We are currently setting July 15th as that time. All orders we receive from you July 15th and after will be charged the new price. Because we work with so many individual craftsmen there may be some that will not be able to wait until the regularly scheduled time, in those limited cases we would just send you a sheet showing those changes and not a complete new price list.
RETAIL PRICE LISTS We offer a service that will get you an exact duplicate of our “Suggested Retail” price list except with your desired retail prices in the price columns. These are available to you for $50 a copy. To order you will need send us a PO specifying your exact markup required and how many you desire to purchase.
CHANGE ORDERS & CANCELLATIONS Most of our furniture is custom made to your request. To change or cancel an order after it has been entered into our system, you must contact us immediately to see if it is still possible and what fees may be included. To change or cancel an order after it has been processed by our order department will cost a minimum of $25.00. If the order is more than three days past the acknowledged date we will have to check with the craftsman to see how far they are with the item(s) and get with you on the cost of the change or cancel. This applies to any change needed.
PRICE LIST & TERMS Effective 7/15/2014 CURRENT HARDWARE CHOICES See catalog for item numbers you need to use when ordering different hardware with your furniture order. NOTE: The prices listed are for upgrading only, when ordering extra hardware these will cost more. You will notice that each of the standard hardware options has a letter in the item number; this letter tells you which price group that hardware is in. Because a lot of the new hardware can be used on both doors and drawers you will need to be specific on your order. Example: If you are ordering an Armoire on Chest: Use 80-D-06 (4ea) for drawers and 80-B-05 (2ea) for doors. All up charges are listed at the beginning of the price list for your convenience.
TWO TONE OPTION The cost for the two-tone option is in the price list and is available only on those items indicated with 2T available. If an item is available with the two tone option, Y will appear in the 2T column. When choosing this option, use the following guidelines: Dining Tables: you may have the top 1-wood/color & the rest of the table another wood/color. Occasional Tables: you may have the top 1-wood/color & the rest of the table another wood/color. Hutches, Bookcases, Entertainment Centers, Me Bedroom Items, Cabinets: you may have the Crown Molding and/ or the Tops & the Knobs one wood/color and the rest of the cabinet another wood/color. Beds: you may have the Spindles/Slats one wood/color and the rest of the bed another wood/color. Chairs, Benches: you may have the removable seats one wood/color and the rest of the chair another wood/color. You will need to send a quote request for any other 2-Tone combo. Pricing: We had an order recently where the store sold a table with Olde World (on Character Cherry) on the base and Soft Maple (#05) on the top. The store thought they could just charge the Olde World fees on the upcharge for the base they ordered in Build Your Own Tables. That’s incorrect. First, if you order in two different woods, you always need to calculate the total price using the higher priced wood. In the above example, the store should have asked for a quote to do Olde World only on the base. In the case of a smaller item like a chair, we would charge Olde World pricing for the entire chair, even if you wanted the seat in Soft Maple (#05) without Olde World finish. You would also pay the two-tone fee in addition to the upcharge for Olde World.
EXPRESS ITEMS The Express program is featured in the back of our catalog. We now have two ways for you to receive our great furniture faster. Your first option is now called Express – , and the items marked with our Express icon are in stock in the color listed and ready for immediate delivery (on the next truck headed in your direction). The second option is what we are now calling Quickship – . Items marked with the Quickship icon are partially built, unstained, and waiting to be finished in the color of your choice. These items are available in the same wood and options as the Express version. The stain color of your choice would be specific to the species of wood the piece is available in. Please remember that character cherry and cherry offer the same color selections, and in Quickship both can have Olde World applied for the appropriate upcharge. (Premium cherry, for those who don’t want knots.) Quickship items are available in the same wood and options as the Express versions. Quickship items will be ready to ship in about half the time of a normal special order. Please remember you need to allow extra time depending on our truck schedule to your area. Of course, the third option is our normal special order program where you order whatever you want and we build it from scratch.
PRICE LIST & TERMS Effective 7/15/2014
Smartslides are now standard on all drawers.
SOFT-CLOSE CONCEALED HINGES Soft-close concealed hinges are now standard on all doors.
LIFETIME GUARANTEE Our promise is simple. If your furniture fails during normal household use in the lifetime of the original owner due to problems in either the workmanship or material, we’ll repair or replace it for free, with the following exceptions: Cabinet lights, as well as all finishes, fabrics and leather* are warrantied for one year; the moving parts in our desk chairs and recliners are warrantied for three years; and, while we fully appreciate the beauty of unfinished furniture, we are unable to extend our warranty to any furniture that’s not protected by our exceptional finish.
Items for non-residential use are covered under a separate three-year limited warranty and cover items if they fail due to workmanship or materials. To qualify for this warranty, we need to know that the items ordered are for nonresidential use. Some items ordered for non-residential use, will not qualify for either non-residential use, or residential use warranties.
If a product is returned to Simply Amish and is not covered under this warranty, Simply Amish will repair it & return to the dealer with an invoice for the cost of the repair.
The finish on our furniture is catalyzed varnish and is resistant to water, alcohol, warm dishes, and nail polish remover. You should allow the finish 30 days to cure to reach its full potential of its protective qualities. Solid wood will breathe, expand, and contract with normal temperature and humidity changes. Movement of this nature is normal and will not affect the structural strength or beauty of the furniture. With tables you may even notice a gap in the center of the table or at the ends where the half tops and leaves meet as humidity conditions change. For your comfort, and to protect your solid wood furniture, use a humidifier and/or air conditioner to keep your home’s relative humidity around 30%. Avoid placing your furniture directly in front of a heat source such as register, etc. Do not place your furniture in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
This warranty does not cover any transportation cost that does not involve our company trucks. The items must be returned to the point that we delivered it to so we can bring it back for warranty work and return to that point at no cost. Getting the product to the point of origin is the responsibility of the original owner or the dealer who sold it.
This warranty applies only to normal household use determined solely at the discretion of the manufacturer. Liability for consequential property damage is excluded from this warranty.
*Does not apply to damage caused by others or any defects resulting from abuse, alterations or accidents.

Clean this fabric with the foam only of a water-based cleaning agent to remove overall soil. Many household cleaning solvents are harmful to the color and life of a fabric. Cleaning by a professional furniture cleaning service only is recommended. To prevent overall soil, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended.
FABRIC CLEANING CODES
Clean this fabric with pure solvents (petroleum distillate-base products Energine, Carbons, Renuzit, or similar products may be used) in a well ventilated room. Cleaning by a professional furniture cleaning service is recommended. CAUTION: Use of water based or detergent based solvent cleaners may cause excessive shrinking. Water stains may become permanent and unable to be removed with solvent cleaning agents. Avoid products containing Carbon Tetrachloride as it is highly toxic. SIMPLY AMISH LEATHER Description: Premium top-grain glove-soft leather, offers exceptionally soft silky hand. Soft silky hand enhanced with the application of a wax touch agent. A slightly contrasting crust color is randomly top-sprayed with a translucent solution of highly dispersed micro pigments to give this leather gentle clouding or smoke effect. The natural glow and depth created enhances the sophisticated appeal of this leather.
Natural Visibility: Some natural markings are visible.
Finish: Top-grain, aniline drum-dyed. The beauty of aniline drum dyed is the lack of uniformity. The dye does not color all sections of the hide uniformly due to the tissue (or cell) structure.
Thickness: 0.9 to 1.1 mm thick
Care & Cleaning: Vacuum or dust with a soft brush regularly. For spots and spills, gently blot excess liquid with a clean absorbent cloth and let dry naturally. For butter, oil or grease absorb excess with a clean, dry cloth then leave alone. Spots should dissipate over a moderate time. Do not apply any show polish, ammonia water, oils, or any other chemical solutions. To clean your product we recommend using microfiber cloths for the best result. These can be used alone or with just a small amount of water, therefore eliminating the need for chemicals which will damage the surface.

OLDE WORLD FINISH:
Create “rub thru“ areas as appropriate.
Add base color
Sand and sand some more
General Distressing* — this is actually about 6 steps in itself.
We hand plane the surfaces, creating an unevenness that resembles an antique.
We start with Character Cherry, so knots and natural cracks (stable) will be in every piece.
Optional on all levels.
Olde World is offered on Character Cherry, which with open knots, small cracks, and other imperfections, helps us mimic natural distressing. Below are the levels with steps involved and markup for each level.
Add more color using glazes and dry brush technique for highlights, sealing each one during the process.
Seal again Sand some more
Step 9 Step 10
Top coat (2 coats plus a sanding step in between) Do you want this waxed and buffed? (another 4 steps if you want it waxed). We apply wax and use a hand held power buffer to blend the wax into the varnish, rendering a finish that’s smooth as butter. It doesn’t change how you take care of the furniture or change the quality of the varnish we use.
1 - Wax & Buffing included 2 - Wax & Buffing not included
*General distressing involves creating worm holes, dents, time worn edges, and cracks by the use of many hand tools that the specially trained craftsman will use to creatively “distress” the furniture, giving it that “Olde World” look. All Olde World distressing is being done in a controlled environment with only a few craftsmen involved to insure we get consistency. Due to the natural characteristics of the wood and the individual craftsmen, no two pieces will ever be alike.
