www.trinitymhd.org “Our mission as children of God is to live together in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, acting with compassion in the world as we proclaim the promises of God.”

Today at Trinity

SCHOOL OF DISCIPLESHIP: 10:05 am - Lounge: Storied Waters: Hunger Panel: Trinity members will share their experiences in the food industry/ hunger volunteer work. Come to hear how their faith has affected their service. God’s Work, Our Voices – Life Overflowing We will gather in the fellowship hall at 10:05 am today to listen to Dr. Mark Allan Powell speak to us about God’s work and our voices in stewardship. The first session will focus on our “Hearts and Treasure;” the second session on our “Duty and Delight.” We will watch the video and have a short discussion following. All are welcome as we grow in our giving to God! What’s that noise?? It’s the change in your pockets, under the couch cushions, found on the sidewalk, and in your piggy banks! It’s the coins (or dollar bills!) that clang and clatter when they hit a metal can. It’s the Noisy Offering we will collect for churches in Minot! Today our kids will bring an offering to Sunday School and extra coins to worship as we gather money to support other kids whose church was damaged by the floods in Minot. And adults are encouraged to bring their loose change as well and give to our kids so they can make some noise! God’s Work and Our Voices! Trinity’s Boy Scout Troop #637 is hosting coffee and conversation today at 10:05 in the CLC. Don’t forget to put your coffee/cookie money in the baskets provided to help support them. The 20th Annual Church Bazaar continues today from Noon - 5 pm @ Moorhead Center Mall. NEXT SUNDAY SCHOOL OF DISCIPLESHIP: Sunday, November 20th - 10:05 am - Lounge Hunger Awareness: Ruth Smith from the Dorothy Day Food Pantry

Stewardship Sunday Reason for giving: Act out of love, not out of guilt. Love is the greatest force in all of creation. It is the power that surpasses all others in breadth, depth and height. Nothing compares to it, for it expresses the very essence of the one who spoke everything into existence: “God is love” says 1 John 4:16. Love is the reason God gave his one and only Son: “God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we are still sinners, Christ died for us.” Love is the fruit of the Spirit. Love is the greatest of the virtues. Love is the hinge of the Scriptures. Considering all these truths, why should we give? Above all, because of love - a love for God, a love for his work, and a love for his kingdom to come and his will to be done. -Revolutionary Generosity by Kirk Nowery. Pledge to our missionaries, Phil and Lou-Marie Knutson: Please remember to support the work of our missionaries, the Knutsons, with a generous gift during the month of November. Indicate on the memo line of your check that it is for global mission or use

one of the global mission envelopes. We’ve raised $10,000 to help support them. We are just $1000 away from our 2011 goal! Electronic Giving Options Online giving is available on our web site at www. trinitymhd.org. Just click on the Donate button for easy-to-follow steps that offer a number of designations and options for your gifts. Online giving may be used for debit/credit cards as well as checking and savings accounts for one-time or recurring donations. Automatic withdrawal is a safe and easy way to ensure your gifts are received as pledged. An authorization form is found on the back of your pledge card. There are a number of advantages to using automatic withdrawal. Now that you’ve made the decision to use an electronic giving option, do you miss not having an offering to place in the basket? Please check for a “Joyful-E-Giving” note (available at all entrances, information desk and visitor’s center) to place in the basket as the weekly offerings are received.

Social Concerns Ministry 17th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner with St. Joseph’s Catholic Church

This year’s dinner is at Trinity from 12-2 pm. We are looking for lots of volunteers and donations this year! On Wed., Nov. 23 at 8:30 am, the potato peeling will be done at St. Joseph’s kitchen. When the peeling is done, we will move to Trinity’s CLC kitchen to continue getting things ready for Thursday’s meal. Donated food items can be brought to Trinity after 10:30 am on Wednesday. Because of the economy we anticipate a larger attendance for dinner so we need your help with the donations. Sign-ups will begin this Sunday and continue through November 20. You may also call the church office to sign up. Stop by the tables for a full list of needs for the dinner. We will need Salads (both vegetable and fruit), Pies (we need 70), dinner rolls, cranberry sauce and of course money to purchase food. Thank you for your participation.

Next Sunday is HUNGER SUNDAY! We remember those in our community and around the world who go hungry today in word and prayer, in learning and dialoguing together in the Lounge with presenters from Dorothy Day and FM Emergency Food Pantry, and in giving of our blessings to be a blessing to others through ELCA World Hunger offering envelopes. Arc West Central Housing Access Program has an individual moving from a homeless situation to an apartment and is in need of a couch, table and chairs, and a double bed. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. If you have any of these items, please contact Pastor Alexis or Kathy Brinkman at (218) 287-1841. Thank you! Habitat Welcome Home. Help us welcome home the Bichler family at the dedication of their new Habitat home, the 2011 Thrivent Build project. Let us talents and tongues employ, reaching out with a shout of joy: bread is broken, the wine is poured, Christ is spoken and seen and heard. (Refrain) Jesus lives again, earth can breathe again, pass the Word around: loaves abound. Christ is able to make us one, at the table he sets the tone, teaching people to live to bless, love in word and in deed express. (Refrain) Jesus calls us in, sends us out bearing fruit in a world of doubt, gives us love to tell, bread to share: God (Immanuel) ev’rywhere!

Mission Moment

Your words, deeds, tithes and offerings proclaim God’s work. Thank you! “Faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes from the people of God sharing the word of Christ in word and deed.” -Romans 10:17
