Be inspired! COLOUR CHART

Where do you get your inspiration? At Steni, we are inspired by the world we live in. People, technology, fashion and design inspire us just as much as the nature that surrounds us. In this guide, we have been particularly inspired by light, reflections and textures. Be inspired! Steni manufactures panels in hundreds of custom colours each year. We can supply a virtually unlimited number of special colours, in the NCS, RAL or BS colour systems. Your imagination is the limit. All Steni façade, interior and roof panels have a unique core of fibreglass and stone to give you that well-known Steni quality, no matter what surface you choose. Polymer composite is a high-tech material increasingly used in the automotive, boat-building and aerospace industries to produce materials with unique technical properties. The first products we developed had a surface of natural stone. These panels are still just as popular and we now offer a variety of surfaces of 2

both natural stone and ceramic coloured stone. Our Steni Colour façade panels, Steni Effect interior panels, Steni Protego roof panels and the new Steni Vision are all manufactured with a smooth surface of 100% pure acrylic. The surface is electron-beam cured, without the use of solvents or other curing agents. Quality has always been our hallmark. If you are confident in the quality of your materials, won’t you push yourself more in terms of expression and design? Whether you choose an explosion of colour or a soothing, neutral palette is up to you. On the following pages you can see examples of others who have been inspired by Steni.

Façades of the future Sun and rain, heat and cold. Façade panels must be able to withstand a lot. They need to be strong, stable and beautiful for decades. That is precisely what Steni façade panels are made for, and the reason why we provide a 40-year warranty. 4

Colours that give energy and meaning This kindergarten’s colourful and distinctive façade uses Steni Colour in twelve different RAL shades. The shape of the façade forms three different coloured areas, each with an entrance and a foyer in the same colour. The colours in the mosaic also have an educational aspect. The children can see and learn that colours can come in many different shades. The play of colour blocks on the façade breaks up the scale of the two-storey building. Each colour element is the same size as a child, 1,200 x 600 mm, and during their time at the kindergarten, the children will grow past the first row of panels and up into the second row.

STENI NATURE ERA Contour, Zoetermeer, Netherlands. Architect: Conix architects

Strong lines with natural stone With its natural stone surface, Steni Nature can give even strong lines a more vibrant and natural expression. At the same time, the natural stone surface will give your building a solid and stable feel. When ERA Contour were planning their new head office, they wanted a sustainable and dynamic building surrounded by open countryside and unrestricted sight lines. The vertical lines give the building the illusion of a leaner and

6

taller silhouette. As you walk along the building’s façade, you notice that it opens and closes as you pass a window or the robust Steni Nature façade panels. The smooth Steni Colour panel creates a uniform feel that harmonises the colours with the large windows. The overall impression is both modern and majestic.

STENI EFFECT Bellahøj swimming stadium, service area, Brønshøj, Denmark. Architect: Arkitema, Denmark SN 8010 S 0502-Y

Clean, tasteful and timeless White can be sterile and boring, but in a building usually filled with hundreds of enthusiastic swimmers of all ages, a neutral white palette is a good choice. With interesting details and consistent architecture, the white Steni Effect panels are anything but boring. A swimming pool is subjected to enormous material stresses and when the Bellahøj swimming pool in Denmark was being renovated, they had a strong focus on the choice of material. The building consists of a lot of glass and concrete, and the pure white Steni Effect panels tie it all together and clearly define the various functions of the different sections of the building. 7

Green mamba The neighbouring colours of the square Steni Colour panels create beautiful harmony in this building in Assendelft in the Netherlands. The strong green colours have been arranged in a “snakeskin” pattern, in colours that are close to each other on the colour wheel. Such neighbouring colours have a harmonious relationship with each other and contain similarities that get the colours to communicate. In nature, we find many examples of neighbouring colours that create smooth transitions between each other. This exciting installation, reminiscent of a snake’s skin, where the scales overlap like roof tiles, gives this powerful palette a cool and contemporary expression. 8

Fresh and futuristic This student accommodation building in Liverpool in England shows how colours can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. The three green colours start in soothing tones near the ground, but explode into a sharp lime green and then take on a yellowish hue against the sky, like an old tree with new shoots stretching towards the sun. The building’s façade has an interesting dynamic that says that this building is home to growth and life, and the students have a home they can be proud of.

STENI PROTEGO Valdres, Norway. Construction client: Anders Andreassen

Old meets new This creative cabin owner has chosen the colour of the local Valdres slate for his beautiful roof. He found the darkest colour on a roofing slate from a 250-year-old mountain dairy farm. He got the grey-green from a slate that had been on a cabin roof since 1950. For the rest of the colours on his roof, he visited Norway’s largest museum of old village communities at Maihaugen in Lillehammer, where he found both a lighter grey and old slates that had a more reddish, terracotta look. Together, these four colours create a harmonious and authentic palette, while the traditional cabin has been given a modern roof and an exciting overall impression.

Modern elegance Would you have thought that this was a house from a prefab manufacturer? This modern residence, situated in Vestfold, in southern Norway, was constructed using only the highest quality materials. The white façade combined with natural wood gives it an exclusive and elegant look. The family living there today are very pleased with their new Steni Colour cladding. They got the house of their dreams, with an expansive, virtually zero-maintenance façade.

STENI COLOUR Fyrishov, Uppsala, Sweden. Architect: Tengbombgruppen

Playing with light When lit up by the sun at certain angles, the façade of the new Fyrishov arena is reminiscent of mother-of-pearl. Fyrishov in Uppsala in Sweden has long had a reputation for a strong focus on sport, and it attracts both tourists and sports fans because there has been consistent investment in high-quality facilities. Steni Colour in one colour and three gloss levels gives the new arena a façade that plays with light, while in its simplicity harmonising with its surroundings and the buildings around it.

Powerful and majestic in black One colour in two gloss levels is all it takes to achieve the effect of a vibrant façade. This black façade exudes elegance, while the different angles give it an exciting and dynamic expression. Sirkus Shopping is a shopping centre in Trondheim in Norway. It opened in 2012 and has 65,000 m² of shops, services and health facilities. The roof of the shopping centre is home to 8,000 m² of apartments. Because the location is exposed to both road pollution and strong sun on the south side, Steni Colour in a dark tone was a natural choice. SN 8900 S 9000-N Matt

“A façade is more than protection for a building. Just like clothes, tattoos and hairstyles say something about us as people, patterns and surfaces can say something about a building’s identity and reinforce its architecture.” 26

New! Steni Vision is the first product that allows you to design your façade exactly the way you want it – without compromising on quality and maintenance. With our new Steni Vision panels, the possibilities are almost limitless. Most designs and patterns can be reproduced on its smooth surface of electron-

beam-cured acrylic. We currently offer 14 different standard surfaces that can be adjusted in various hues and produced in three levels of gloss. The quality is the same as our other famous high-quality façade panels.
