Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Readiness Training

This six-week program strengthens skills needed to prepare individuals for jobs in local manufacturing and industry. This training teaches and measures foundational technical, academic and interpersonal knowledge and skills that have been identified by local industry leaders as critical to long-term employee success. It is designed to be taken as the first phase of a career training pathway and is programmed such that it can be taken in conjunction with the TASC program (see page 22). Once completed, students should continue on with the Certified Production Technician training program to ready themselves for an entry level position in Advanced Manufacturing. Certified Green Production Technician PLUS

Machining & Production I

Hands-on study of machine shop practices is provided in this course, together with care of precision instruments, maintenance of lathes and milling machines, operation of lathe controls, filing, deburring, polishing, use of digital readout, use of micrometer, dial indicators, and pitch micrometers.

CNC Operator II

This course provides students with entry level CNC machine operating skills. Course includes an introduction to CNC machining including shop safety, blueprint reading, precision measurements and CNC operation.

Mastercam®

Learn the software used by professionals in the manufacturing industry in this 30-hour course. Mastercam is a computer-aided design (CAD) program. The software helps CNC programmers create mechanical drawings and machine parts using 3-D wire frame models.

Surveying Technology Introduction to Surveying

Students are introduced to land surveying principles, applications, terminology and instruments. The main emphasis of the course is on producing property survey maps using coordinate geometry and trigonometry. Building Air-Tightness, Ventilation and IEQ

Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Training SUNY Ulster is a New York State Office of Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) Education and Training Provider offering the 350-hour education and training required for CASAC credentialing. Through a balance of lecture, dialogue, and experiential exercises that allow participants to apply the knowledge, skills and abilities they have learned, students are exposed to the full range of counselor competencies, a distinct understanding of the knowledge base associated with addiction specialists, diversity in different treatment approaches and professional and ethical responsibilities. Upon completion, students are issued the OASAS 350-hour Certificate of Completion, providing all the coursework necessary to apply for the CASAC Trainee status. In order to become a CASAC in New York State, students must: (1) meet specific competency and ethical conduct requirements; (2) meet specific work experience requirements; (3) meet minimum education and training requirements; and (4) pass the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) examination for Alcohol and Drug Counselors. All the stated requirements are overseen and/or coordinated by the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).
