Star Cool Warranty policy Please be advised of the following changes to Star Cool’s warranty policy, which has now been implemented. With in this revised policy, Maersk Line will reserve the right to reclaim the total cost of the warranty repair from the vender, on any warranty claims rejected by Star Cool, if the cause of rejection is due to the mishandling of the claim by the shop.

Data-log/ Picture Additional data/pictures will need to be collected and provided to GSC warranty team and local ML EMR desks. It will now be required that the following listed parts will need pictures and/or downloads before and after repairs. Please see below. Work order number, Work order number / estimate number can be found in the heading of each work order. Please see below example, 0029840301 is the work order number (estimate number).

Serial Number Structure Please ensure following part/s serial number/s are entered into MERC+ once the work orders are completed. The part numbers can also include the letters (A, B, C, D, E, etc) at the end of them. This indicates a different version of same/similar part, eg 818510D (CONTROLLER MODULE CIM6.0 ) and 818510E (CONTROLLER MODULE CIM6.1 ). Item no

 If part is found missing, damage code “MS” for Missing/Lost needs to be entered into the work order creation and the serial number field to “missed” for that work order once completed.  If serial number on a part can not be read or identified, the serial number field needs to be updated as “unreadable”. A picture needs to be taken to show this and then sent to GSC & Local EMR desk for reviewing per aforementioned instruction.  Examples of serial number enter in MERC+, 

A warning will be shown in MERC+ for part serial number requeirements during work order creation.

After completion,

Parts returning and Holding  Below parts MUST be returned for inspection within 60 days to Star Cool after unit repairs are carried out, irrespective of age of units. If those parts do not arrive at the Star Cool distribution centre within the agreed period, Star Cool will claim for reimbursement for the corresponding warranty claim from Maersk Line, then Maersk Line will recover this from the responsible shop.  Faulty part’s management All Returned and stored faulty parts need be packed and then Tagged as below. The tag can be found in the new part package from Star Cool or printed/copied by shops. Following information is needed and must be filled on the tag. -

Remarks and failure descriptions During MERC+ estimate creation, the following needs to be detailed in remark field of the work order, A) What / how / when failure was found, such as “Noise on left Evap motor during PTI, but no alarm shown” B) Alarms (any listed on the unit). C) If emergency repair on live reefer, please list out the repair date / location / vessel codes. Example,
