Standards: Team 2526’s style guide was created to strengthen the effort of our team’s branding by keeping it consistent in design elements to produce a powerful and lasting impression.

Guidelines: Team 2526 has developed these standards to ensure consistent display in branding and advertisement. By adhering to the standards set by this style guide Crimson Robotics can ensure a unified and cohesive brand to promote professionalism in the community and in the competitions we participate in.

Team Name:

Official Team Name: Crimson Robotics

The official team name is to be used in any formal written documents. It is a staple of our identity. By having a team name related to Maple Grove Senior High’s color theme, we can promote the school’s community we represent while keeping the team name recognizable and simplistic.

In written and verbal communication, Team 2526 should always be referred to as “Crimson Robotics”, “Team 2526: Crimson Robotics”, or “Team 2526”, Team 2526 should not be referred to as any alias not stated above. The team name cannot be changed without complete consensus of the Team 2526 student leaders, members, & mentors.Logo Sizing:

Misuse of Logo: Do not place the logo in a frame. The logo should not be seen with a frame around it when on a page.

Do not place the logo inside a box on a page.

Do not use multiple colors within the logo.

Do not distort the logo in any way shape or form.

Do not the use the primary “lemon” color of the logo if placed on top of a white backdrop.

Do not invert the colors on the logo.

Color Palette: The predominate color in all communication materials should be selected from the primary palette. Secondary Palette (TBD).

Typography Team 2526 has elected to choose a set of fonts to use in all written communication. The primary font family should be used for all written communication. The secondary font family should be used for headlines and accents. The team and robot name font should only be used for displaying the name of the team or robots. Vertical or diagonal lettering should be avoided whenever possible.

Team and Robot Font: In certain circumstances, Bank Gothic MD Bt can be used for artistic purposes. Web fonts: Secondary: Oswald Primary: Droid For use on prints: Primary: Segoe UI All fonts should be within the sanserif category only. All font files can be found on Bit Torrent Sync under ‘Crimson Robotics: Art Department’

Graphic Files All versions of the Team 2526 logo are available in various file formats. All graphic files can be found on Team 2526’s Bit Torrent Sync under the Art Department folder. This is available for team members only. 


PNG files should be used on websites and in screen applications. 


EMF Files should be used in Microsoft Word and Office documents. EMF is a vector file format that can be scaled and can be easily embedded in Microsoft Office Documents.

The universal file (TIF format) should be used and available for any 3rd party organization.

All versions of the logo and other team related graphics are available on Team 2526’s website: http://www.crimsonrobotics.com/branding/ All graphic files should be available in vector format.

Logo Position: Team 2526’s primary logo should be used in all prints and poster advertising. It should be clearly visible and it must never be overlapped.

Branding on Team Apparel: Every year, Team 2526 will print one primary shirt for use during competitions and one primary shirt for the use of fundraising events. Team 2526 may print other team apparel All competition team shirts should always be “Cardinal.” All shirts must be ordered in Gildan Ultra Cotton Shirts. All graphics and logos placed on the primary competition shirt should be “Lemon.” The preferred company to order from is CustomInk.com The back of the shirt should contain the list of sponsors below the team number “2526.” 
 All team logos and graphics should adhere to the guidelines stated in this Style and Branding Guide. Otherwise, any appropriate designs are permitted for other team apparel given there is a consensus made by the leaders, mentors, and students of Team 2526.

Dress at Official Team Events: At all competitions, robot demonstrations, fundraisers, and any other major team event, certain standards of dress should be followed. All team members are expected to wear the current year’s team shirt blue jeans and closed-toed shoes. When indoors, the team shirt should not be covered. Hats and accessories should be one of the primary team colors if possible. All undershirts worn under the team shirt must be solid grey, black, or white During events that require more formal wear . . . Above all, dress reasonably and display outward professionalism.

Outerwear: When attending an event, if you would like to wear an outwear it needs to be the official team outerwear. In some cases, including the drive team at competitions, the official team shirt must be partially or completely visible as directed by the head coach.

Sponsorship and Third Party Logos To properly recognize our gratitude towards our generous sponsors, we require sponsor recognition whenever possible. Primary Sponsors: Boston Scientific & Turck should always be recognized on the team website, the official team shirt, on all robots and on all official team publications by their logo. Other Sponsors should always be recognized on the team website, on the official team shirt, and on all robots.

Branding on Team Shipping Crates: Team 2526’s robot should always be shipped in crates that have the team logo on a minimum of one side and the team number on all four sides. Preferred Paint Color: (to be determined at a later date)

Black and White Reproduction: When full color reproduction is not possible, monochrome of the logotype is acceptable. 
 
 When the logo is placed over a black and white image, extra care must be taken to sure it is legible.

Media Consideration: Particular media will have a stronger appeal to some groups than others. 
 Therefore, it is important to understand what an advertisement needs to say, to whom it is speaking, and in what scale is should be delivered. Each media has advantages and disadvantaged, which need to be considered when planning an advertisement or any representation of Team 2526.
