¿Dónde Está el Reino de Dios? Catholic Ministries Appeal

As of November 29th we have received pledges totaling $36,218.00 from 198 households. This is very good news. Last year, it was December 20th before we reached this amount. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. While we are making great progress, we still need everyone who hasn’t contributed to think about if and how much you can contribute. Any contribution is important. Even a small contribution helps make a difference. Our goal for this year is $45,750. This is a decrease of almost $6,000 from previous years. However, last year we only raised $36,791. Please remember that when we fall short of our goal, the parish pays the difference. That means money out of our general budget. Finally, just a reminder that if you want to show your CMA contribution on your 2016 taxes, you need to send it in before the end of December.

Wayne County Habitat for Humanity Information seminar will be on Monday, December 5th at 7pm. It will be held at Park Presbyterian church in Newark. The purpose is to inform Wayne County families what it would take to be considered as a future Habitat home owner. Habitat is also looking for people who are interested in working with us on the building of homes. Help is needed in both construction and the many different groups that it takes to make this program a success in our county. I f interested, you are urged to attend this meeting. All skill levels are appreciated and new skills can be learned.

Advent Opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation As we celebrate Advent in preparation for Christmas, perhaps you realize the need to clear your conscience by confessing your sins. In addition to our regular Confession time on Saturdays from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m., on Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 a.m. we will celebrate our Advent Penance Service, including the celebration of First Penance for our children. Several area priests will be assisting, all are welcome. If Saturday doesn’t fit into your schedule, Fr. Jeff will be available in church for confessions on: Wednesday, December 14th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 20th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

¡Feliz Adviento! Preparen un camino hacia Jesucristo. Hermana Kay

Dear Parish Family, Because of the Veteran’s Day holiday and Thanksgiving Holiday, our bulletins have been due to the printer earlier than usual. So, even though this is a bit late, I would like to thank all the youth of our parish who helped with the fall clean-up day on Friday, November 11. Your help is appreciated more than you know. The Family gathering on November 20th, making Advent Wreaths, was wonderful and I would like to thank all those families who participated. It was so nice seeing the families work together on their wreaths and sharing in a meal together. Thanks to those who provided cookies and brownies for dessert. Just a reminder to my SCOOCH group, we will be wrapping boxes for the Angel Tree Gifts next Sunday, December 11, immediately following the 10:30 mass. This will take place in the church hall NOT the school building. I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving and pray that all of you have a blessed Advent Season. Peace & Love to all, June P.S.
