JUNE 10-12: PARISH FESTIVAL On June 10th, 11th and 12th we will have our parish Festival. This year will start on Friday, June 10th in the afternoon, and we’ll continue Saturday and Sunday. Please come in those days with your family and friends to enjoy appetizing dishes of Hispanic and American food, desserts, ice cream, games and activities for children, music and great fun and entertainment, in a great Christian atmosphere. The different kiosks are already organizing and offering tickets in the coming weeks. Please don't forget to mark your calendar now! This year there will be a big tent that will cover us all and protect us from the rain. There will also be a common single ticket for all the kiosks offering meals. For example, with this ticket you will be able to eat at any kiosk that offers food (Guatemala, Dominican, Salvadorian and Mexican). There will also be tickets of $5 and $1 for items or meals of lesser value, games and other activities. Courage, brothers and sisters! "A lways with you... will you help us you?”

We also need new people, who might not be at the moment related to any kiosk to help with new initiatives such as more games for the children and the new kiosk of “Hot Dogs and Burgers”! FESTIVAL TICKETS AVAILABLE!

We want to give thanks to God for the completion of our CCD program. We have seen an increase of participation in our program (from 250 to 550 kids). It is for us a pleasure and a privilege to be able to teach our children the Catholic faith and to support the parents in their mission to transmit the faith onto their children. Registration for next year CCD program will open in August 2016.

This year there will be tickets of $10, $5 and $1 for all activities, meals and games of the Festival. The $10 ticket is a common ticket, i.e. you can buy food in any Kiosk (Mexican, Guatemalan, Salvadorian, etc). We are asking for the help of all the parishioners to sell tickets! In the back there will be people with envelops of 20 tickets each.Please help us to sell to your friends and acquaintances! Please, bring back the money (or leftover tickets... Although we expect you sell them all!) On Sunday, June 5, at the Church. Thanks for your help!

We also want to thank all the catechists who helped us this year in our CCD program. May he Lord give them a hundredfold for their generosity for having taught our children about God's love and our Catholic faith!

SACRISTY UPPER CHURCH FLOOR IN NEED OF EMERGENCY CARE

GRADES 2 y 3: Rehear sal on Fr iday, May 20th, 6:00pm, Upper Church. First Communion: Sunday, May 22, at 10:00 am.

The floor of the Upper Church is in very bad conditions. We saw that in some areas the Sacristy floor had sank as much as two inches deep. With the help of a professional company, we have opened up the floor and have found out that many of the beams supporting the floor were rotten or altogether gone because of water leaks and humidity. After consultation and approval of the finance council we are going to move forward replacing the existing beams, building up concrete support for each beam, water-proofing the wall and the installation of a new floor. This is a question of safety and a necessary expense since the sacristy, as you know, is a key area and is used very time we celebrate Mass. A quote for the estimated cost of the project is currently being prepared. On the weekend of May 28 & 29, we will take a special collection to gather the funds for the repairs of the Sacristy floor. We ask for you help and collaboration for this needed project!

PISO DE LA SACRISTIA DE LA IGLESIA DE ARRIBA NECESITA REPARACIÓN URGENTE

VII CENA DE GALA ANUAL

El piso de la Iglesia de arriba está en muy malas condiciones. Ya habíamos visto que en algunas zonas el piso de la sacristía estaba hundiéndose hasta dos pulgadas hacia abajo. Con la ayuda de una compañía profesional, abrimos el piso y descubrimos que muchas de las vigas que sostienen el piso estaban podridas o habían hasta desaparecido debido a fugas de agua y humedad. Tras consulta y aprobación del Consejo financiero de la parroquia hemos decidido renovar el piso reemplazando las vigas existentes, construyendo bases de apoyo de concreto para cada viga, impermeabilizando la pared e instalando un nuevo piso. Se trata de una cuestión de seguridad y un gasto necesario, puesto que la sacristía, como ustedes saben, es un zona esencial y se usa cada vez que celebramos la Misa. Se está estimando el costo del proyecto. El fin de semana del 28 y 29 de Mayo, tendremos una segunda colecta especial para recaudar los fondos para la reparación del piso de la sacristía. ¡Les pedimos por favor su ayuda y colaboración para este proyecto necesario!
