ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA √ YOU  MUST BE THE DESIGNER AND HEAVILY INVOLVED IN THE CREATION AND PRODUCTION OF YOUR ART OR CRAFT. √ YOU MUST RESIDE IN CANADA OR THE UNITED STATES. √ YOUR ART OR CRAFT MUST BE MADE IN CANADA OR THE UNITED STATES. YOUR APPLICATION PACKAGE WILL BE JURIED FOR THE QUALITY, UNIQUENESS, AND SALABILITY OF YOUR PRODUCT, YOUR BOOTH PRESENTATION, AND THE OVERALL BALANCE OF ART AND CRAFT CATEGORIES. Upon acceptance, part of your contract includes an exclusivity clause contained within our artisan agreement. We heavily market and promote the fact that the artisans and products found at The One of a Kind Show are unique and cannot be found everywhere, especially in and around the Toronto area. Therefore, we embrace artisans who understand and believe in our philosophy and whose product is not available in other consumer shows 30 days before and 30 days after the dates of our event within a 50-kilometre radius of the Show.

O PHOTOS

DVD or USB thumb drive with 10 high resolution (300 dpi) jpegs representing the range of work you would like to sell at the show. Each type of product listed in the “Items You Would Like to Sell” portion of the application should be represented in your product photos.

O BOOTH DESIGN

A detailed drawing, sketch or digital photo of your proposed booth display. In your drawing, you should think about the structure of your booth (will you have hard walls, or will you have drape coverings) and illustrate your plans for lighting, flooring, signage, and furnishings (display units, shelves, etc).

O STUDIO PHOTOS

3 jpegs that give the jury a sense of your workspace.

O BIOGRAPHY

Tell us about yourself, your education and training, and where you have shown and sold your work.

O PRICE LIST

Include a price list of all the product images you have submitted with this application.

O STEP-BY-STEP PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Include a detailed step-by-step description of how your products are made. Please be specific about your involvement. If there are others involved in the creation of your work, please explain how they assist you. Where applicable use “I” statements (eg. I cut the fabric.)

O DEPOSIT

Please enclose, along with the attached application form, a VISA, Mastercard, or cheque deposit of $500.00 payable to Informa Canada Inc. This deposit will be cashed only if you are contracted for space at the Show.

SPECIAL CATEGORY REQUIREMENTS O FOOD/FLAVOURS

Flavours applications must provide samples of all items you intend to sell at the show and must provide a document detailing your food sampling procedures with your application.

O PAPER, BODY CARE AND CANDLES

All applicants applying with paper or scented products (ex. soap, stationery, candles, etc) must provide samples of the items you intend to sell at the Show. These samples will not be returned.

O PHOTOGRAPHY A  ll photographers must include:



1-3 matted exhibition prints in addition to your application photos.



A statement that indicates whether the photographer prints his/her own work or if it is printed by a lab (please provide lab name, if applicable).



 ll prints should be signed and dated, with the capture date and print dates on reverse. Open editions A are acceptable. The photographer must also provide a guarantee/certificate of the product to the customer with every purchase. Please send a sample with your application. Photography samples will only be returned if a self-addressed stamped envelope, large enough for your prints, with sufficient postage is provided.

O GREEN

When applying to this section, please include a 100 word statement addressing what recycled and/ or green materials are used and how your product or process benefits the environment? Please note that if accepted, this statement will be posted in your booth (on a sign provided by the Show) so that the customers can better understand your products/processes.

O VISUAL ARTS

All visual artists must provide an image showcasing at least one piece of their art work displayed within an interior space.



For those visual artists wishing to sell reproductions at the Show, a limited amount is acceptable. Reproductions must be displayed in a maximum area of 5' wide x 8' high within the booth along with a “reproductions” sign of your design.



Artists wishing to sell prints must send 1-3 matted exhibition prints of the reproductions in addition to your application photos of the original work.

INTRODUCTORY BOOTH OPTIONS In addition to our special sections (pg 4), we also have these great introductory booth options to help you get your start at the Show.

RISING STARS This open concept exhibition space is for first time applicants with less than 5 years professional experience in their art or craft. Space is sold by the square foot (pricing on page 6), we supply the carpet, and you provide a free-standing display with lighting. Open to all disciplines except food. To apply, applicants must submit a full application package, including a proposed display for your requested size of space.

BOOTH SHARE PROGRAM Share a 10’ x 10’ booth with a fellow new artisan to help alleviate some of the challenges of your first One of a Kind Show, like costs, required stock, and booth sitting. Show us how you would create a cohesive booth display that includes both of your works, equally distributed (50%) throughout the booth for the duration of the Show. Open to those who are applying to the show for the first time, those who have previously participated in our Rising Stars, Marketplace, Craft Community of Canada or other special sections, or those who have not participated in the show for more than two consecutive years. Applicants are only eligible for the Booth Share program at ONE Spring Show and ONE Christmas Show. Also open to individual applicants looking to be paired with a buddy, depending on availability of suitable applicants. To apply, both applicants must submit a complete application package, a paragraph explaining why they need a buddy at the show, and a cohesive shared booth display. Upon acceptance, each artisan in the Booth Share Program will receive an individual contract, however, the total booth fee will be divided equally between the two “buddies”.

SPECIAL SECTIONS AT THE SHOW One of a Kind curates each show to create a unique and exciting shopping experience. At our Spring Show in particular, we work to create sections that highlight certain groups or categories, so that you can enjoy the crowd of customers drawn by the themed marketplace atmosphere. MARKETPLACE Our new and improved Marketplace is a tabletop section that provides ALL new artisans an affordable way to get their start at the show, for a fraction of the cost and without having to build a booth your first time out. APPLICATION DEADLINE: JANUARY 18, 2017 CRAFT COMMUNITY OF CANADA In this section, we partner with leading arts and culture institutions to provide a platform for emerging artists to launch their career. Artisans can be nominated or seek nomination from a member of their institution for the chance to exhibit in a complimentary turnkey space (approx. 50 sq. ft) at the One of a Kind Spring Show. Open to students or recent graduates of a post-secondary institution or members of accredited learning organization who have been practicing their craft for less than 5 years. APPLICATION DEADLINE: JANUARY 18, 2017 GETTING STARTED AT THE ONE OF A KIND SHOW We know that, in the early stages of a career, some new and emerging artisans may need financial assistance. So, we have a variety of scholarships and programs to help you get started at the Show. You are welcome to apply for more than one of the opportunities outlined below, but in order for us to spread the love to as many new artisan as possible, you are only eligible to receive one. Scholarships and assistance programs are limited, so be sure to apply early to increase your chances!



SCHOLARSHIPS NEW ARTISAN SCHOLARSHIP Open to first-time applicants who have been practicing their art or craft for less than 5 years, this grant reduces booth fees by 50%. To apply, applicants must provide a short paragraph addressing the following: • What is your current employment status as an artisan (full time, part time, other)? • How will the New Artisan Scholarship Fund benefit your career?

TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP Open to first-time applicants coming from outside of Ontario, this grant is designed to assist with travel, shipping and accommodation expenses during the show by reducing booth fees by $500. To apply, applicants must provide a short paragraph addressing the following: • Why do you require financial assistance? • How will the Travel Scholarship benefit your career?

Exhibitors are responsible for providing lights, floor covering, signage, display, electrical costs, POS equipment, communication and other booth related fees.
