Introduction

T

hank you for considering to become a sponsor of our rugby club. Since our inception in 1997 we, as a club, have enjoyed great success both on and off the field. Each season delivers premierships, each season our players are selected on mass for representative honours and each season our members, supporters and sponsors come together and enjoy being part of our exciting and vibrant club. We are diverse in culture, we are family orientated, we are strong in leadership and we have a clear and united focus in Securing our Future. The “Brothers” are a family orientated club that provides children the opportunity to play rugby. Children can join from 4 years of age (must be turning 5 that year). With teams from U6’s to Premier Reserve Grade Joondalup Brothers is without doubt one of WA’s largest clubs. Our junior division has long been the envy of many clubs, as we consistently experience steady growth year after year. This growth has seen us become the largest junior rugby division in WA fielding upwards of 28 teams with over 450 junior players. 2014 was a landmark season in our clubs history as we were promoted to Premier Reserve Grade and finished the regular season with 13 wins from 18 games and making the final series in our inaugural year. This was a massive achievement and one we are proud off. Our volunteer base is the back bone of our success with over 54 coaches and managers looking after the development and management of the playing group week in week out. We are a club that’s committed to the continued development of our coaches, players and match officials. Our coaches are required to undertake coach development programs and workshops, either in house or those run by our governing body Rugby WA. Add to this the well-structured and hard working committee and we, as a club, are ensured that future successes both on and off the field are guaranteed.

Joondalup Brothers Rugby Union Football Club. Our History in brief…

J

oondalup Brothers was founded in 1997 by players from nearby clubs who were keen to expand the game of rugby in the burgeoning Northern corridor and have a team that would proudly represent the Joondalup area. Our founding members; Chris Baker, Tony Barker, Leon Bettson, Neil Tumelty and Russell Peart, continue to be active members. In April 1998 Joondalup Brothers began playing competition rugby at the Arena, Joondalup. Bob Barker was the first member of the club and his son Kyle was the first junior member in 1998. From our very humble beginnings, the club has made incredible progress both in terms of on-field rugby achievements and also, more importantly, with the vital off-field set up, infrastructure and management. Now over 15 years later, Joondalup Brothers RUFC are one of the biggest Rugby clubs in Western Australia, we reside in a million dollar club house at the Arena Joondalup complex and have a strength and conditioning facility and a Rugby Union Academy. The club currently operates a strong volunteer committee which runs the administration of all senior & junior teams, works closely with State Rugby Union Body, and runs numerous rugby specific and social gatherings. Since its inception, the club has longed for Premier Grade status. Season 2014 this dream was realized when the club gained promotion into the Premier Reserves competition for the first time in its history. A huge amount of planning, commitment and hard work has been undertaken to get to this point and the rewards were soon on show with the Premier Reserves Team inaugural win coming in round 3 against Wests Scarborough 20 to 19. This was quickly followed up with a resounding win against the highly fancied Cottesloe club 41 to 13 the following week. Impressive performances continued and come season’s end our Premier Reserve Grade side finished the regular season with 13 wins from 18 games and secured a place in the finals.

This was as far as the team would progress eventually going down to Associates 18 to 3 in a very tough battle. With an exciting future ahead season we will continue to develop and will certainly deliver more key milestones and club highlights as we forge ahead into a new chapter to the clubs already impressive history.

Our On Field Strengths…

T

he Joondalup Brothers Rugby Union Football Club has made a big impact on the local rugby scene in Western Australia in just 15 short years. We are a highly successful club that has won many Champion Club awards multiple premierships at junior and senior levels and have high numbers of players selected for representative honours year in year out. Our senior division is a consistent performer and has built a solid reputation within its competition. With teams competing in both competitive and social competitions we have a place for all players no matter what your abilities or experiences are. Our juniors are also consistent performers across all age groups with most teams making Semi-Final and Grand Final appearances. Every age group has multiple teams where players of any level can participate safely in a fun and enjoyable environment. We also have a Club Academy that runs during the post and pre-season periods and puts players through a rigorous strength and conditioning program along with intensive skills coaching. As a club we have a huge focus on player development with the focus of creating a player pool that will represent the club at its highest level. We are also focussed on creating an environment for our more social players to enjoy running around, both aspects are vitally important and enable us, as a club, to secure our future.

Parents and players alike are expected to make a significant commitment; the Academy is about taking a player to the next level in their development. Participation of 90% was demanded in order to enable the players to get full value of the academy program which would facilitate their expected development.
