Inspired by the dedication and commitment of our community, Humane Society Silicon Valley strives to save 95% of all the animals in our care, including those that need specialized medical and rehabilitative treatment. As generous benefactors and leaders in community engagement, our special event sponsors are key contributors to the eventual achievement of this life-saving goal.

Special Event Sponsorship

About Humane Society Silicon Valley Every year, Humane Society Silicon Valley saves and enhances lives, finding loving homes for more than 3,000 pets annually. As the animal welfare leader in this community and founding member of an alliance of Silicon Valley sheltering partners, Humane Society Silicon Valley is committed to saving 100% of the healthy animals in our care; a goal we have satisfied every year since 2006. As a result of this achievement and the shared determination of our partner organizations, the alliance received the 2011 Maddie’s Fund® Lifesaving Award. We are the first community of this size in the nation to be recognized with this award. Inspired by the dedication and commitment of our community, Humane Society Silicon Valley strives to save 95% of all the animals in our care, including those that need specialized medical and rehabilitative behavioral treatment. Because we are an independent, non-profit organization, 75% of our funding comes from individual donors and business partners. It is with that support—your support—that we will continue to save 100% of the healthy animals in our care, and will soon satisfy our goal to save 95% of all animals in our care.

Why Sponsor an Event? Since we believe in building partnerships, the goal of special event sponsorship is to nurture your company’s connection to a market of high-impact individuals that enjoy influence in the Silicon Valley business community. We prioritize your needs while showcasing your philanthropy before, during, and after the event. Your support of our hallmark events promotes your brand to the Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and business leaders who are our organization’s most generous benefactors. Key patrons of both events are members of our exclusive President’s Circle; about 500 households that, together, donated over 2 million in 2013. Page 1

How Sponsorship Works We have found that the most effective way to deliver a great return on your investment while also executing a successful and lifesaving fundraising event is to invite you to design your own benefit package. To this end we have developed a list of benefit options (see pages 3–6) and ask that you check the box next to any desired benefits, some of which have associated minimum investments, and some of which do not. Your selections will initiate a conversation to help us arrive at a sponsorship value and budget.

Next Steps If you are ready to select your desired benefits, please complete pages 3–7 and return to our Development Manager, whose contact information is listed below. Upon receipt of your selection, we will contact you to discuss a budget, make any desired changes, and finalize your sponsorship. Final steps may include completion of a co-signed agreement, issuance of an invoice, and procurement of your logos. Our Events: The Fur Ball and Walk ‘n Wag The Fur Ball, now in its twelfth year, is our spring gala; a glamorous, invitation-only, black-tie affair featuring live and silent auctions, a multi-course dinner, live entertainment, and four-legged guests dressed to the nines. In 2014, The Fur Ball raised a record-breaking $885,000 toward our mission to save and enhance lives! The theme of our 2014 gala: “Animals in Wonderland” evoked an extraordinary journey. At Humane Society Silicon Valley, we accompany thousands of animals each year on journeys to new, loving homes—an animal’s true “Wonderland”. In celebration of this magical tale, The Fur Ball 2014—“Animals in Wonderland” delivered fun, whimsy, and heart, resulting in our great success! After all, it was heart that brought The Fur Ball to life twelve years ago—a transformational development that, since that time, has generated nearly five million dollars for Silicon Valley animals! The Fur Ball 2015 will be held on Saturday, April 18th at the Menlo Circus Club in Atherton. Walk ‘n Wag, also in its twelfth year, is our fall walk-a-thon and peer-to-peer fundraiser. This event offers its sponsors fantastic opportunities for email, social media, and other web-based exposure to our constituents, as the majority of the funds raised are generated by the online activity of walk participants. It is a community-based effort that yields increasingly impressive results! Individuals and teams, including tough competitors from major Silicon Valley

corporations like NVIDIA, Google, Oracle, and Facebook raised an incredible $230,000 through this event in 2013! Walk ‘n Wag culminates in a dogfocused walk and festival which includes contests, vendors, music, prizes, and great food. Walk ‘n Wag 2014 will be held on Saturday, October 4th at Hellyer County Park in San Jose.

Recent Sponsors The continued support of our renewing sponsors demonstrates their leadership in our community and inspires others to help maintain the momentum of these fundraising efforts!
