Southwest Missouri Conference September 24th and 25th, 2015 in Joplin, MO You are cordially invited to join us in a journey of knowledge, partnership, and enterprise as we present the first official meeting and conference of the Missouri Statewide Coalition of Recovery Support Providers. We will be presenting an array of dynamic speakers on a wide variety of topics. Featuring Terence T. Gorski as our Keynote Speaker and "Dinner Conversations with Mr. Gorski" there will be a $10.00 charge for dinner the evening of the 24th. This will take place at the beautiful Hotel Joplin in Joplin, MO. Registration, Agenda, Speaker Bio's, and costs are all included in this packet. There will be up to 13.25 CEU's attainable from this conference and they will be available for pick up at the end of each day of the conference.

Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers SW Conference Presents the following line-up: Terence T. Gorski Terence T. Gorski is a pioneer in the development of Relapse Prevention Therapy, who has achieved international acclaim for his work, for the past 35 years. Terry Gorski is considered a leader and authority in the addiction, behavioral health, social services, and correctional industries for his work in recovery and relapse prevention. Mr. Gorski holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Arts Degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is also a Certified Addiction Professional in Florida, a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) and Nationally Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC II) by NAADAC, and a Senior Certified Addiction Counselor (CSAC) in the State of Illinois. Mr. Gorski is the Founder and President of The CENAPS* Corporation and is currently a lecturing professor and Coordinator of the Addiction Studies Concentration at the Tampa Bay Campus of Springfield College. Mr. Gorski also serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida School of Addiction Studies and Florida NAADAC. Mr. Gorski's practical approach to recovery and relapse prevention is based on more than thirty-five years experience as a therapist, supervisor, program administrator, and consultant. He has become a leading authority on the use of science-based models for preventing relapse. His unique approach to treatment system development is biopsychosocial in nature and integrates the use of cognitive, affective, behavioral, family, and community recovery methods. His greatest talent is his ability to break down complex treatment and recovery processes into clear and simple steps that can be used by professionals working with addicted people in addiction treatment programs, mental health centers, and the criminal justice system. Mr. Gorski is a prolific author and has published such classics as Staying Sober: A Guide for Relapse Prevention, and Passages Through Recovery: An Action Plan for Preventing Relapse. His most recent book addresses Depression and Relapse.

Renee White, Ed.D, LCSW Dr. White is currently the Department Head of the Social Work program at Missouri Southern State University and the Executive Director of the Community Clinic of Joplin. Dr. White has 32 years’ experience as a professional Clinical Social Worker, Counselor, and Educator. Her primary emphasis has been on children and families with substance use disorders, mental health and trauma backgrounds. Dr. White holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Pittsburgh State University, Pittsburgh, Kansas, a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, Arkansas, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. Dr. White is a published author and has done several National Presentations such as "PRACTICE: Building Community Capacity through Coaching" for the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, "After Change" for the Southwest Sociological Society, "Working with Families Affected by Substance Abuse" for Alternative Opportunities and many more. Dr. White has done several national presentations and trainings on Post-Disaster, Preparedness. Emergency Response, and Mental Health Supports after the Joplin May 2011 Disaster. Most recently Dr White was voted one of the 15 Most Influential Women of 2014 in the Joplin Regional Business Journal, nominated for the Excellence in Community Service Awards for three years in a row, awarded the Women of Distinction Award, Soroptimist International of the Joplin Chapter, First Lady Award nominee, First Lady Melanie Blunt, by the State of Missouri, Advocate of the Year Award by Jasper County Prosecutors Office and has received the Vocational Excellence Award by the Daybreak Rotary Club. Dr. White has been considered a leader in the Jasper/Newton County area for the past 30 years.

Scott Breedlove

Mr. Breedlove is the Assistant Director of Missouri Credentialing board, serves as a Senior Pastor of Landmark Church, is an Adjunct Professor for Columbia College, and provides private services to Missouri Probation and Parole and Missouri Division of Family Services in the area of substance use disorder education classes, anger management, domestic violence, and parenting classes. In addition Mr. Breedlove has a private training company and conducts trainings throughout the State of Missouri and the United States. Mr. Breedlove has done such presentations as being the Keynote Speaker at the West Region Problem Gambling Conference in Seattle Washington.

Reverend Mike Rogers Reverend Rogers is the founder and president of Higher Ground Recovery Center, a Christian recovery support and certified intensive outpatient treatment provider in Springfield, MO. Reverend Rogers is an ordained Minister with Elim Fellowship and also founder of Highlife Church in Springfield of which he continues as Senior Pastor. He received his Masters in Counseling for the assemblies of God Theological Seminary in 2004 and currently holds LPC, CRAADC, and MRSS-Credentials with over 22 years of experience in the field of substance use disorders. Reverend Rogers also serves as President of the Recovery Coalition of the Ozarks, a coalition of recovery support providers in the southwest region of Missouri and is a member of the Missouri Coalition of recovery Support Providers, statewide.

Reverend Ladell Flowers Reverend Flowers is currently the Executive Director of Dismas House of Kansas City, Inc., a state certified outpatient substance use disorder treatment center and credentialed recovery support program. Reverend Flowers has many years of experience as a Substance Used Disorder Counselor, Certified Criminal Justice Professional and Re-Entry Services. Reverend Flowers holds a double Masters in Counseling and Education for the University of Missouri, Columbia Missouri and is a Licensed and Ordained Minister.

Scott Johnston Currently, Mr. Johnston is providing services for the Missouri Department of Mental Health, focusing on behavioral health services for the adult correctional population. He is also Vice president of the Missouri Recovery Network, Board of Directors and Secretary to the Board for Healing House and New Beginnings, Inc., a transitional housing program for women in Jefferson City, MO. Mr. Johnston earned a Master's Degree from St Louis University in Urban Affairs with an emphasis on criminal justice policy. He worked as a probation and parole officer in St. Louis, before being appointed to the position of Planning and Policy Specialist for the Department of Corrections in 1987. In 1992 he was appointed as the Department's first Chief of Substance Abuse Services and subsequently as the Assistant Division Director over Substance Abuse Treatment Services. This was during a period of rapid growth for both institutional and community based substance use disorder treatment programs for the adult correctional population in Missouri. In 1997 Mr. Johnston returned to the Board of Probation and Parole, where he served as Assistant Division Director and then Chief State Supervisor until his retirement in 2010.

Brenda Schell Ms. Schell is currently the Executive Director of the Missouri Recovery Network, which is a statewide recovery community organization and the statewide Voice for substance use disorder recovery. In her role as Director, she works to improve community and public understanding of addiction and recovery, advocates at the local, state, and national levels to improve public policy and improve greater access to recovery supports and services, works to reduce stigma and discrimination which keeps many people from seeking the help they need to recover, and helps promote a statewide oriented system of care. Ms. Schell has been with MRN for over eight years and has worked in the non-profit arena for over 25 years.

Mark Shields Mr. Shields is the Project Director for Missouri's Access to recovery grants. Mr. Shields is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Reciprocal Advanced Drug Counselor with 30 years of experience in the behavioral health field. Mr. Shields received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Counseling from the University of Missouri in 1981 and 1984, respectively. For the past 14 years, Mr. Shields has served as staff for the Missouri Division of Behavioral Health.
