INSTALLATION: (See “Installation Drawing - Electronic Single Ton Container”, on Page 5 of the O&M Manual)
These scales consist of two basic assemblies: An electronic load cell with cable connected to a digital readout, and the fabricated steel scale frame complete with trunnions. The Load Cell (with base plate down) is placed on a level concrete floor directly under the rail of a monorail hoist (this type of hoist is generally used to load the ton containers on the scale). The scale frame is now placed over the Load Cell, such that the hole on the lip of the frame is centered over the load button on the Load Cell. If your load button does not align with the hole on the lip of the frame, field calibration of your scale will be necessary. Be sure to position the Load Cell so that it is parallel with the scale frame (See Drawing 29626a-SOLO).
The Load Cell is equipped with 20' of shielded cable which connects to the inside of the bottom of the indicator (see page 10. If you are imbedding conduit in your concrete pad, between your scale and indicator, we recommend 1-1/2" ID conduit so you can fit all your load cell cables in one conduit. DO NOT run any other inductive load with your load cell cable.
CAUTION: DO NOT CUT LOAD CELL CABLE !!!. THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. Now the scale frame hinge and Load Cell can be lag bolted (Red Head Anchor Bolts) to the concrete floor, and the digital readout mounted in a convenient location.

These scales consist of three basic assemblies: An electronic load cell with cable connected to a digital readout, and two fabricated steel scale frames complete with trunnions. The Load Cell (with base plate down) is placed on a level concrete floor directly under the rail of a monorail hoist (this type of hoist is generally used to load the ton containers on the scale). The scale frame with FLAT plate is now placed so the hole in the center of the flat plate rests over the center of the load button on the load cell. The other scale frame with the ROUND STOCK on the plate is then placed so that the round stock rests on the center hole of the flat plate frame. To assure that the total scale is quare, make sure that the distance from frame to frame measured from the outer edges of the scale measure 62" at each end. Also, that there is 11-1/2" clearance between the frames. If these dimensions are correct and the load cell is centered, the scale will weigh correctly. Be sure to position the Load Cell so that it is parallel with the scale frames (See Drawing 29625SOLO). The Load Cell is equipped with 20' of shielded cable which connects to the inside of the bottom of the indicator (see page 10). These scales consist of two basic assemblies: An electronic load cell with cable connected to a digital readout, and the fabricated steel scale frame complete with levers and trunnions. The frame assembly is placed on a level concrete floor directly under the rail of a monorail hoist (this type of hoist is generally used to load and unload the ton containers on the scale). The load cell is bolted under the center beam with the bolts provided. NOTE: WHEN ATTACHING LOAD CELL TO CENTER BEAM, BE SURE LOAD BUTTON IS FACING DOWN AND THAT LOAD CELL SHIM IS BETWEEN LOAD CELL AND BASE PLATE.
Note: The shear-beam load cell must be cantilevered to allow deflection when weight is applied from the upper lever arm to the load button. The lever arm must contact the LOAD BUTTON only and no other part of the load cell anchor assembly. (See drawing 29894SOLO on page 9 and Drawing 29818a on page 10). The Load Cell is equipped with 20' of shielded cable which connects to the inside of the bottom of the indicator (see page 14). If you are imbedding conduit in your concrete pad, between your scale and indicator, we recommend 1-1/2" ID conduit so you can fit all your load cell cables in one conduit. DO NOT run any other inductive load with your load cell cable.
