Acrylic Paint Bottles There are numerous brands of acrylic paints. Each brand manufactures the paint according to company standards. Therefore, as you will discover, a Cadmium Yellow made by one company may vary from a Cadmium Yellow made by another. The pigments that I am recommending for beginning color exercises are Golden Fluid Paint. However, other brands of paint may be used in the future. Think about what you want to work on this semester. Bring some ideas, or a rough draft or manuscript if you have one. ( I can assign a project if you don't have a plan. )



Bring a note pad and markers or a pen to take notes.



You can use whatever medium you wish for the course. ( For example, if you plan to use watercolors, get a set. If you are using pastels, plan to get those. However, it is not necessary to bring them to the

first class. You can purchase them at the school store, or at any favorite art store in the area, or use material you already have. 

Some students may wish to use computer enhanced images or photos for the project, while others may wish to use the traditional methods.



Please get a copy of WRITING WITH PICTURES by URI SHULEVITZ. You can purchase a paperback version on amazon.com or get it from the library.



Get a pad of tracing paper. This can be 8"x10" unless you work very large. (In that case, you may want to purchase it in sheets, or get a larger pad.)
