INTRODUCTION

CONNECTING THE SMART TV BOX

Read this Guide and the Safety Cautions in the User Manual before setting up your device. The system consists of the Smart TV Box, wi-fi dongle and remote handset. • The Box is connected to a TV set or monitor via an HDMI interconnect. • The unit may optionally be connected to the internet via a suitable modem/ router either via an Ethernet cable (not supplied) or via the supplied Wi-Fi dongle. Operational range can be extended using the Technika Homeplug. • An external media storage device (hard drive, USB stick, etc) may be connected via a USB connector to the device for replaying suitably encoded music, videos or pictures. • A Coaxial SPDIF output is available for connection to an AV system, etc.

PLACEMENT Place the unit on a stable shelf where it cannot drop or get knocked over. Make sure all connecting cables are routed safely out of harms way. There should be a clear line of sight between the viewer/s so that the handset can be easily operated. There are no user controls on the box.

TV CONNECTION Connect the HDMI output of the Box to a free HDMI port on your TV or Video Monitor via a suitable HDMI cable. Do not use cables longer than necessary.

UNPACKING The carton should contain: • The Smart TV Box (Media Streamer): Remote Control Handset: HDMI Cable • External 5.0VDC Mains Power Adapter: USB Wi-Fi Dongle If any items are missing or damaged, contact your nearest TESCO store for a replacement. Have your receipt ready when you call. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it, do so having regard to any recycling regulations in your area. Before starting you will need to purchase two AAA batteries and an HDMI cable. Depending on the internet connection you may also need to purchase an Ethernet (RJ45) cable. If you plan to connect the Box to your Audio or Home Cinema system you will also need an RCA Phono-RCA Phono Digital interconnect cable. WPS ETHERNET

To connect the media streamer to the Internet you will need a suitably equipped modem/router. If you are in any doubt contact your Internet service provider. A: Ethernet connection: Ethernet connections offer superior connectivity to Wi-Fi connections. Connect a standard Ethernet cable (not supplied) between the Box and the modem/router. There are virtually no restrictions on the length of cable. B: Wireless connection: Plug the supplied USB wi-fi dongle into a USB socket on the Box. Wireless connection should be used where Ethernet connections are impractical.
