Overview ALPHATECH TECHNOLOGIES produces a wide range of SIP based VoIP doorphones, including the Alphatech SIP Cityline – in this document reffered to as „Fermax N-City“. The document is also valid for SIP Skyline and SIP Marine panels. Fermax N-City VoIP Doorstation for Control4 allows for two way audio/video SIP communications between Control4 touchscreens and Fermax N-City Doorstations with the ability to trigger relays 1 or 2 for gate or door strike release.

Driver Installation 1. The driver you have downloaded will be in a zip file. Double click on this file to open it in your preferred zip program (WinZip, WinRar, etc.).

2. Extract the c4i file to the My Documents\Control4\Drivers directory. If you are using Windows 7 or 8 this will be extracted to the Libraries\Documents\Control4\Drivers directory.

3. You are now ready to add and configure the driver via the Composer Pro software.

Adding the driver to your project 1. Launch the Composer Pro application and connect to your project 2. In the ‘System Design’ page select the ‘Search’ tab on the right hand side.

3. Type in ‘fermax in the search bar and press the enter key

4. Double click on each of the following drivers to add them to your project (we need both)  Intercom Doorstation Fermax N-City – This is the driver which will communicate to the SIP Server  Fermax N-City H264 – This is the driver we will utilise if we want to view the doorstation camera when not in intercom mode and to connect to the intercom driver for viewing in intercom mode. 5. Add any motorised devices you wish to control via the relays (door locks, doors, motorised gates, etc) 6. On the left hand side highlight the H264 Camera driver.

7. It will prompt you for the Hostname/IP Address, HTTP Port. Please enter in the IP Address and Port for the N-City doorstation and press Set.

8. Click on the Intercom driver on the left hand side 9. Check the box labelled ‘Use Alternative Camera’. Select the H264 camera we added in and press OK.

10. If you want you can add virtual buttons to the intercom screen. This is useful for opening door locks and gates.

11. Type in a username and password for your doorstation. Note this is to authenticate your doorstation to the SIP server on Control4. If you want you can leave it as the default.

12. Enter in the IP Address and Port of the N-City. This is used to trigger the relays. NOTE: The N-City will disconnect the video stream upon relay triggering. It is recommended that if you need to trigger two relays to allow for entrance that you program both in the same button.

13. Click on Agents. Add in the communications agent if you haven’t already. 14. Create a new group. The name of the new group has to be numerical as the N-City can only dial numbers

15. Add in any touchscreens you want to call when the group is fired

16. If you have connected any devices to the N-City relays then bind them to the driver by clicking on Connections and the Intercom driver.

17. If you want to program the virtual buttons click on programming and then Intercom. There will be events for Button 1 & 2 Press and Release. This is useful for programming the relays we just added in.

18. Click on ‘file’ and ‘Refresh Navigator’ 19. Please setup the intercom as per next section Programming the N-City to call Control4 1. Connect to the Fermax N-City webserver. 2. Click on Network Settings 3. Make sure you setup a static IP Address on the unit. This is needed so we can trigger the relays reliably

4. Click on save and restart 5. Once rebooted reconnect to the settings page. 6. Click on SIP parameters 7. It will prompt you for the SIP proxy server address. Enter in the IP Address of director. 8. It will prompt you for the SIP registrar server address. Enter in the IP Address of director 9. It will prompt you for Name and Auth. Id: Enter this as the username that we entered into the driver.

11. Click on save changes. 12. It will now try to connect to Control4. If successful it will say Registration successful. 13. Click on Memory numbers 14. On Button 2 set Group DAY and Group NIGHT to the the Group name we defined earlier (in this example it is 1234). Note you may want to call a different Group at night. That is up to the clients preferences.

15. Click on save changes 16. Congratulations you have now setup the Fermax N-City intercom with Control4.

Licencing Upon adding the driver to your project you will notice the following fields in the driver’s property page.

The Licence Status will tell you the licencing status of your driver. You will need to obtain a licence from the Supplier to unlock this driver. The licence is locked to your Control4 MAC Address so please provide this to them.
