Falls Prevention National Senior Health & Fitness Day Wednesday, May 28 9:45 am - 11:30am Injury prevention is the theme of Older Americans Month in May.

Falls threaten seniors’ safety and independence and are the leading cause of injury death for older Americans. Falls with or without injury also carry a heavy quality of life impact. A growing number of older adults fear falling and, as a result, selflimit activities and social engagements. This can result in further physical decline, depression, social isolation, and feelings of helplessness. However, falling is not an inevitable result of aging. The number of falls among seniors can be substantially reduced. Join us for a morning of fun and interactive events that address this issue. Safety and fitness go hand in hand on this day.
