Lights camera ACTION! It’s not the Oscars – it’s the MIB Awards The Merseyside Independent Business (MIB) Awards is the only ceremony in the region to be dedicated to celebrating the achievements of independent business. With more than 300 attendees, the inaugural event in 2013 was hailed a huge success and gained support from city region representatives and stakeholders, including Liverpool Vision, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, The BID Company, Social Enterprise Network as well as leading local businesses and entrepreneurs. The MIB Awards returns to the Liverpool City Region in October this year, and organisers are anticipating more entries from local business owners for their chance to win a professional support package worth over £10,000. With up to 400 delegates expected to attend the black tie dinner at The Titanic Hotel’s Rum Warehouse, Liverpool’s newest and most exclusive waterfront venue, the event looks set to be bigger, better and even more successful than its launch! With an iconic film theme all of our guests will be stars for the evening…it’s showtime!

Testimonials Merseyside is home to so many thriving independent businesses and it’s certainly about time they were recognised. The MIB awards are a fantastic way to celebrate the businesses that otherwise might not receive recognition. We have won several awards and are very proud. To be named as Merseyside Restaurant of the Year is a real honour.

The MIB Awards is an exciting event and at PSL we were happy to be part of it! As an independent business based in Merseyside for 25 years now, it seems more than appropriate that we joined this great opportunity of networking with other local businesses looking to raise their profile in the community. Camille Flores Powder Systems Limited

The awards are a very welcome addition to the city region and I look forward to keeping an eye out for next year’s nominees! Candice Fonseca Proprietor Delifonseca

Thanks again for allowing us to be involved.

Winning the MIB Award for Investment into Communities and the Environment is an acknowledgment that community based organisations can achieve positive change at a grassroots level with significant impact on the strategic aims of the city. We are extremely proud of receiving this award as a Third Sector Business and demonstrates that we have come a long way in our aim: ‘To become a beacon for holistic learning and artistic expression, to champion community-led organisations as a source of strength for regeneration, enterprise and social cohesion, to be recognised both nationally and internationally as an innovator in the field of lifelong learning and community empowerment’.

Andy Webster Relationship Director RBS, Corporate Banking

Maxine Ennis Chief Executive Officer The Rotunda

The RBS considered the event to be a great success and it went down well with our guests. Sometimes success can be measured several months later, when an event is discussed. I would suggest all attendees can remember this one, whereas others have sometimes blended into each other as they don’t stand out!
