Which design features, stylistic elements and color schemes are most appealing Communications with all employees can be made more efficient and effective How the community can make better use of the web-based content Which graphic elements would maximize intuitive and user-friendly interaction Which design tools will best deliver increased employee engagement

Stefanini’s user-centered approach is based upon the information and access needs of the business user community, as defined in the Community Sizing and Participation Assessment deliverable

Stefanini will derive design requirements from the work patterns and information access needs of the system’s users

Information Asset needs and access requirements are captured as part of the Information Architecture and documented for use in subsequent phases

Results are compiled into a comprehensive, overview of user types, informational needs and accessibility requirements

Design •

Stefanini will construct role-based use cases which will document specifics details about the diverse types of users that comprise the intranet community

Stefanini also associated roles with information profiles to further develop an understanding of the informational domains that will be need for work

The Stefanini Portal Structural Design deliverable documents the arrangement and structuring of sites and site collections that will optimize functional interaction for the entire user base

Stefanini will also map navigational paths and search domains to end-user roles and their informational profiles to establish a complete view of relevant asset locations

During this phase Stefanini identifies all of the interactive components (Web Parts, Announcements, Feeds, Forums, Blogs, etc.) that are required to support the structuring of pages and consoles to produce greater employee efficiency

In Stefanini’s Wire Frame Design of User Interface deliverable, our professional design staff will document the approved wireframes and comps that have been reviewed, modified and approved to provide acceptable page designs, including graphics, icons, logos and backgrounds.

• The Three Phase Approach -

6

Implementation •

During this phase Stefanini’s professional staff will develop the master page that will provide a uniform look and feel for the home page and all application pages

This is also the phase in which Stefanini’s architects create and configure the lists and libraries specified in the Business Asset Inventory of Documents, Content and Data deliverable, and place them in strategic locations to hold data, documents, audio, video and links that match the needs of the various usage profiles

Stefanini’s Communication Facilities Plan deliverable specifies the Interactive page elements, such as web parts, announcements, feeds, forums, and blogs are configured or developed and strategically placed within page designs to support role-based informational requirements during the implementation.

During Implementation, Stefanini search designers add Search pages and search fields to portal pages and in strategic locations along with search refinement panels that address specific end-user information requirements.

SharePoint Portal Home Pages and Master Page Design

• Stefanini’s Master Pages determine the principal stylistic unifying themes, and overall look and feel of the home page and the entire portal and are a key determinant of the attractiveness and speed of workforce adoption of the portal • As the central point of access to all other portal destinations, home pages are an ideal location for links, announcements, news and feeds for a broad spectrum of employees that Stefanini designers utilize to fulfill INVISTAnet’s information requirements • Stefanini designers invest considerable design effort in the development and review of wireframes and comps to ensure the successful adoption of the key visual elements of the overall portal design • Stefanini works in close collaboration with the stakeholder community to gain the broadest possible approval of these prominent visual elements of the portal’s appearance

7

Wireframes, and Comps – Modeling the Look and Feel

• Stefanini’s wireframes and comps are vital communication tools that guarantee the success of the master page design in providing an attractive unifying theme for the entire portal. • Stefanini’s Wire Frame Design of User Interface deliverable documents the specifications that emerge from the iterative design and refinement process which is employed to encapsulate the preferences of the end-user community. • The placement of key design elements in the page context is determined through wire frame diagrams and the final pixel-perfect appearance of the page is rendered in design comps • Stefanini employs an iterative design and review cycle with the stakeholder community guarantee that the resulting styles and themes will be those that the user community has selected.

Mobility

• Like the master page and the home page, Stefanini’s design of mobility pages plays a central role in the speed and extent of the user community’s adoption of the portal • Stefanini also keeps the size limitations of mobility pages in mind when master pages are developed to ensure that common functionality and parallel stylistic elements and themes are maintained in both contexts. • Stefanini will optimize all mobility pages for INVISTA’s Good browser

• As specified in the INVISTAnet requirements, Stefanini will give consideration to remote and regional concerns during the design of mobility pages.

10

Work Center Design

• Stefanini’s Workforce Role Type Analysis deliverable is the foundational specification that documents role-based use cases to provide:

11

-

An incisive understanding of the informational assets employees need to do their work

-

A fundamental understanding of employee business goals, objectives and anticipated roadblocks

-

Information to the workforce before they realize they need it

-

Site Structure and Navigation

• Stefanini’s placement of the portal sites is also structured to conform to and support role-based informational needs and to minimize workforce traversal. • Stefanini’s Navigation Design is the deliverable that documents the mapping between informational storage locations and the user controls that afford access to them, which employs the best practice of minimization of traversal to provide access to information with a single click or two. • Stefanini’s capture of user profiles enables the implementation of Security Trimming and Audience Targeting features that

13

-

Automate the selection of information which is most useful and most preferred by the end-user community

-

Provide control over which data and content is visible to each user

-

Determine which search results are exposed to the querying user

Search

• SharePoint’s most powerful tool is frequently the most neglected element of

portal design. For that reason, Stefanini’s search designs incorporate metadata to facilitate the relevance and accuracy of search results.

14

Stefanini’s search designs are capable of being the broadest, most far-reaching, as well as, the most incisive information location tool in the portal

Relevant search results, detailed refinement panels, successive filtering capabilities and needle-in-the-haystack precision become possible through Stefanini’s careful and deliberate metadata taxonomy designs

Stefanini’s use of the SharePoint 2013’s analytics capabilities are configured and presented by using the new search web parts that reveal “most popular,” “most frequently accessed,” and “frequently associated items” relevant to the current search that the end-user has just submitted.

Stefanini’s Metadata Taxonomy deliverable defines this invisible but highly critical structural element that enables SharePoint to speak INVISTA’s business language!
