Serving the glass World

Anticipating changes in customer demands driven by today’s challenging economic environment, OMCO has positioned itself for the next generation. Over the past few years we have consistently allocated our profits to capacity expansion, tailored technology, updated machining centres and clever automation establishing a structure fit to serve our customers worldwide. Most importantly, we have significantly invested in our people. Currently, OMCO comprises a worldwide team of more than 1200 dedicated and motivated employees. With seven factories strategically positioned in line with our customer demands, supported by our own two modern foundries, and a competence centre at our headquarters in Belgium, the OMCO Group continues to master the art of mould making. Both our engineering and production capabilities are multi-disciplined and combine experience with new technologies to continually improve the final product. While each of our factories is producing full quality mould sets for its customers, each one also has its own special focus and strengths. These are shared within our group to create a world class offering in all areas of mould making. I am glad to report that the fruit of our investments has kept OMCO in place as one of the world’s leading commercial mould manufacturers. We will hold this course, and through continuous self improvement we commit ourselves to continue pursuing our customer’s satisfaction for quality products, timely deliveries and competitive prices. Darko Ranogajec C.E.O.

Foundry

With two strategically located foundries within our group (Belgium and Slovenia) we are able to monitor our material quality as well as react quickly to our customer’s needs. Our foundries provide us with quality cast iron and aluminium bronze castings and are proactive in the research and development of new materials. Continuous research is aimed at using the metals that best perform in terms of glass quality, thermal conductivity, wear resistance and manufacturing. In addition both foundries supply mechanical castings to the general engineering industries.

Manufacturing

OMCO is investing in the sharing of best practices throughout our group in order to achieve optimal quality in each of our plants. Modern CNC machine parks have replaced older manual units and are assisting our skilled workers in achieving the same great results in less time. As dictated by the market, we are continuously improving our manufacturing processes to become ever more efficient, and with both the right people and creative robotisation in place OMCO is in a unique position to respond to all our customer’s demands.

You will find OMCO engineering to be the best partner for your most challenging projects.

From our inception in 1964 in Belgium, to our current global group of factories, OMCO has consistently served the glass world with quality moulds for all types of glass packaging containers. Through the implementation of tailored technology in all our production units and the sharing of best practices across our group, OMCO has grown its global capacity to reach over 180,000 moulds per year. Some factories in the group specialise in certain products but all are capable of producing any type of mould in any type of material.

OMCO Croatia now boasts a facility measuring 12,000 square metres and has grown to become the biggest single facility in the world for dedicated glass mould manufacturing. In addition, this facility houses the group’s total neckring and guide plate manufacturing unit and thanks to a very heavy investment programme in robotisation will produce in 2013 approximately 330,000 pieces of all material, shapes and sizes.

Neck Rings

The company’s headquarters remains in Belgium along with a dedicated manufacturing unit for PB and NNPB plungers. The glass container industry’s drive for light weighting has created a demand for this type of product and OMCO are now able to offer all variations of coated plunger. Due to wise investment the high velocity spraying and subsequent machining is now fully robotised resulting in a high quality plunger which is competitively priced.

Plungers

A major strength of the OMCO Group is its ability to produce every component required for the moulding process. In line with the customers needs all illustrated accessories are produced in house and can be supplied as part of a mould set or in isolation.
