Image Setup for Class: HP Service Manager 9.20 software has been installed and is ready for scheduling in the Surgient environment. The Surgient environment can be accessed from the following URL: Americas VTMS Application: https://hpse-vtms.austin.hp.com/VTMS APJ VTMS Application: https://hpse-vtms-au.austin.hp.com/VTMS EMEA VTMS Application: https://hpse-vtms-europe.austin.hp.com/VTMS The name of the Surgient image is [EDS] Service Manager 9.2 v1.2. All of the passwords for the administrator accounts (“falcon” for Service Manager, “admin” for Release Control and UCMDB) have been set to “hpswDemo$09!” When you log in to the VTMS session and launch Internet Explorer the following menu is displayed:

Obtaining Software License Keys Every 90 days, a new software license key for Service Manager needs to be obtained. This section details how to request and install a new license key into the Surgient lab environment.

Go to - http://hpils.ocs.com/welcome.asp. Click Continue. Enter the appropriate email addresses and intended use.

Choose the appropriate product and quantity.

Click submit license request Click Continue from the Confirmation page. Save a copy of the Session ID and Licensing team email address in case of questions. (for example, 74136) Click Exit

Generating a New License with your Order Number 9. Wait for an email with the approval of your request that contains the Order Number 10. After receiving your Order Number, go to http://www.webware.hp.com 11. If requested, sign in with your existing login id and password OR enter your email address and create a new password as a first time user.

13. Enter the Order Number. 14. Click Next 15. Check the box in the Select product column and click Next

Note: The only available license option for SM9.20 is “HPINT-SM7.”

16. Review the transaction summary and click Next.

Service Manager 9.20 Foundations – Instructor Support Document 17. Click Save License key for HPINT-SM – 7. It downloads a file named HPINT-SM7.dat. Save HPINTSM7.dat as LicFile.txt in the following directory: C:\Program Files\HP\Service Manager 9.20\Server\RUN. Also save it in a safe place on your desktop or My Documents to reuse for the next 180 days. Skip to step 20. OR 18. Copy the entire license code listed at the bottom of the certificate.

19. Navigate to C:\Program Files\HP\Service Manager 9.20\Server\RUN.

Service Manager 9.20 Foundations – Instructor Support Document 20. Edit LicFile.txt file and paste your new license code over your existing license code. Make sure that you don’t have any spaces or carriage returns. Save the file.

Verifying your New Service Manager License 21. From Services, stop and start the HP Service Manager 9.20 Server. 22. Log into Service Manager and verify that the new license code has been successfully updated.

23. Use falcon with no password and click Connect.

24. After successful login, the new updated HP Autopass codes have been validated. You will receive a screen similar to below.

Obtaining Service Manager Software and other Third-party Components Download Service Manager 9.20 from Partner Central prior to arriving to class. Note: You must have a compatible Operating System on your laptop or VM Image. Double-click the embedded SM 9.20 compatibility matrix below for system requirements.

Obtaining SM 9.20 Software as an HP Employee Option 1: go to the software evaluation site at http://www.hp.com/software/evalportal     

Click the Service Management Center link Select “HP Service Manager 9.20 English SW E-Media” and click the Receive for Trial button. Verify your contact information, accept the license agreement (select the checkbox) and click Next The Order Confirmation screen is displayed. Click the Get Software tab In section 1 select “Show all software products.” In section 2, highlight the product you wish to download. In section 3 click the Download Directly button or the Use HP Download Manager button. You can select the following products to download:

Obtaining Other Components Needed for Service Manager 9.20 Installations For the Knowledge Search Engine: ·

Navigate to BTO software  Downloads & Licenses  Service Management Center product downloads  HP Service Manager 7.0 software. Download HP Service Manager 7.0 – KM Search Engine **.

** To install iso images, go to http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html. Download Virtual CloneDrive (freeware). Note: Service Manager 9.20 still uses the Knowledge Search Engine that was release with version 7. For Java and Apache Tomcat: To obtain Java from the web, go to http://java.sun.com/ and navigate to DownloadsJava for Developers. Select the Download JDK button next to JDK 6 Update 21. At the next screen select the Download button. Select your platform. Select Multi Language. You may need to log in (if you do not have an account, create one). Under Available Files click the jdk-6u21-windows-i586.exe link to download the executable. Please Note: Sun continually changes this website. These instructions may change. ·

To obtain Apache Tomcat from the web, go to http://archive.apache.org/dist/tomcat/tomcat6/v6.0.28/bin. Download apache-tomcat-6.0.28.exe.

It is recommended to install Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express to manage your SQL database. · To obtain Studio Express from the web, go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c243a5ae-4bd1-4e3d-94b85a0f62bf7796&DisplayLang=en. Read the instructions and additional information. Download SQLServer2005_SSMSEE.msi. If you intend to install Service Manager in a VMWare Image, you must bring your own VM Image to class. One will NOT be provided for you. Depending on what you have installed in your VMWare image, make sure your VM Image size is 10GB - 15GB to ensure you have available disk space to copy the software into the VM image and install the software. The install software can be removed after installation.

Computer Hardware\Classroom Setup Requirements   







One PC per student, ideally. (One PC for every two students is acceptable) One PC for instructor. This PC should be configured exactly like the students PC's with the exception that this PC is connected to the overhead projector.
