Geride bırakmak üzere olduğumuz yıl, tüm dünyada gözle görülür derecede değişimlerin yaşandığı, Orta Doğuda “Arap Baharı” ile dengelerin değiştiği, öte yanda bir bakıma insanlığın “yeniden aydınlandığı”, 11.11.11 gibi özel bir tarihe sahip bir yıl olarak izlerini bırakacak. Bizler de Scala Mice olarak her zamanki heyecan ve enerjimize bu zamanın ruhunu katarak çalıştık. Dergimizin bu sayısında, yine yılın son 4 ayında neler yaptığımızı, nerelere gittiğimizi, en canlı fotoğraflar ve açıklamalar eşliğinde zevkle okuyacağınızı umuyoruz. Türkiye’nin ilk ve tek operatör markalı tableti “Vodafone Smart Tablet”in sunuşu da Türkiye’de bir ilk oldu. Ceva ekibinin Meksika’da geçirdikleri keyifli “iş” seyahatlerini nasıl gerçekleştirdiğimizi de görebilirsiniz. Ülkemiz için unutulmayacak bir deprem afeti daha yaşadığımız 2011’e, bir daha bu denli kayıplar vermemeyi umarak, herkes için sağlık ve mutluluk getirecek yeni bir yıla merhaba diyerek veda ediyoruz. Greetings Readers, The end of 2011 marks the closing of a year during which we have witnessed significant changes worldwide. The “Arab Spring” shattered the status quo in the Middle East but meanwhile, humanity has been “re-enlightened” in other ways and we have experienced a special date on our calendars: November 11, 2011. Therefore, we here at Scala m.i.c.e. have prepared this issue supplementing our usual professional enthusiasm and energy with an element of the zeitgeist. In this issue, we present what we have done and where we have been in the last four months of 2011 with the most picturesque photos and commentaries for your reading pleasure. We feature the launching of the “Vodafone Smart Tablet,” the first and the only operator-branded tablet computer in Turkey, as well as our story about the Ceva team’s “incredible” business trip to Mexico. Bidding farewell to 2011, a year during which we have also suffered from a catastrophic earthquake, we salute the New Year with wishes of health and prosperity for everyone, hoping we will not pass through such traumatic experiences ever again. VODAFONE SMARTTAB 10 BASIN LANSMANI SANTRAL İSTANBUL’DA GERÇEKLEŞTİ Vodafone Türkiye, Türkiye’nin ilk operator markalı tableti “ Vodafone Smarttab 10”un basın lansman toplantısı, 15 Kasım 2011 tarihinde Santral İstanbul’da gerçekleştirdi. Lansman Türkiye’de ilk kez kullanılan bir teknolojik sunum tekniği ile yapıldı. Hareket algısı ile sunum kontrolü, sunum içindeki öğelere yine hareket algısı ile tıklanabilmesi vb. ilklerin bir arada gerçekleştirildiği teknoloji, özel hazırlanmış sunuma değer kattı. En üst düzeyde teknoloji kullanan Vodafone, basın lansman toplantısında yine en üst düzeyde teknoloji içeren bu tekniği Türkiye’de ilk kez kullandığı için takdir topladı. 2. Dönem sonuçlarının da açıklandığı lansman toplantısı kokteyl ile noktalandı.

VODAFONE SMARTTAB 10 PRESS LAUNCH HELD AT SANTRAL ISTANBUL Vodafone held the press launch for “Vodafone Smarttab 10,” which will be the first tablet computer to be released under the brand of an operator in Turkey, at Santral Istanbul on November 15, 2011. The launch was conducted with a cutting-edge technological presentation technique to be used for the first time in Turkey. The technology allows, inter alia, presentation control and also the clicking of presentation items by means of motion sensors which added novelty and interest to the customdesigned presentation. Vodafone, known for its innovationist approach for the utilization of state-of-the-art technology, once again managed to earn brownie points from the audiences for this technique. The launch meeting ended with a cocktail reception following the announcement of the results for the Second Term.

ERICSSON ACADEMY AÇILDI Teknoloji devi telekomünikasyon altyapı sağlayıcısı Ericsson firması bilişim sektörünün istihdamına katkı sağlayacak Ericsson Academy’nin resmi açılışını gerçekleştirdi. Ericsson’un telekomünikasyon alanındaki 135 yıllık deneyimi, mühendislik tecrübesi ve bilgi birikimini müşteriler, iş ortakları ve üniversitelerle buluşturduğu Ericsson Academy’nin resmi açılışı, 4 Kasım 2011 Cuma günü, Ulaştırma, Denizcilik ve Haberleşme Bakanı Binali Yıldırım tarafından yapıldı.

ERICSSON ACADEMY OPENS Ericsson, the giant technology developer and telecommunications infrastructure provider, officially opened Ericsson Academy, which is intended to contribute to employment in the Turkish IT industry. Ericsson Academy is where Ericsson intends to share its 135 years of experience, engineering expertise and knowledge in the field of telecommunications with its customers, business partners and universities. The formal opening was held with the attendance of Mr. Binali Yıldırım, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, on Friday, November 4, 2011.

ASSAN PANEL İŞ ORTAKLARI TOPLANTISI Assan Panel İş Ortakları Toplantısı 29 Eylül – 2 Ekim 2011 tarihleri arasında Antalya Rixos Sungate Hotel’de gerçekleşti. Gelenekselleşen Tavla Turnuvası’nda katılımcılar ustalıklarını sergileyip ardından düzenlenen ödül töreni ile madalyalarını aldılar. İş Ortakları Toplantısı’nda Assan Panel Ailesi 2011 yılının değerlendirmesini yapıp, 2012 yılı için de motive oldular. Keyifli geçen aktivite ve toplantı sonrası şarkıcı Bengü’nün sahne aldığı gala yemeğinde, davetliler eğlenceli bir gece geçirdiler.

ASSAN PANEL BUSINESS PARTNERS’ MEETING Assan Panel Business Partners’ Meeting was held at Rixos Sungate Hotel, Antalya, between September 29 and October 2, 2011. Throughout the meeting the contestants of the Backgammon Tournament, which has become a traditional event of the meetings, displayed their skills and the winners were awarded their medals at the ceremony. Also, the Assan Panel Family assessed the performance of 2011 and motivated attendees for the year 2012. The exciting event was brought to a close with a dinner reception livened by a performance from Bengu which the invitees appeared to greatly enjoy.

NUMIL SATIŞ EKİBİ TOPLANTISI Numil Satış Ekibi, 03-06 Ekim 2011 tarihleri arasında The Marmara Antalya Otel’de gerçekleşen organizasyon ile bir araya geldi. “Kazanan Kültür” sloganı ile yola çıkıp, önümüzdeki yılın satış ve pazarlama stratejileri üzerine keyifli ve başarılı bir toplantı gerçekleştirdiler. Distribütörler ve satış ekibini bir araya getiren bu organizasyonda hem satış pazarlama teknikleri üzerine çalışıldı, hem de uzun bir aradan sonra bir araya gelmenin keyfine varıldı.

NUMIL SALES TEAM MEETING Numil Sales Team assembled at an event held at The Marmara Antalya Hotel between October 3 and 6, 2011. Members of the sales team conducted a zestful and successful meeting with the motto “Winning Culture” during which they took the opportunity to discuss the coming year’s sales and marketing strategies. Throughout the meeting; the dealers and the members of the sales team worked on sales and marketing techniques and enjoyed a reunion after a long period of time apart.

RECKITT BENCKISER AVRUPA SATINALMA MÜDÜRLERİ TOPLANTISI 14 – 17 Kasım 2011 tarihleri arasında, İstanbul’da Reckitt Benckiser Satınalma Müdürleri toplantısını gerçekleştirdik. Misafirlerimiz toplantı mekanı olarak Fulya’daki Reckitt Benckiser binasını, konaklamaları ve aktiviteleri içinse, W Hotel’i seçtiler. 3 gün süren toplantıdan arda kalan vakitlerinde, İstanbul’u gezme fırsatı bulan misafirlerimiz, “Mutfaktayız” aktivitesi ile akşam yemeklerini yaparak hem eğlendiler hem de uyumlu çalışmalarını gösterdiler…

RECKITT BENCKISER EUROPE PURCHASING MANAGERS’ MEETING We held the Reckitt Benckiser Purchasing Managers’ meeting in Istanbul between November 14 and 17, 2011. The guests preferred Reckitt Benckiser premises in Fulya for the event and the W Hotel for accommodation and recreational activities. The guests took the opportunity to sightsee in Istanbul during free time away from the meetings and discussions. For three days, they cooked their own dinner in a fun, team-building environment during the “Mutfaktayız” (“In the Kitchen Together”) activity. 5

SABANCI HOLDİNG VE AGEAS GÜÇLERİNİ AKSİGORTA’DA BİRLEŞTİRDİ… Sabancı Holding, dünyanın en köklü ve en büyük sigorta şirketlerinden Ageas ile ortak olduğunu görkemli bir organizasyon ile genel müdürlük çalışanlarına ilan etti. 22 Ekim 2011 tarihinde Sabancı Center’da düzenlenen ortaklık lansmanı 600 kişinin katılımı ile gerçekleşti. Sabancı Holding Perakende ve Sigorta Grup Başkanı Haluk Dinçer, Ageas Ceo’su Bart de Smet ve Aksigorta Genel Müdürü Uğur Gülen’in de aralarında bulunduğu toplantıda, ortaklığın sigortacılık sektörü ve ülkemiz için olan önemi dile getirildi. Organizasyonun sunuculuğunu kendine özgü tarzı ile herkesin beğenisini kazanan Kadir Çöpdemir gerçekleştirdi. Yaklaşık 3 saat süren ortaklık lansmanı duyurusunun ardından misafirler gala yemeği için ayrı bir salona alındılar. Çalışanlar bu önemli gecede doyasıya eğlendiler.

SABANCI HOLDING AND AGEAS JOIN FORCES IN AKSIGORTA... Sabancı Holding announced its partnership with Ageas, one of the most well-established and largest insurance companies in the world, to the head office staff with an outstanding event. The partnership launch event, held at Sabancı Center on October 22, 2011, was attended by some 600 guests. During the meeting, which Mr. Haluk Dinçer, President of Retail and Insurance SBU of Sabancı Holding, Mr. Bart de Smet, the CEO of Ageas and Mr. Uğur Gülen, the General Manager of Aksigorta attended, the importance of the partnership for the insurance industry and for Turkey was articulated. The event was anchored by Kadir Çöpdemir, who is popularly well-known and appreciated for his distinctive style. The partnership launch announcement, which lasted roughly three hours, was followed by the gala dinner where the guests had a memorably entertaining night.

Türkiye Büyükelçiliğinin Nazik Ziyaretine Teşekkür Ediyoruz …

Ceva İlaç Şirket Gezisi bu yıl 11 – 16 Aralık 2011 tarihlerinde Mexico City’de gerçekleştirildi. Seyahat süresince Teotichucan Piramitleri, Cuernavaca, Taxco, Guadalupe ve Xochimilco gibi ülkenin önde gelen turistik noktaları doyasıya gezildi, Mariachi’lerin eşlik ettiği akşam yemeklerinde eğlenceli saatler yaşandı. Meksika Büyükelçiliği Maslahatgüzarı Akil Öktem ve değerli eşi Fevziye Öktem ile Meksika Ticari Ataşemiz Timur Dikbayir 14 Aralık 2011 tarihinde akşam yemeğimizi onurlandırdı. Misafirlerimize yaptığımız bu sürpriz ile yemek boyunca keyifler daha da arttı. Streslerin atıldığı ve yeni yıla enerjik girilmesinin sağlandığı seyahat sona ererken gelecek yılın planları yapılmaya başlanmıştı.

Mexico City was the destination for Ceva Pharmaceuticals’ Corporate Trip between December 11 and 16, 2011. The travelers visited the prominent tourist hotspots of Mexico, including the Teotihuacan Pyramids, Cuernavaca, Taxco, Guadalupe and Xochimilco, all the while enjoying the lively cuisine to the sound of Mariachis. H.E. Akil Öktem, the Acting Ambassador of the Turkish Embassy in Mexico, Ms. Fevziye Öktem, his estimable spouse, and Mr. Timur Dikbayır, the Commercial Attaché of the Turkish Embassy in Mexico graced us with their presence for dinner on December 14, 2011, the surprise of which rendered the night even more enjoyable for our guests. The trip enabled our guests to let off a whole year’s worth of steam and recharge their batteries. It ended with plans for the next year. 8

BARSELONA EIBTM SEKTÖREL FUARI KATILIMI Bu yıl 23.sü düzenlenen, sektörün en prestijli ve önemli fuarlarından biri olarak bilinen EIBTM (The European Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition) 29 Kasım – 01 Aralık 2011 tarihleri arasında Barcelona’da gerçekleşti. Tüm dünyadan toplam 14,200 turizm profesyonelini bir araya toplayan bu fuara, 8,300 üzerinde toplantı ve etkinlik yönetim firması ve 3,800 üzerinde üst düzey alıcının katılımı sağlandı. Madrid Kültür ve Turizm Bürosu’nun, ICVB (İstanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau) koordinasyonu ile 500 m2’lik Türkiye standında yer alan; kongre ve organizasyon turizmi konusunda öncü 43 firma ve otel ise fuar süresince Türkiye’nin tanıtımına katkıda bulunarak, stand ziyaretçileri ile birebir görüşmeler yaparak yeni iş imkanları sağlamaya çalıştı.

ATTENDING THE EIBTM TRADE SHOW IN BARCELONA

The European Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (EIBTM) is regarded as the most prestigious and remarkable trade shows of tourism industry, was held for the 23rd time in Barcelona between November 29 and December 01, 2011. The trade show assembled some 14,200 tourism professionals from around the world and was attended by over 8,300 meeting and event management companies and more than 3,800 top-level purchasers. Forty-three companies and hotels, the pioneer players in convention and event tourism of Turkish tourism industry, were located at the 500-square-meter stand allotted to Turkey by the coordination between The Culture and Tourism Bureau in Madrid and Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB). They contributed to the publicity of Turkey, had one-to-one interviews and meetings with the visitors and endeavored to create novel business opportunities throughout the duration of the function.

RECKITT BENCKISER YIL SONU TOPLANTISI Reckitt Benckiser firması, 2011 Satış Pazarlama Dördüncü Çeyrek Toplantısını bu sene 8 – 9 Aralık 2011 tarihleri arasında Grand Hyatt İstanbul Otel’de gerçekleştirdi. Farklı gösteriler ile hazırlanan ürün sunumları, katılımcılara keyif dolu anlar yaşattı. Toplantıya sürpriz konuk olarak, Reckitt Benckiser’in Türkiye’de yaptığı yatırımların öncüsü ve aynı zamanda Türkiye başkanlığını yürüten Caner Tunaman’ın katılması da büyük ilgi gördü. Toplantı sonrası tüm ekip yılın stresini Hande Yener konseri ile eğlenerek attılar.

RECKITT BENCKISER YEAR AND MEETING Reckitt Benckiser held the Year End Meeting at Grand Hyatt Istanbul, on December 08 and 9, 2011. The product presentations were intermixed with various shows which offered the attendees some light entertainment. The attendance of Mr. Caner Tunaman, pioneer of Reckitt Benckiser’s investments in Turkey and the President of the Turkish subsidiary of the company, as the surprise guest attracted considerable attention. Hande Yener rounded up the event with a lively and energetic performance.
