Position Description The Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer is responsible for leading and advancing information technology throughout all the core processes and the mission of Tower Health. The Senior Vice President/CIO will work with constituents to build a vision of how IT supports the core mission of Tower Health. This person will be able to translate strategy into a tactical executable plan. The SVP/CIO must be a skilled facilitator who understands the nuances of working within a multi-site environment. The successful person will be able to balance the needs of each individual site with the strategic objectives of the system as a whole.

Overview The SVP/CIO will direct an information technology staff of over 200 professionals. The SVP/CIO will collaborate with Tower Health Executives and Vice Presidents of business lines throughout the enterprise network. This will include senior leadership, physicians, and Department Chairs at each of the facilities. The SVP/CIO will also work with Tower Health Medical Group and Tower Health Partners to advance their initiatives for a Clinically Integrated Network organization.

Responsibilities • Preside over Information Technology operations for the Tower Health network • Create a vision for IT strategy for the system • Assess the current infrastructure and determine what is needed to support the new system • Identify ways to maximize information technology in the delivery of healthcare • Report and share information with the Board to ensure they are kept fully informed on the condition of the information technology utilized within the organization and important factors influencing it • Identify and lead procurement and implementation of new information technology devices, infrastructure, and systems to support the delivery of healthcare • Ensure highly productive relationships and partnerships for the benefit of the organization. • Sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results for information technology initiatives to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization

• Work alongside senior staff/board members, executive directors, and community leaders. Participate in and nurture broad networks of alliances with others to exchange knowledge and information about learning and change in support of change initiatives • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by each department • Attract, retain and motivate staff

Qualifications Competencies:

• Expert knowledge of improvement methods within a healthcare setting • Experienced and skilled at managing complex technology projects that span across multiple departments, as well as geographic settings • Excellent writing skills as well as superb interpersonal and verbal communication skills; a master at presenting information, ideas, and results is critical • Ability to work in a fast moving and, at times, intense environment • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships at all levels within the organization as well as externally with allies, current partners, and potential partners Required Background:

• Requires 7+ years experience in health care information technology management and operational experience with a focus on improving the quality and safety of healthcare • Requires 5+ years health care information technology leadership experience at a Sr. Director or Vice President level • Requires significant strategic experience within a multi-entity hospital setting or hospital IDN • Bachelor’s degree required Desired Background:

• Experience in complex multi-site healthcare systems preferred • An MBA or other applicable graduate degree is strongly preferred

The Greater Reading Trails System has over 125 miles of trails, making it the only Bronze Level International Mountain Bicycling Association Ride Center in the Northeast. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is nationally recognized as one of the best places in North America to watch the annual hawk migration. Additional outdoor activities include exploring the underground Crystal Cave Park or kayaking, fishing and tubing down the Schuylkill River and Blue Marsh Lake. The area also has scenic several campgrounds and golf courses. Bear Creek Mountain Resort is popular during the winter months for cross country skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. Arts and culture have a strong presence in the Reading area. GoggleWorks, the largest arts center in the country provides 145,000 square feet of teaching space for resident artists in various mediums. There are also several music and theater performances by the Reading Symphony Orchestra, the Miller Center for the Arts, and the Reading Choral Society. Festivals such as the 10-day Berks Jazz Festival, are also offered frequently throughout the entire year.

Neighborhoods Wyomissing - This is a growing area for young families that prides itself on some of the best local shopping and restaurants.
