A WORLD FIRST FOR PORCELAIN

Despite the gourmet »Le Ciel« restaurant‘s location in the InterContinental Berchtesgaden resort – at 1,000 metres altitude – the personable chef does not have his head in the clouds. Quite the opposite. When it comes to food preparation, Ulrich Heimann has his feet on the ground. Bells and whistles are not his thing, and less is more according to the chef – under whose auspices the gourmet restaurant was awarded a »Michelin star« and 16 Gault Millau points.

After years of research, the Seltmann Group’s porcelain experts have managed to combine the delicate look of cream-coloured soft porcelain with the advantages of hard porcelain.

SELTMANN WEIDEN The result was porcelain that, in addition to its cream-coloured looks and its velvety texture, also creates a warm, soft appearance. Thanks to the porcelain‘s much higher strength and hardness levels and the hardness of the glaze, the porcelain now has a comparatively superior resistance to chips and long-lasting scratch-resistant surfaces.
