Most of the posters in this brochure can be tailored to your needs. Additionally the VALID Project Team can develop pictorial information and posters that is based on your service’s information and requirements.

OTHER RESOURCES PICTORIAL DICTIONARY The main aim of the pictorial dictionary is to create consistency in the use of pictures for KEY items/issues. This will assist people with literacy needs to start to become familiar with the same pictures for the same item or concept. The dictionary is NOT meant to provide pictures for every item, but for KEY items & issues that often come up in planning and meetings. BECOMING A SELF ADVOCATE The Becoming a Self Advocate Training Program is a curriculum resource for staff assisting people with intellectual disability to develop SelfAdvocacy skills. It is aimed directly at staff working with intellectual disability in an Adult Training and Support Service environment. TO STAND BESIDE: THE ADVOCACY for INCLUSION TRAINING MANUAL Empowering people who support, assist or represent people with intellectual disability. The purpose of the To Stand Beside: The Advocacy for Inclusion Training Manual is to support the training and development of effective advocates for people with a disability.
