SEJEWO SOKKS® MPTS

SOKKS®-Micro Particle Conditioning Systems (SOKKS®-MPTS) is developed for detection dogs, to condition them for the selective recognition of odors and detection of odor sources.

SOKKS® is the result of scientific research who use only real microparticles (no synthetic microparticles). SOKKS®-MPTS is intended to support canine police, military or private.

Animals are the best to detect odor sources.

The detection methods who use animals are based on the evaluation and modification of natural behaviors, conditioned by two sensorial stimuli: first the smell and also a command like sit, bark, or a sound (voice, clicker ...).

The following odors are especially important for police missions, military or private: 

explosives

fire accelerators

Drugs

missing persons, cadavers, human remains and victims

objects from criminals

individual human contamination

paper money

but also 

bedbugs

household mold

SEJEWO Until 1997, the olfactory conditioning (odors memorizing) has often been made from samples of materials. Their classification as a dangerous substance nevertheless raises drawbacks such as: 

hazards to humans, animals and the environment

high and costly security requirements for the storage, transport and disposal of regulated materials

"red tape" related to permits, accounting and disposal of waste

erroneous memory related to odors caused by parasites production, preparation, handling and packaging of products.

SOKKS®-MPTS minimizes these disadvantages. Indeed, Professor Wolf A Kafka, physicist and neurophysiologist, developed in collaboration with the Bavarians Ministries of Interior and the Austrian, this new method of olfactory conditioning for the detection and localization of odor sources.

Compared to a traditional packaging benefits of SOKKS® are based on the use of:

• extremely small quantities (of the order of nano or micrograms). • real substances of high purity (not chemical imitations) • a cylindrical support, purified, neutral smell, and flexible (a cylinder of 50 mm x 6 mm 2 mm thick polypropylene, having pores of 10 to 50 microns) • very strong and very stable material (physical and chemical stability), with a surface contamination of the location used extremely low (approximately 0.000002% of the load from the source). • very low odor concentration but sufficient for canine detection.

Using extremely low on concentrations and high purity SOKKS®-MPTS meets international requirements for a simple packaging, fast, safe, reproducible and available for: 

explosives SOKKS®-Explosive

arson SOKKS®-Fire

drugs SOKKS®-Drugs

drugs + paper money SOKKS® Drugs+PM

missing Persons / body / human venous blood SOKKS®-PC* special human characteristics optional

insects (bed bugs) SOKKS®-Cimex mold SOKKS®-Myces

The SOKKS®-MPTS system can also be extended to any type of substance whose odor is noticeable.

The SOKKS®-MPTS conditioning ensure :

• highest sensitivity even at minimal odor intensities • a simple and safe operation, involving no risk to humans, animals and the environment. • improved odor retention, serving as reference, long-term reproducible and identifying products, objects and people (whether missing, injured or deceased) • a simplified and faster training for all hazardous substances used, relevant for police, armed forces or private companies and for possible new developments. • The combination of substance groups thus avoiding individual packaging for each product. • a conditioning reference and assured long-term results, thereby avoiding the failures caused by the production of related substances and contamination of materials (packaging, additive substances such as phlegmatic in explosives, chemical decomposition in fires and putrescence).

Page 4 sur 12

SEJEWO • elimination of risks to humans, animals and the environment (eg loss, vandalism, theft etc.) normally associated with handling training materials (drugs, explosives, etc.) • reduced training costs, storage and waste disposal. • bureaucratic simplification when it comes to hazardous materials (explosives, narcotics, human material and especially of infectious organisms equipment) • a negligible contamination during the exposures, due to the physical and chemical structure of the support

The SOKKS®-MPTS conditioning process is therefore consistent with the requirements established by law for the protection of humans, animals and the environment.

*SOKKS®-PC comes mainly from people, corpses, saliva, urine, blood or contaminated materials from human blood (no animal products). It is based on a group of smell from at least 10 patients and reported clinically dead persons for less than 12 hours, mixed with gaseous emanations of venous blood and fresh (less than 120 minutes). This material proved enough for the search dogs SOKKS®-conditioning PC. The conditioned dogs were able to effectively detect corpses and human remains buried up to 3 meters deep and for several years, even under water. (See reports from K. Dobetzberger, Austria and Chr. Ehinger, Switzerland).

SEJEWO Use SOKKS® MPTS

Scope of delivery

Each SOKKS®-MPTS tube contains substances (or groups of substances) in micrograms and comes exclusively in opaque glass containers sterilized. An empty container for used SOKKS® (SOKKS® used) and an empty container for SOKKS® that are no longer usable (SOKKS® waste) are also delivered.

A glass container "SOKKS® Original" Includes white tubes (tubes SOKKS®) odorants supports. The SOKKS® tubes are flexible, antistatic and non-friable (no risk to dogs teeth), they are loaded with highly purified substances.

An empty glass container "SOKKS®-used" The SOKKS® tube used is stored in this container for later use. This is for tubes "SOKKS®Original" used once, since it is inevitably contaminated with odors from the environment during use. This material "SOKKS®-used" is particularly useful for continuous training, the animal being trained in this way, is going to filter the essential substances from all inevitably substantive existing odors. For this reason, training materials "SOKKS®-used" should be used only after the success of the original conditioning with the pure material "SOKKS®-Original".

An empty glass container "SOKKS®-waste" This container is used for tubes apparently too contaminated by impurities and therefore unfit for training (eg after oral ingestion). The "SOKKS®-waste" tubes should be subject to special disposal. It will otherwise disrupt regular search operation by triggering an unwanted detection. You may return the pots by post, we handle destruction.

SEJEWO The delivery includes at least three small empty glasses (75 ml) + labels (SOKKS®-Original, used SOKKS®-used, SOKKS®-waste) for easy handling small amounts of SOKKS®.

Storage and Operating Instructions

Storage : To ensure the continued success of the training, it is essential to avoid any form of contamination, in particular olfactory, of the packaging equipment. Please absolutely follow these simple directions:

Keep SOKKS® in a cool place (not below 0 ° C) and protected from light, only in their opaque glass containers specially provided for this purpose. Under these conditions, the materials will keep almost indefinitely, and for a minimum period of 3 years. Given the extremely low loading substances, storage of SOKKS® (unlike the usual training material, particularly explosives, fire accelerants, drugs, human remains etc) do not require special security measure.

Open the glass bottle only to remove and replace the SOKKS® tubes, never out of curiosity ! At the end of the 3 year period, remove SOKKS® and store them in the container "waste." Eliminate them correctly or return them. We support free waste disposal in accordance with the ecological needs.

Training with SOKKS®

While training with the equipment SOKKS® does not diverge from conventional training methods, please follow these instructions to obtain the best quality of conditioning :

=> Don’t smoke while handling SOKKS® equipment.

SEJEWO => Slightly heat (above room temperature) containers before opening to avoid condensation possible by impurities. => To remove SOKKS® tubes, open containers as briefly as possible and an almost in neutral olfactory environment. => Avoid contact with foreign substances and always use clean tongs (metal) or other similar device and disposable gloves (powder-free) when handling. => Sterilize the tongs if possible before use (heat source, sterilizer ...), do not clean with solvents like alcohol etc. (odor!) => Start the first conditioning steps in a dry, odor-neutral environment. Avoid especially contaminated sites with conventional training materials or real material. Unlike conventional materials, SOKKS® not led to contamination of the place of use, in relationship of the special consistency of the tube and the extremely small amount of odors substances. => Start the first conditioning steps with 2 to 4 SOKKS® tubes. After initial success, you can reduce the number of tubes in a single tube per session. => When setting up SOKKS® tubes into the soil, leaves or equivalent, possibly using a special device as a breakthrough metal box. => Outside the initial conditioning, avoid using "Bringsel" or equivalent due to possible contamination. => When using the Bringsel, if discovery reward is provided by the Bringsel (dog seeks and finds the hidden SOKKS® tubes in the Bringsel) be sure to keep the train without Bringsel too. => Allow the animal to quickly find SOKKS® tubes at the beginning and reward it immediately in case of success (eg clicker method or always immediately after the successful behavior), give him his "toy" (ball, Kong, Bringsel etc.), but always with laudatory congratulations. => When selecting the place of exercise, remember that the SOKKS® material emits extremely low amounts of odor (which ensures particularly successful training results for the selectivity and sensitivity). Do not choose a place therefore too "hidden." => Do not start at the detections from an application time before 3 to 15 minutes. => The SOKKS® material poses no hazard to health and the environment, however oral ingestion of SOKKS® tube is avoided, like any thing that is not edible. SEJEWO => After the conditioning success, realized only with tubes "SOKKS®-original", you can continue with "SOKKS®-used" even in conditions more difficult and in increasingly large search areas. => After finding the SOKKS® tubes repeatedly, training must be pursued in stages, alternating with the control of the detection of real substances, even under difficult conditions. The final certification exam must be done only with real material ! => Banish any use of Pseudo training material during the SOKKS® training. => Complete the training phases as much as possible by rewarding your pet !
