SCOUTS-L ---------AKELA CALLS

Date: Mon, 24 Oct 1994 21:18:08 -0400 (EDT) From: "Michael F. Bowman" Subject: Re: Pow Wow to 10/24 Jay asked for information on when Akela Calls will be held for NE Region. Akela Calls is planned for the weekend of 9-11 June, 1995, according to Bob Legg, Associate Regional Director for Relationships. We were asking the same question so we could plan to attend. As I understand it, they have settled on the University of Strasburg, Pennsylvannia, (near Lancaster, PA) as the site, although I haven't called to confirm this. Information packets are being produced now and should be at local Councils soon. I'll be at Akela Calls as a lead instructor for the sessions on religious emblem programs. We would love to see some of you folks from the net in our course and of course it would be great to have a netter's reunion at some point in the program. When I get some more specifics on the planned schedule, I'll post the information and suggest a couple of times for potential meetings. If the site is Strasburg, it'll be a great place to be for railroad enthusiasts. There is a railway museum there and short trips are available on an old steam train. Yours in Scouting, Michael F.
