HMI/SCADA Interface HMI/SCADA HMI/SCADA and DCS systems specialize in the control monitoring of machines. The eRPortal® HMI interface has been developed to trigger work orders based on any combination of values or conditions. Issues caught early can prevent further damage to an Asset and possibly avoid extensive downtime and higher repair costs.

HMI/SCADA Interface Utilization Triggered PM Work Orders HMI/SCADA can be setup to trigger Utilization based PM Work Orders. The system does this by monitoring hours of run time or other “usage” parameters, such as on/off cycles and then publishes this data into the eRPortal® system. In the example below in the Equipment Utilization Tag field, PUMP003. MaintRuntimeHours has been selected from the drop down menu. This is the SCADA tag that represents the runtime hours for this asset.

HMI/SCADA Interface Utilization Triggered PM Work Orders Shown below in the PM Utilization Trigger panel, the Current Value is 1250 Hours. The HMI/SCADA system interfaced with eRPortal® will update the Current Value for this asset.

Note: Initially the hours may have to be entered in to the Current Value for an asset that will use the PM Utilization Trigger option.

HMI/SCADA Interface Condition Based Corrective Action\Repair Work Orders Using the eRPortal HMI/SCADA interface, condition based maintenance work orders triggers can be set-up for any PLC connected equipment. The “tag” values being monitored by the SCADA or DCS can be used to create work order responses to any of these “tags” that go out of spec or reach specific levels. Click on the plus sign (+) on the screen below. This will open a blank Condition-Based Trigger Configuration screen shown on the next page.

HMI/SCADA Interface Condition Based Corrective Action\Repair Work Orders Using the drop down menus the Tag Name can be selected and the condition based trigger can be configured to meet the required specifications using the Oper, Value and Duration fields. Information must be entered into the Oper, Value and Duration fields that define what would be considered outside normal operating parameters. Or the Alarm State can be used if present. Use the drop down menu to set the Alarm State. A Work Requested Description can be entered to communicate the core problem or the condition that exists for this asset, when and if the set parameters are ever met. Parts and Procedures can be entered using the Procedure and Item Finders. This gives personnel a guide on exactly how to respond when the above out of spec conditions occur.

HMI/SCADA Interface Condition Based Corrective Action\Repair Work Orders The Tag Names PUMP003.Maint.Pressure and Pump003.Maint.Temperature have been selected from the drop down menus in the screen below. In the example above if the Pressure value is greater than 50 for 90 seconds and the second condition Temperature the value is greater than 70 for 90 seconds the condition triggers a work order. Both of these conditions have to be met at the same time for a condition based trigger work order to be created. The Procedures and Parts necessary for the work are listed at the bottom of the screen. Both are selected from their respective Finders.

Enter the Work Requested, Craft, Type and Priority for corrective action. This information will appear on the condition based work order as soon as the system automatically creates it. More than one Condition Based Trigger can be entered for the asset. © 2015 eRPortal Software, Inc.
