About Save A Dog What is Save A Dog? We are a humane society dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs. The year 2014 marks our 15th year of service. We began in 1999 as an all-breed, dog rescue organization and operated it out of our founder's home in Wayland, MA for the first ten years. Then we moved to 604 Boston Post Road in Sudbury where we now operate the shelter and foster program. The house has a Meet-and-Greet room where people can meet a dog who is available for adoption in a homey setting. The rescued dogs enjoy multiple play areas, kuranda beds, piped-in music and near round-the-clock care from our volunteers. One way to maximize the number of lives saved is to bring in groups of a dozen or so dogs at one time from a heavily over-populated region. In rural parts of the country there is a huge pet over-population problem. We work with several humane societies in the south and in rural areas who rescue and foster the dogs before driving them up to us. We use a holistic protocol in caring for our rescued dogs and founder, Shirley Moore, is a trained Homeopath who provides most of the holistic care for the dogs at Save A Dog , as w ell as for the extended community of volunteers and adopters. We have found that a “chemical-free” approach using herbal supplements, probiotics, and homeopathic remedies results in healthier dogs who are ready for adoption. Our rescued dogs are less likely to get most of the diseases commonly seen in kenneled dogs. Every single dollar we raise makes a difference in the life of a dog. ON THE FRONT COVER: Duke is a very sweet Boxer mix who recently came into our shelter. Soon after his arrival we learned that he has hip dysplasia in both hips and is in need of surgery immediately. Part of the proceeds for tonight's benefit will go to help Duke and other dogs like him. On average we take in one to two special needs dogs like Duke every month. Save A Dog has a no-kill philosophy and we believe that every dog deserves a chance. Won't you help us by giving an extra donation tonight to help dogs like Duke. Thank you so much! This was not acceptable, so with his help we started to raise funds and support Shirley and all the wonderful angels that do the work everyday to save many."

A Guide to the Auction We are offering our guests both a silent and a live auction tonight. Feel free to walk around and view all the items displayed. We are also offering complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Dinner will be served after the silent auction closes. Dessert, coffee and tea will be served toward the end of the Live Auction! Take your time to review all the auction items, make your silent auction bids, and visit our Save A Dog retail merchandise table. And, of course, have a great time meeting members of the Save A Dog family.

Silent Auction The silent auction items and hors d’oeuvres are located in the adjoining rooms off of the main dining room. Be sure to visit these items upon your arrival and place your bids. The rules are simple: When you see an item you like, enter your bidder number (the number on your paddle) on the bid sheet. Paying For Your Auction Purchases Running tabs for each bidder will be maintained throughout the auction for both silent and live auction items as well as any retail purchases you might make. You may go to the checkout table(s) in the lobby to receive your itemized bill after the live auction. Then follow the line around the table to the cashier where cash, checks, or credit card will be taken for payment. All merchandise must be taken with you when you leave.

Julian Edelman, nicknamed "Minitron" by Tom Brady, is a wide receiver and punt returner for the New England Patriots. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Patriots. He played college football for Kent State and the College of San Mateo as a quarterback. Edelman is notable for his versatility, having played both wide receiver and defensive back in 2011, and for his punt returns. Edelman holds the Patriots franchise record for longest punt return; and, as of the start of the 2013 NFL season, the highest career punt return average among active players. As of week 8 this season, Edelman has had 45 receptions for a total of 467 yards, making the 2014 season his second best to date. And there’s still half a season left to play! Chris Kelly Autographed Hockey Puck

Chris Kelly is a Canadian who plays center for the Boston Bruins. Previously, Kelly spent several seasons in the Ottawa Senators organization. He is an alternate captain for the Bruins during away games and was a member of Boston's 2011 Stanley Cup winning team. After the first 10 games of the 2014-2015 season, Kelly has been lauded as one of the Bruins’ best players this season and has been playing an important role at both ends of the ice. This includes scoring the game winning goal in the season-opening victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

A Boston Tradition! It has become Boston's "social event of the winter season." The first two Monday nights of February in Boston are reserved for the Beanpot, an annual hockey tournament that features Boston College, Boston University, Harvard and Northeastern University. It all started on Dec. 26, 1952 at the old Boston Arena. The next year the Beanpot moved to the Garden, where it has been played ever since and become the official battle for Boston's hockey bragging rights. Win tickets for 2 for all Beanpot Hockey games. Will Middlebrooks Autographed Baseball

Will Middlebrooks is a third baseman with the Boston Red Sox. He made his MLB debut with the Red Sox on May 2, 2012. Four days later he hit a game-tying grand slam for his first major league home run. Middlebrooks was a fifth round draft pick in the 2007, and was originally a shortstop, but the Red Sox converted him into a third baseman in the minor leagues. He represented the United States in the 2011 All-Star Futures Game. Following Middlebrooks' emergence as the Red Sox' starting third baseman in 2012, the organization traded former All-Star Kevin Youkilis.
