For the 8th consecutive time the Posidonia Cup will launch Posidonia week on Friday 3 June 2016 in Faliron Bay. Established as the flagship event of the Posidonia sporting programme and one of the biggest sailing events in Greek waters, the Posidonia Cup Yacht Race has become a firm fixture on the global shipping agenda.

A record 58 yachts and over 500 crew members were the ingredients of the actionpacked Posidonia Cup 2014 sailing race, which culminated in a prestigious award ceremony at the picturesque Vouliagmeni Lake, bringing professional sailors, shipping executives and experienced seamen together and creating the unique Posidonia atmosphere. The challenging weather conditions stimulated both enthusiasm and suspense and united the global shipping family in a day full of fun, fellowship and adventure!

Posidonia exhibitors and all members of the international shipping community are invited to join the race, either with their own private yacht or with those provided by the co-organisers, the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC).

ORGANISING AUTHORITY & VENUE The "Posidonia Cup 2016" will take place in Faliron Bay, Piraeus, Greece, organised by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) in cooperation with Posidonia Exhibitions S.A., on 3rd June 2016.

RULES The event will be governed by: • Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013 - 2016 • ORC Rating Systems 2016 (ORC International & ORC Club) • IMS Rule 2016 • IRC Rule 2016 • ISAF Offshore Special Regulations 2016 - 2017. The Event is Classified in Category 5. • From sunset to sunrise, the 1972 International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea Board as amended in November 1981 replace RRS, Part 2 Right of Way Rules • The Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions and their amendments. • ISAF Advertising Code will apply. • All participating boats must display the Sponsor’s logos, which will be supplied with the race pack. These may consist of bow stickers and flags.

ENTRIES Only Members of the International Maritime Community who are in Greece for Posidonia and participants of the Posidonia Exhibition are eligible to enter the event. The Organising Committee shall be the sole judge of the eligibility of the entrants. Entries shall be made on the official Race Entry Form (also available at the HORC website www.posidoniacup.horc.gr) and shall be received by the HORC Secretariat not later than 10 May 2016, accompanied by the non-refundable entry fee. It is intended to limit the total number of entries to 50, split into four (4) equal classes.

BOATS & CLASSES ORCi, ORC Club, IRC boats with a valid rating certificate and Classic & Traditional sailing yachts with CIM or HORC Certificate for Classic/ Traditional yachts are eligible to enter the event. The fleet will be split into following divisions: • Performance Division: This division includes ORCi & CLUB F rated boats with CDL greater or equal than 9,10 (CDL ≥ 9,10). • Standard Division: This division includes other ORCi & CLUB F rated boats and also ORC Club rated boats. Standard Division boats have the right to race in Performance Division. • IRC Division: This division includes boats rated under IRC. • Classic & Traditional Yachts Division: This division includes all classic or traditional spirit boats. Participants can enter the event using their own boat or a chartered boat. The Organising Authority will provide 15 boats on a first-come first-served basis. The boats available will be listed on the HORC website and registered race participants can choose the boat they prefer from the list on a first-come fist-served basis. In order to assist competitors, each of the provided boats will be accompanied by one person appointed by the Organising Committee and familiar with the boat and local conditions. Upon request the Organising Authority may provide more persons to assist in the crewing of the boat. Each boat provided by the Organising Authority is fully insured but has a deductible of ú 1.500 for each and every accident. In case of any damage, the amount up to ú 1.500 shall be covered by the participating company.

ENTRY FEE • For boats made available by HORC the entry fee is ú 1.100 per boat. • The entry fee for entry with own/chartered boat is ú 600 per boat.

ENTRY DISCLAIMER a) Neither HORC nor Posidonia Exhibitions S.A. nor the Posidonia Cup Sponsors and Supporters nor their representatives shall be liable for any loss, damage, death or personal injury howsoever caused to the owner/competitor, skipper or crew, as a result of their taking part in the race or races. Moreover, every owner/competitor warrants the suitability of his boat for the race or races. b) The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance (except for HORC provided boats) shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/competitor who must ensure that the boat is fully sound and seaworthy, and manned by a crew of sufficient number and experience who are physically fit to face bad weather. The owner/competitor must be satisfied as to the soundness of the hull, spars, rigging, sails and all gear and must ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained, stowed and up to date and that the crew knows where it is kept and how it is to be used. c) Neither of the clauses described in (a) & (b) above, nor their application by the race organizers, nor the inspection of the boat limit in any way the absolute responsibility of the owner/competitor. The crew is nonetheless advised to satisfy themselves as to the experience of the skipper and the adequacy of all safety equipment and insurance arrangements. Attendance at the safety briefing on Friday, June 3rd, at 10:00 is compulsory for the skipper of the boat. At that time each skipper will be asked to sign a disclaimer and media release. Copies of this will be available at HORC

TROPHIES Trophies will be awarded to the top three overall in each Division. A diploma will be awarded to all crew members of the participating boats.

I declare that the relative provisions of articles 20 and 23 of the General Port Regulations have been taken into account (as they have been modified and are currently in effect), that the required shipping documents and supplies for the boat's category are valid and carried onboard, and that the International Regulations of Safety of Navigation will be applied.
